I did an information search. This is one of the ancient temples built in Ayuthia period. The monastery was restored by King Rama I at the beginning of Ratanakosin (Bangkok). This is considered a hidden huge gem, right there beside the royal palace but hidden well from the mass of tourism. Maybe it's because the monastery is constantly used extensively by the contented Bangkokian Buddhists who desire to exclude their place for practice / meditation from being crowded by tourists so there's no recommendation for this beautiful monastery among tourism spots.
Comment like this may be from our neighbors who feels unhappy about the comment how do you know Farang want sex only they can shopping eat thai food go to the beach..bra..bra..
This is Exciting to see. I walked many times around Sanam Luang and Never go look in this beautiful Temple Complex. Shameless. Now You are our Guide. Thanks. 🙏
OMG, I was there, walking, passing it, peeked inside the entrance, but I was not sure it was a private area and allowed to go inside, so I passed, (but it is a place of silence and meditation, not 200 tourists walking there and taking pictures :) )
Thank you Jeroen for the virtual tour of one of the 10 highest class royal temples in Bangkok. Incredible its interior and the images of Buddha. Although I have not been to Bangkok, so far the one I liked the most is the one near the new giant statue under construction, Wat Paknam Bhasicharoen.👍
Wow 🤩! Wunderschöne Tempelanlage🛕 direkt neben Sanam Luang. Alles so gepflegt und sauber. Danke für Dein Video und die Google Maps Wegebeschreibung 🙏🏻!
Wow such a beautiful place, i been there 3 yrs ago (no pandemic yet) unfortunately we didn't visit this area we had a shortime stay hopefully when pandemic ends can go back. Amazing place my friend

Wow!!! Been here in Bangkok since March and I really haven't been around that much. Thank you for the leads. Now I want to take up biking and really explore
It was beautiful, thanks. I haven’t heard that phrase: “my iron stead” for many years. It’s not a poetic phrase that they use in Canada. Have you been to the sect that has a UFO temple?

Are they open to public or do you have special permission to enter?
The temples are open.
Great! Thank you!
Very nice, so peaceful. Thank you.
Awesome area!
The woman in the white cloth is a Buddhist nun (Mae Chee), not a female monk (Bhikkhuni).
👍👍👍
I considered to come, may I know the entrance fee?

This monastery is educational served as Buddhism Theravada University, so it is not fully opened for tourism.
One of my favorite places in Bangkok. Thank you. What is the name of the Buddha you are not allowed to take pictures of, at this site, I think?
Shame on me. I never been to this place.
