Dad bought it 2 months ago! Have to say that the quality, refinement and reliability is top notch. We have the Sportz Imperial Beige colour. The Infotainment system is very smooth and gear shift is very much sleek.
Nice review Yogi ji. I purchased Santro AMT sports model at the time of launch only. You have covered almost all the positives and negatives points, so hats off to you for this. Some of the points I mention here from my experience of 8 months of use. 1. Santro has excellent touchscreen infotainment system 2. Least maintenance cost 3. Sound quality is decent, not better than Tiago 4. I don't know why you couldn't find window switches convenient, I found it very easy within a week. 5. When I step into the car, I feel like in a class above car. This is the level of premiumness and quality which nobody offers in this segment. 6. Talking about mileage, Santro gives me approx. 13 in the city and 18 on the highways. 7. In the highways, it has some bodyroll when you drive it above 100 but it is lesser compare to Wagon R. 8. It has very good storage space inside the car compare to other cars in this segment 9. Santro is made for family so it has some nice practical points like shelf above glove box, big door pockets, rear AC, better under thigh support, etc. 10. You forgot to mention about eco coating which prevents bacteria and bad odour from AC.

I took this car Santro Sprotz CNG manual for 1250 Km highway which has given me appprox 15.25 km/litre. And CNG full tank has given 233 KM means approx 25 km/kg of CNG. Alll of your comments about its power on hilly areas is absolutely correct observations. On hill side it gives less performance. In June 2020. Overall I am happy with the car. AC of the car is very good. And suspension is also very good. I had continuous 16hr of driving iin this car. AC and Suspension gets full mark.

The latest incarnation of Santro ( as in October 2019 ) , you get reverse camera, passenger air bag and seat belt pre - tensioners as standard features.
Thanks for very nice detailed review. I have manual wagon r 2009 model. I frequently drive it from Mumbai to Pune. While driving I rarely use hand brakes which I find irritating. Rather I am more comfortable with the use of half clutch/brake combination on inclines. Now I am considering to purchase AMT hatchback. Can you advise if Santro AMT will give serious roll back problems while restarting from stationery position on city flyovers traffic jams and on inclines in Ghat section? Will frequent use of hand brake required? Because there are large number of flyovers in Mumbai/Pune where I stay and also Ghat sections, it will be important for me. I think such problems are not there in AMT ignis or wagon r may be due to less lazy engine. Secondly some people say that Santro wobbles or looses line while hard braking. Is it true? Your advice will be very useful to me since i consider your channel very reliable.

Don't do CNG in AMT car as it doesn't come factory fitted. You may not get good performance and also your warranty will get expire if you do such kind of change in gearbox

Looks is subjective matter. Some people like Ignis looks, some like Santro looks. But Ignis is the only car from Maruti which is least successful bcoz of it's looks
You are right they should have offered dual airbags, reverse parking camera & sensors along with aggressive pice against Wagon R 1.0 engine buyers. Anyways Maruti's 1.2 is a gem of an engine & it out performs Santro 1.1 by long margin in power & efficiency.
In new model, they provide dual airbag along with rear camera in Sports AMT. So now it's the best varient in Santro. If you talk about Wagon R, it's indeed a very good practical car buy it doesn't feel as premium as Santro

But like me many were disappointed with AMT Sportz minimum feature offerings. I equated SANTRO as EON replacement hence rukha-sukha introduction. The sales nos. indicates SANTRO has not lived up to buyers expectations. Whereas Wagon R nos. suggest its a clear winner in tall boy segment.
The review is mostly correct and I agree. However, its not correct that Sportz version is missing rear view camera and sensors. Gear shift is sluggish and overtaking, hill driving takes planning. Overall very satisfied with the car and is far ahead from others at this price point.
Biggest negative was price & comparison with facelift Wagon R comforts with bigger boot space. Wagon R with 1.2 engine is an outright winner with VFM price against Santro.
Both cars are good and have their own pros and cons. In some Wagon R is better, in some Santro is better. But you can't compare Maruti cars with Hyundai cars. Hyundai cars are know for it's class, quality, premiumness, refinement which u can't get in Maruti as Maruti is known for providing good mileage by compromising build quality, refinement and quality interior

Once a model is rejected by Indians it's rejected forever no matter whatever you may offer later with change of features & Pricing..
