Ever since I became aware of Mr Beast I got the impression that he's the "rich guy who pays poor people to dance for his amusement" type. Is the money helpful to them? Sure. Does it make him a good person? Not really, no. Especially since he knows he's going to profit off it.
In a way there is an even more sinister angle to this, as even the giveaways are ultimately just part of other schemes that will ultimately make him more money.
Thank you for putting what I always felt into words hw has always felt both like he was making people dance for money and that the only thing he seemed to ever talk about was views and money on any clip I saw of one of his interviews
It's literally that. Considering what he does as "charity" is considering the rich men in Squid Game as charity people, because one of the poor will get the money. It doesn't work like that
Even the most “charitable” billionaire was proven to actually be donating purely to benefit from it. I’m talking about the guy who “gave away” something like 90% of his company… But that’s not what he did at all… anyone who just slightly looks into it sees that it wasn’t charitable and was just a way to avoid massive inheritence taxes all the while building one of the greatest concentration of political power that his descendents will be able to live off of for eternity. There was 0 charitable intention
It's wild to me that Logan Paul is still around, after the incident in the Aokigahara Forest - and he's not apologetic about it. Dude even advertised his garbage merch/food while announcing his new kid. Mr. Beast is like youtube friendly "Saw", and these two teaming up just feel extremely appropriate. Views and money at any cost. Makes me wonder what wrongs KSI is hiding. Especially with all the scamming Logan Paul has done towards his fan base with crypto schemes and more.
I think ksis worst thing was claiming videos that used his music (couldn't say if it was on purpose or if the claiming system was taken advantage of... Other than that I think it's just the lame boxing fights he did with Logan paul and that his music sucks. Ignoring the prime and lunchly stuff obviously
With all the allegations against him, his associates, and his company of course he's going to try and do stupid shit. He wants people to talk about that rather than the real issues.
Even if they were found to be unsubstantiated, *they will never forgive and forget.* They'll still shit on him like how they will still shit on Baldwin whose infamous for accidentally gunning down a cinematographer without him even knowing it was loaded.
It's simple, it became popular to hate him so he stopped caring. All he ever did was good, even if there was some mistakes along the way. But the hate and resentment against him kept growing. Now that everyone is calling him a nazi capitalist he just doesn't care.
Thought all the allegations on Dream regarding the pdf stuff is disproven is there something I missed cause that’s what I heard. I know there are people that still hate to hate and won’t believe what he says.
Writing was on the wall for a while. It might have been cynical or just the opinion of a hater, but people have been pointing out that there was some BS going on for years. It's just hard to critique when the dude definitely has helped a lot more people in ways we can't imagine. Ah well, shit tumbles down eventually.
Even without the allegations. It’s just so many products so fast. Like we quickly went from ghost kitchen burger place to like 3 more things. Lunchly sounds like it was only conceived to be marketed to kids and they can beg their parents for it.
The first time I watched a Mr. Beast video, I was really put off. Anyone who films themselves doing charity ain’t as charitable as they want you to believe. And when he smiles, there’s nothing behind those eyes. Really spooky. When I happened on the Avocado Animation videos on Mr. Beast, I was like “finally, someone else gets it!” LOL
I read a short story a few years back about a man who donated a bunch of money and tried as hard as possible to remain anonymous because he felt most charity was done for recognition of doing good, not for doing good. The recipient eventually tracks him down and he reflects on how he was actually selfish because he didn't cover his tracks well enough. I can't find it anymore but I remember that message whenever I see anyone making a public display of doing charity.
The phenomenon of rich guys being criticized and pivoting straight to a-hole in response remains as true and natural as the sun's heat. "And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God."

