Filipina here and honestly, our traditions may have an effect on our voices. We LOVE karaoke. Every house will have/share a karaoke machine. Every gathering, karaoke is a NEED.

In the Philippines most singer learned to sing and improve Thier vocals in karaoke machines,some dipping in drum of water...regines vocals started in a drum of water...and Filipinos are excellent in mimicking...no trainings or vocal lessons but yet they emerged as good singers...but the real secret is singing is just a hobby for most Filipinos,singing in the kitchen,in the bathroom,I mean you can sing anywhere,any occasion and then you voice is trained eventually...
Fun fact filipino loves to sing that in every ocation like birthdays,Christmas,new year, etc.we sing and it doesn't matter if we're off tune we still sing. We sing in what we call karaoke or video oke where we can sing any song we like 😊

Filipinos start singing at the very young age without voice lessons, just by listening Western and Latin musics, and singing in Karaoke at home or at parties. People in musical theatres or classical singers are the ones taking voice lessons, but Pop, Ballad, Rock, Rap just practice singing on their own, kind of inane talent..
You ask why Filipinos are good at singing? It's 'cause we sing all the time, when we're cooking, when we're taking a bath, or when there's nothing else to do.
I think one thing that we do. Base on my own experience though im not a perfect singer. Is that most filipinos are good at mimicking. Like when i study a song i always watch over and over to copy how they pronounce the word and I tried it over and over until i know it. And i always listen to it for nuances and teachniques that they do to applied it for myself. Everyday i sing it or tried to syncronized with it without a voice look how thier mouth are positioned in every word. And thats it.
