Amigurumi is fun to make, but can be a little fiddly with the smaller gauge and pieces. I want to try with some of the chunky yarns folks are using now! 2024 is the year I make several wearables, I'm determined!

Great video and I will tell you the more expensive resin hooks aren't any better than the less expensive. You will love the Prym! my local grocery all in one type store started carrying them and they have been on sale. whooo! like $5 or less. Did I stock up? Heck yea. Apparently they are redoing their craft/yarn department in the next year and I am betting it gets even better. You got some great things for the holiday! Really enjoying your channel too 🙂 Puzzle

I just ordered an Omni hook from Amazon that I'll get tomorrow. Excited to try that out. Also have to say that I've saved the plastic gum containers too...haha. Puzzle!

The older I get, the easier it is for me to lose patience with large projects, looking at the same yarn for an extended period even if it's variegated... I may just join your CAL... Sounds like it could be fun! My favorite hook is Clover Amour. I can't use the soft touch like you have as I roll my hook as I stitch. Last year I saw a review of those Prym ergonomic hooks and bought a few, fell in love, and now I have all the sizes - I bought them on Amazon in the sets of 5, plus a few individual hooks @ Michaels with coupons. I have also discovered a less expensive option to the Pryms - Hobby Lobby has 2 different lines of similar hooks for $3 - $4 each. The ones with a colored shaft are fine for acrylic but horrible on cotton. The ones with the white shaft, I have only tried with acrylic - they're fine on it, and may be better with cotton as the material feels similar to the Prym (nylon vs. plastic on the ones w/colored shaft). Etched sizes solution: use a black Sharpie to fill in the etching then, use the clear nail polish if you feel it's still needed. I have end stage Glaucoma & the Sharpies are super helpful!
Love love love the apricot scarf you made for your mom. Good work. I love color pulling in crochet. 🧶 you did it in knitting. Too bad the yarn isn’t available. Boye is my favorite all around crochet hook. I go to a tunisian set knitters pride. I don’t like a long end gets really heavy with work hanging off and hits the arm of the couch. Ok I hate to say the but been crocheting for 51 years and knitting for 57. The muscles in my body are fading quicker than a setting sun. I will not loose my craft in my golden years when I have more time now. I use weights to keep tendons and muscles supple in my arms and upper body. I notice a big difference in how I eat. Tacos and pizza always on the menu. So are salads and veggies. Have fun. Love you knitting and crocheting. I am long winded. Sorry

I started off with the clover and now have the prym, honestly once you get used to them you will never go back. The longer hooks make a massive difference to your hands plus if you have a slippy yarn they hold it much better
Hi lucas . weather is cold.i live in sw Colorado mountains. It's been below 20 for a month, and we have lots of snow. I love susan bates metal hooks with the ergonomic handle. But i love the bamboo knitting needles. I have never used puzzle yarn.i guess im going to have to give it a go. I can't wait to see your channel grow. ❤ and fyi... it gets harder to recover from partying after 40..lol

Puzzle! One goal I have this year is to open my Etsy store again. I also have a couple of granny square blankets to crochet. I can guarantee that almost ALL of us watching that crochets/knits gets yarn fibers on/in the nose. For me I think my nose has a yarn magnet 😂...The hooks are Beautiful btw, I have a Daiz hook it's so awesome to look at, haven't used it yet, it's like a milky white/clear, it's kind of short..but he sells his hooks on ETSY direct from him. I Also want to start making things for myself and go outside of my comfort zone, I've only been crocheting for a little over a year but everyone thinks I've done it my entire life. Welp...here I go to buy hooks, stitch markers, and yarn that I do not need 🤣🤣 My craft closet is full. I have 3 blankets planned for 2024. And yet...the PUZZLE yarn looks fun... and I love pretty hooks...but I've never owned any other than my OG Boye hooks.
Every time I see a new hook, I have to try it. I may hate it, but at least I'm giving it a good shot. I do still have my original Boye I hook that I learned with.
Love the green puzzle yarn, and like you I never take pictures of what I make and 95% of everything I make I gave it away but I want to start making some hats and scarfs for me and a sweater and who knows what else. I want to wish you a happy new year.

Hi Lucas! Puzzle! LOL! You made me laugh when you spoke about the $50.00 socks. You are right LOL! I also have crochet many things and have given them away and have yet not made anything for myself. Maybe this is something I can do for 2024. Make something for me.
It's so true though - I have size 14 feet and a standard ball of sock yarn is juuuust shy of enough yardage. I can supplement with a second skein for toes and heels. Is it worth it? Maybe.
I can tell for the larger sizes, I havent used the smaller sizes in so long I have to double check! I've never used the steel hooks, though... but I will be!