It helps Vedal is usually always with her so Neuro always has someone to bounce off or she’s in a weird situation like being in space. She might not be for you and that’s ok, but I think even she exhibits more of a personality than Mr Beast. And she is quite literally an AI I feel the soul mostly comes from Vedal, developing an AI which was only originally meant to play OSU becoming what she is today is really cool. Seeing an AI beat games is kinda neat, but I think it’s the dynamic between her and Vedal and her collaborators that keep people coming back more than anything
That's kind of the reason why his rise to fame feels so baffling to me. I can understand Markiplies, I can understand Asmongold, I can even understand Tyler1 and many, MANY others. I have nothing with MrBeast. The only rational explanation for MrBeast I have is that he is the Antichrist and his rise to fame is straight up just the result of supernatural demonic activity.
Jacksepticeye was right about Mr.Beast ruining youtube. It used to be about fun. I remember when people made incredible short films with nothing but a Canon DSLR camera and those small boom mics that came with them. Machinima and original animated shorts made by two guys in a basement that didnt look incredible but was some of the funniest stuff out there. Then Google stopped being about innovation and more about money and then bought TH-cam and the platform mutated.
It’s wild to me how many people have been coming out of the woodwork critiquing Mr. Beast lately… and everything they’re saying is generally right… but none of them are even mentioning the BIGGEST problem which is him and his friends interacting wildly inappropriate with minors!
To me the people who start criticizing him now of all times are not much better than him. It was ultimately still their choice to get involved in his business, no matter the circumstances. Any sensible person would have spotted the vanity and insecurity from miles away, so honestly they only have themselves to blame when things do go awry.

Unironically this, if anything I see the collapse of his well-crafted social image as a good sign that he's finally maturing. It'll be a long ways yet before he reaches full maturity, but it's a step in the right direction. It's better to be honest about who you are first and foremost, for any virtuous facade you build as a public image means nothing when it's nothing but a shell to hide hypocrisy. I would say no to going to one of Jimmy’s competitions purely from the nightmare shit I’ve heard about it. Women being sexually assaulted, injuries that make you go to the hospital, and the obvious things like no showers, bland food (for me I couldn’t eat most of it due to me having celiacs), you’ll probably be sleep deprived too. Idk I just more self respect to torture myself on camera for Jimmy to get views for money. That and I would question if I’d even get the money since we’ve seen he has a history of this with the thousand eye surgeries.
I remember heard it from somewhere "Your body cannot be fix once it's broken, so you have to keep it healthy" I find the parallel here interesting because yeah you can absolutely get surgery or donor after you get the money, but it'll be pointless pain to go through just to have the money go down to bring your body back up

To paraphrase what I commented in a different video: Doki's probably thinking: "Huh. A formerly beloved streaming entity falling off fast due to some sketchy allegations? Where have I seen that before?"
Forgive the parallels because the word has been overused, but that Mr. Beast ragebait honestly does sound like making fun of a clown. Where do you even start? His hair? His clothes? His makeup? There's too many options at once.
Remember when he tweeted about running for president as soon as he was old enough and almost *everyone* sheered him on. Then, if I remember the timeline right, just days later shit started to unfold and immediately his public image and people’s opinions shifted (aside from his core loyal fanbase).
Its honestly crazy seeing how famous can just keep away with their terrible actions, from actors, singers and now influencers. Mr beast can get away with all the mistreatment and abuse within his company, employing someone he knew was a sx offender and let him be around kids, not doing anything about kris ava behavior when it has been proven he knew about it before the discussion went mainstream and many more other things. I always hated his videos for making people in need perform for him to give them money, that aint charity thats exploitation
One of my issues with the charity work is the fact it’s often used as a shield from criticism. Another issue I have with it is it being used as content to gain far more revenue than he would have actually put into the charity work. Third issue is that it’s looking more and more like the charity is often “charity”, not actually doing as much as it’s portrayed to be doing or even pulling people away from legitimate charities like with the blind kids situation.
"Any publicity is good publicity" is a quote from a time when getting your name out was way, way harder than it's currently. Also the adage is attributed to P. T. Barnum along with "there's a sucker born every minute." If you're not a 19th century showman, prioritize your brand perception over brand recognition.
Even the 15th ranked youtuber is making a ton of money. You don't need to be erasing your personality, and hurting people to squeeze out more views. Even when he talks, he doesn't sound like he cares about people, it is all just numbers to him.
It's Nice Guy syndrome. He presents himself as altruistic and selfless in these humanitarian acts but it's ALL for the sake of his brand and not the people it helps. Nice people aren't always kind and kind people aren't always nice.
7:58 I think this is why I’ve always found his content grating. The self-insert bit doesn’t work for a HOST. People liked Ryan Seacrest on American idol because he had a bit of personality while still allowing the actual talent to shine. (I’m talking about 2000’s AI, not whatever modern nonsense they’re doing)
And only now did a big supermarket chain in my country start to collaborate with him to exclusively offer Feastables. I really wonder for how long they are going to keep up with that now lol. I give it 2 months at most, they barely even advertise it.
Thing is once the controversies broke. People went back to look at his old content and realized the never honored or left most things in shambles once he moved on. And he scammed a lot of the charities he worked with.
You could make a fantastic movie about the digital age with a Mr Beast-like character as the focus, and other social media figures talking about him a la Citizen Kane.
I’ve always felt like Team Seas was his turning point. After the wild success of Team Trees, he turned around a few months later with Team Seas asking for more money which never sat right with me

