John Britten did a similar thing back in the 90's, He ducted the air through his frame so it exited into the low pressure area under the seat in front of the rear wheel.

there is a fine line here. I remember the dustbin fairing was outlawed because, although it was incredibly efficient, it made the machines very susceptible to sidewinds.

Really interesting. Nice application on the scooters. I think we'll eventually end up with alternative fuel ICE engines in bikes due to the range issues. Important to show that it can contribute to significant emission reductions.

We should have air tunnels like this also in cars and trucks. 👍😇

I absolutely, bloody love this. Very smart. Some people here are not watching this to the end; the concept has been taken to the real world to reduce drag on police bikes by 40%. Put your handbags away boys; nobody's taking a way your smelly toys, just broaden your minds a little.

It looks more like an aircraft carrier than a bike. How are you supposed to negotiate Ramsey hairpin with that? I seriously suggest you try a lap on the TT course..

Put wings on it and make the wheels slim and small then use jet propolstion electricpower make a motorcycle for low speed and it flys/glides at over a certain speed.

Very interesting. First , I couldn't bend my legs like that! And second, that's bloody fast!

All been done before.. same old re-hashing of concepts with new money. There's a reason why this stuff has never been used in racing or on public roads. It just doesn't work outside of a test environment.

"....it just doesn't work outside of a test environment" yet. Materials, manufacturing processses etc etc is all developing at some point we will see the idea behind this and previous iterations be successful. Most successful designs we take for granted had many failed attemots before finally becoming a success.

@@hermanhandlebars2687 lol…true but then was a time when folks said cars would never be more popular than horse and cart as a mode of transport and yet here we are. I’m no Mystic Meg but looking at how car, plane and boat design and construction has changed over the years, I cant believe we’ll see the same shaped bikes in the future ( and by that I mean we may see more funky designs like this i the future as long as the power unit / tech is equally good).

You cared enough to look up this video and leave a comment on it. It’s a cool and innovative concept, e-bikes and conventional gas bikes can live alongside eachother. Nobody forces you to sell your bike or buy an e-bike.
