      Hi Lori,
      I have been making little journals for quite some time, but hadn’t reailed it is best to skip going through the hole straight after the centre whole when stitching back down to the bottom edge, so next time I will be able to follow your advice.
      Are you still doing any on line watercolour classes?
      How is your little puppy doing, I imagine he has grown up by now?
      Take care,
      Su
      💐😊💐
      PS sorry I called you Elvie in my first message, I forgot that Lori is your real name. 🤦‍♀️

      I'm still struggling to figure out how to sew in a store bought envelope (on one side) into the signature and spine. Cannot find any tutorials on this. Do you have Any suggestions? I would be so greatful! Thank you! 💖

    • @lorivliegen4850
      @lorivliegen4850 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Andi, it's Lori with Elvie Studio....unfortunately, I don't know of any tutorials, but I think I would try carefully taking the envelope apart along the glue lines, then sewing it in with your signature along the bottom fold line, and then folding and gluing the envelope back together once everything is sewn. (hope that makes sense!) You might also try taking an envelope apart and using it as a template to cut your own envelope from any paper you want....that would be super cute with scrapbook papers. Hey, I may try that myself! Have fun! xox

      @andirozdzynski4077 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much Lori!
      I was hoping that there was another "secret" way. But that must be the only way. Perhaps I'll stick to the envelope punch board and make my own envelopes to coordinate. Thank you so much for taking the time to respond!
      Blessings to you!
      💖Andi

    Hey Elvie this is the best tutorial I've found! thank you! I was in a little bookbinding class and learned how to do this and I was so happy to find your refresher so clearly done. My Problem: In the class, we made 2 of these signatures, then sewed them together. Now I cannot remember or figure out how we did that, even though I have my journal as a guide. I"m losing my mind. Can you help?

    • @lorivliegen4850
      @lorivliegen4850 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Betsy, thanks so much for your kind words about my video! The double signature pamphlet booklets are a lot of fun to make. I found this video that explains it in great detail, and I'm hoping it will serve as a refresher from the class you took. He loops the thread around the previous stitch as he sews....a very interesting addition I've never seen before! The double pamphlet tutorial begins about 14 minutes into the video...good luck and have fun! Lori at ElvieStudio th-cam.com/video/FZB0rNtrAHg/w-d-xo.html

      hi chris! to tear the paper, i hold a long metal yardstick firmly on the paper and then tear up against the edge of the ruler. you can also use a ruler and a sharp blade if you'd rather cut the paper instead of tearing it. either way, i hope you enjoy creating your new booklet!