The technique team seas uses to clean trash is causing more damage to ocean ecosystems than it helps. most of the life in the open ocean lives at the surface or the bottom. team seas is literally a troll net being dragged on the surface. it has killed a shit load of surface dweling organisms.

I’m talking about the guy who “gave away” something like 90% of his company…
But that’s not what he did at all… anyone who just slightly looks into it sees that it wasn’t charitable and was just a way to avoid massive inheritence taxes all the while building one of the greatest concentration of political power that his descendents will be able to live off of for eternity. There was 0 charitable intention
He says "He spent seven days in Romania underground city." but it turns out that "underground city" was an underground amusement park.

Mr Beast situation is indeed crazy
This shit literally feels like an anime arc with how quick this stuff happened despite how much has happened
The whole Mr. Beast thing is just the embodiment of: "you either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villan"

@@KikayaAi I don't really like neurosama tbh, i find it soulless. The fact that people like it so much makes me worry a little bit, like the standards are really low. But idk, maybe i'm too old fro the new wave of media.
@@Justa_Clipper I was at first interested to see how she grows, which I still am and she has a lot in the last year. But I really think what makes Neuro work is Vedal, her creator, being an entertainer and creating a character Neuro can play. A childish, brat type who says what she wants for content and that leads a lot of great interactions. It helps Vedal is usually always with her so Neuro always has someone to bounce off or she’s in a weird situation like being in space. She might not be for you and that’s ok, but I think even she exhibits more of a personality than Mr Beast. And she is quite literally an AI
I feel the soul mostly comes from Vedal, developing an AI which was only originally meant to play OSU becoming what she is today is really cool. Seeing an AI beat games is kinda neat, but I think it’s the dynamic between her and Vedal and her collaborators that keep people coming back more than anything
@KikayaAi I agree, the only clips that I saw and liked were more about vedal trying to make her make sense than about neurosama itself.
I appreciate that whenever Doki is unable to put her thoughts into words she just starts laughing.
Mr. Beast videos feel like "Content". As in, it's something contained within a pre-packaged meal.
He lost himself in numbers.
Maybe people have way way over expectations of him. After all since the start all he wants is viral vid and views.
That's kind of the reason why his rise to fame feels so baffling to me. One day for no reason at all I wake up, he is the biggest youtuber and his content is unbearable slop made by a man with all the charisma of a drywall. And I think to myself... "How?"
Like, I can understand how PewDiePie rose to prominence, for example, his content was never really my cup of tea, but I understand the appeal.
@@bladewolf39 he wasn't right though, that happened before MrBeast became a thing. He is the symptom, not the cause.

I think there are so many fronts of criticism towards him that this aspect gets behind. Any other content creators would be cut out for that shit
From what I uderstand, dogpack404 still has a final video to release (he rushed his third), and he did mention something like that would be in it.
To me the people who start criticizing him now of all times are not much better than him. It was ultimately still their choice to get involved in his business, no matter the circumstances.

Idk I just more self respect to torture myself on camera for Jimmy to get views for money. That and I would question if I’d even get the money since we’ve seen he has a history of this with the thousand eye surgeries.
I remember heard it from somewhere "Your body cannot be fix once it's broken, so you have to keep it healthy"
I find the parallel here interesting because yeah you can absolutely get surgery or donor after you get the money, but it'll be pointless pain to go through just to have the money go down to bring your body back up
The lesson here is to choose your friends carefully. And boy did he choose the wrong one.

I think it's not charity if you are doing a video on it, especially if you are a big creator. In the Mr Beast case, clearly that worked as a shield

7:58 I think this is why I’ve always found his content grating. The self-insert bit doesn’t work for a HOST.
