  • Dr. Jordan Rogers continues preaching through The Book of Genesis in this sermon from Genesis 39:1-23 entitled, "The Prevailing Purpose of God."
Psalm 33:11 says, “The counsel of the LORD stands forever, the plans of His heart to all generations.”
The Lord’s purpose will always prevail! This is clearly seen in the life of Joseph, who was subjected to various and awful circumstances so that, by the Lord’s design, he would rise up in the house of Pharaoh and save the nation of Israel from destruction due to worldwide famine in those days. We can, and should, take great comfort in fact that neither hardship, persecution, nor dire circumstances can derail the purpose of God!
The following is a sermon from Genesis 39:1-23 and below you will find the video recording and a sermon outline to help you follow along as you watch. I hope this study tool helps you grow in your love for the Lord Jesus and in your obedience to Him.

I went from tears of grief because of my mother's hurting and bitterness... because of my father's aldultery and repentence ... to the joy of our God who is with us in His sovereign plans. What a sermon🔥! "Let's preach now!"
Blessings of our Lord, asked and prayed for at the Cape Verdian Islands 🌴

Thanks for the sermon. Looking at Genesis 19:10 it seems that not only his mother was beautiful, but his father Jacob was strong 'Jacob came near and rolled the stone of the well's mouth'. So, yeah, you're right. Good looks ran in the family. I never noticed these things before.

God was certainly with Joseph, but is Joseph's righteousness completely attributable to God? Did not Joseph require a willing heart in order for God to show him favor?
