Wonderful that he plays this in concert. The album version is such a masterpiece, and takes you to a place that you would not otherwise would not want to go. Stunning.
He played the whole of BTR this night how lucky I was to hear it in its entirety…. This has always been a fave and never thought I’d ever hear it live. Being in Australia we are so far away and don’t get to see him as much as you guys in the USA and Europe❤️
If you tell me I can have only one Springsteen song to listen to, this is the one. Always wondered why it never showed up in the closing credits of an episode of "The Sopranos."
I have only been a Bruce fan in the last few years. I went to this show and had no idea that I was listening to a masterpiece at the time. I really regret not knowing BTR before this night. He might never play it again.
I finally saw this in 2009 the first time they played the entire BTR album in Chicago. I had not realized Gary Talent had not played bass on the album version. Richard Davis did and also played on The Angel. At the time, he was teaching at University of Wisconsin and came to play upright bass on the song. I also saw him play it in Milwaukee later on the tour.
This is the only recording I know of of this outstanding but rarely performed Springsteen song, and you're complaining about quality? Thanks to PaulT for posting it.
I've loved this song since I first heard it in the mid 70's as a teen.
And the trumpetist is freaking awesome!

How rare it is for any artist to put this much 'drama' in a four minute song. Gotta love Bruce!

Mine would be the next song, but this is a great great choice
Absolute favorite from The Boss.
Because it was the Sopranos.
Little Steven was pushing for David Chase to end the show with Loose Ends, but Don't Stop Believing worked very well.
As haunting a tune as I've ever heard.

Brilliant!
Same that trumpet

The desperation... This should have been part of a Broadway play.
Cool horn
Tension