Happy New Year Lucas 😊 I also have a few Prym hooks and they do take time to adjust to, but I hold them in the ‘knife’ position as I call it lol. which feels different to my usual way of holding a hook. My faves are Tulip and Clover soft as well. Have a great 2024!

My goal for next year is to use up at least half of my stash! The puzzle is, what will it turn into! But I do know there's enough variety to do most anything! Great gifts. Happy New Year 🎉
Puzzle. I am working on my tunisian piece its slow going like knitting would be. Its so slow going. In the book i have the crochet stitch bible has tunisian patterns. I look at each projrct i do as learning projects, so much to crochet to still learn, i mean please, i have a book that has 500 sitch patterns.

2024 I'm hoping to make a wearable that isn't a hat or a scarf. I'm attempting slippers right now. Or slipper, rather. I'm hoping I can make a second one that matches - it'll be a new thing for me, since I've never made the same thing twice before. I'm using Red Heart SS in Monet and the colour makes me super happy. I hope the puzzle yarn makes you just as happy! :) I may have made this slipper too long for my foot... I am the worst at estimating sizes, even when I use a tape measure. I can't decide if I should make the second one shorter so it fits better or aim for a matched pair. Advice?
I would make the second in a smaller size to see if it fits better and then rip out the first and make it match. You don't have to rip out the first one, but I would definitely make the second either way!

Welp...here I go to buy hooks, stitch markers, and yarn that I do not need 🤣🤣 My craft closet is full. I have 3 blankets planned for 2024. And yet...the PUZZLE yarn looks fun... and I love pretty hooks...but I've never owned any other than my OG Boye hooks.
Every time I see a new hook, I have to try it. I may hate it, but at least I'm giving it a good shot. I do still have my original Boye I hook that I learned with.
Love the green puzzle yarn, and like you I never take pictures of what I make and 95% of everything I make I gave it away but I want to start making some hats and scarfs for me and a sweater and who knows what else. I want to wish you a happy new year.

Hi Lucas! Puzzle! LOL! You made me laugh when you spoke about the $50.00 socks. You are right LOL! I also have crochet many things and have given them away and have yet not made anything for myself. Maybe this is something I can do for 2024. Make something for me.
It's so true though - I have size 14 feet and a standard ball of sock yarn is juuuust shy of enough yardage. I can supplement with a second skein for toes and heels. Is it worth it? Maybe.

New subscriber!!! No doubt you will accomplish your goals for 2024. Prym hooks are very nice when doing bobbles as there is a lot of room for super large bobbles. Enjoy all your hooks and the makes for you. I did watch to the end but leaving off the "P" word as I have all that I could possibly want. I just found your videos. I love that you did a review on the off brand hooks. As someone who is on a budget, I always look to see if there is a review for the hooks I'm interested in before buying them. Puzzle.

I also have a few Prym hooks and they do take time to adjust to, but I hold them in the ‘knife’ position as I call it lol. which feels different to my usual way of holding a hook. My faves are Tulip and Clover soft as well. Have a great 2024!
I've tried so many times to use the pencil hold, it just doesnt work with my brain. Knife hold all day! Happy 2024!

I just got in the same Puzzle Yarn.I ordered 6, not even sure what im making with it, possibly a throw. I have so many sets of hooks and well say the Tulips are by far my favorite.I got them several years ago on sell,the were expensive back then too but worth it. Happy New Year..

Puzzle. I am working on my tunisian piece its slow going like knitting would be. Its so slow going. In the book i have the crochet stitch bible has tunisian patterns. I look at each projrct i do as learning projects, so much to crochet to still learn, i mean please, i have a book that has 500 sitch patterns.
I really need to get some stitching books... maybe I'll grab some today during my yarn hunt!

2024 I'm hoping to make a wearable that isn't a hat or a scarf. I'm attempting slippers right now. Or slipper, rather. I'm hoping I can make a second one that matches - it'll be a new thing for me, since I've never made the same thing twice before. I'm using Red Heart SS in Monet and the colour makes me super happy. I hope the puzzle yarn makes you just as happy! :) I may have made this slipper too long for my foot... I am the worst at estimating sizes, even when I use a tape measure. I can't decide if I should make the second one shorter so it fits better or aim for a matched pair. Advice?
I would make the second in a smaller size to see if it fits better and then rip out the first and make it match. You don't have to rip out the first one, but I would definitely make the second either way!
