      Josh. Whether he's right or he's wrong there's a time and a place to say it and I don't care what you defend him on you're not going to win this argument not that you want to.
      Also if you're going to get on Billy Napier for getting on the fans there's no business for you defending you freeze for getting all these players. It's the job of the coaches to get those players ready.

      @@rolandmiller5456 you can get a player ready all day everyday but when he's in practice lightning it up then comes to game day and he's doing everything that he's not supposed to do in every game at that point it's on the player not the HC it's either you got it or you don't. it's not a time and a place to say things when you want to get threw to your players, that they gotta step they game up. What josh said about billy I don't know nothing about that , but it's nothing wrong with being honest especially when you got a lot riding on it and you can lose your job and the guy didn't even say it in a rud way he was still being respectable about it and some how some way y'all make this something big the fact that this deserves a reaction is so crazy it's so unnecessary

    The problem is yes they are college kids, however, in today's NIL world they are paid to play for the college. When it was just the coaches getting paid all the blame is on their heads with NIL I don't see that to hold true anymore. Like in the Pros, the players are held accountable because they make a paycheck for what they do. These "Kids" are getting paid to play football for the college they should be held responsible as much as the coach is for poor performance.

    • @shuvlhd78
      @shuvlhd78 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      It’s the manner in which the HC holds them accountable. If the player is coachable then he will take what and how the HC spoke about (publicly or privately) relative to his performance to heart, and focus on improvement. However, if there’s a weaker element in him or generally within the locker room, then toxicity can grow, even from those players that weren’t directly targeted by the HC. Team unity is critical during challenging times. Paid or not, these kids are 18-22 years old and things can easily get off the rails.

    • @Diovolente
      @Diovolente หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Wrong. NFL is completely different these are kids who are literally still developing as players. Getting paid now doesn’t change that fact. As a head coach your job is to get your players prepared and ready to play both physically and mentally. If they fail on the field it shows in certain ways. Some things are players performance and others are lack of preparation and development from a coaching staff. He knows and those players know they all need to be better. Throwing them under the bus like that basically sounds like a guy who feels the heat on his seat and is tryna save his ass

    Freeze was right. You can't fix a problem unless you can identify what's wrong. He's just acknowledging that they have to address the turnover issue. The suggestion that you shouldn't criticize the players went out the window when the NIL money came in.

    • @skipgumphrey9579
      @skipgumphrey9579 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I’m thinking the issue is with the way it was done. One of the earliest things I learned during my career in the military was that you praise in public and punish in private.
      I mean that when you’re dealing with an individual or a couple individuals. If you have an entire team then it’s different; you can simply say “we” need to do…
      When you basically call out the QB on national television, a lot of folks are going to consider this as throwing the players they’ve tried at QB under the bus. I don’t have a personal problem with any of it though, I’m sure they’ll get things sorted out one way or another. I just wanted to add an extra potential viewpoint to consider as to why some folks might be upset about it.

    Despite what the fans might think, I think Auburn’s team can turn this around. The only reason Auburn has been losing games is because of self-inflicted things that I know they can change. I felt like Auburn played better overall than Cal and Arkansas, but turning the ball over 5 times in each game won’t win anything no matter how many yards you gain. Defensively, 3rd and long killed Auburn and most of them were because of extremely lucky throws or horrible flags from the refs.
    All I’m saying is Auburn could very easily be 4-0 right now if only a few things went differently in each game, because Auburn did not get beat from a talent standpoint and the non-turnover stats back me up

    I bleed orange and blue, and I'm only 28. Only ever known manic highs and manic lows with Auburn. Football season is pain every year. Hard to not just be apathetic at this point. We have a vastly superior talent roster to Arkansas and Cal (and NMSU), but we can't win a raffle. It would be embarrassing if I had anything directly to do with it.
    Hugh is right though. His scheme is working. He can't make qbs not suck and rbs not fumble. Defensively though, getting burned on 3 down linemen appears to be a progrum identity thing for us at this point. Right up there with losing to everyone who isn't FCS.
    Hugh is building a winner, but dang, I'm soooo tired boss. UGA and Bama being untouchable doesn't make it any better (Bama for my whole adult life). Lmk when we don't suck. Until then, I'll stick to obscure sports like women's soccer and golf that we win at.

      “Vastly superior”? Hmmmm not sure about that. But If that’s true, Auburn is in a deeper hole than I thought. But I hear this a lot. “We played bad. Or We suck”. Saban said that a lot. Never gave the opposing team credit for playing good. It’s just, “we played bad”. Just maybe the other team had something to do with you playing bad? I can say that both ways. I would not say Arkansas defense was lights out, nor was auburns. But 7.1 yards per play vs 4 yards per play is a decent indicator of disparity.

      Bama was back in year 2 under Saban. Also, the program was on probation during the Shula years, he wasn't a bad coach, he just wasn't great. Freeze has thus far botched it. He definitely should have gotten a QB from the portal. They would still have issues, but at least they wouldn't have the fiasco they have now at QB.

    As a Mena Arkansas Razorback fan I will say this . That was like no auburn football team I have ever seen. Complete lack of motivation from the head coach. Bring back punishment sprints like we had at Mena high school. Remember the titans style. Get a flag, jump offsides, throw an interception , or get a technical you will run a mile for each one. The captain goes down with his ship. Great content sir, as a hog fan. I hope we can put it together. Usually if we have a QB we don't have a kicker or vice versa. However this year we have neither.
