- A VLOG of my venture to finding a new pair of Dickies, as well as getting a new tattoo. I own several pairs of the Dickies 874 Work Pants. The "stiffness" of the pants- make them difficult to "break in". I wanted to thank Joel Jimenez for telling me about the "softer" Dickies 850 Slim Taper Flex Pants. I've been wearing Dickies for 25 years. They are all stiff like the sock under your bed when you first buy them. You gotta break 'em in and wash 'em a few times. In a few months they will be the softest, most comfortable pants you own, and they last forever. I dont know what number they are, but I stick to the classic 4 pocket, no kneepads, no cargo.

I've never heard of the 850 before, but Dickies have so many different styles of pants these days, compared to when it was basically just the 874. They've got we872, wp918, wp801, wp811, 818, 872, 873, 875, cp918 and probably more.

shants = short pants. I usually cut the double knee dickies down to stitching and they turn out to be long enough shorts for me, I like my shorts to be below the knee.

Steve, you know dickies has a website, right? They also have an exceptional customer service line where they’ll help you get the fit you’re looking for and allow you to send them back free of charge if you’re not happy with what you got.
Also, dickies are always stiff when you first get them. You just wash and dry them and then they’re good. They’re kind of like raw denim, they break down more and more as you wear them.

yoooooooo this happened to me last year! dickies changed stuff up for some reason. after some research they indeed sell slim tapered dickies at tillys. i spent 300 bucks stocking up on them just in case they get rid of these shits as well
