hello there, no it doesn’t cost anything, you just need to release your own music via music distribution service (like CD Baby or Distrokid or others there are some free ones too) they all offer an option to claim your personal YT channel then they make a request to YT to turn your channel into an official artist channel. are producing music?
@Meow69-ft i believe you need to distribute your own music via distributor services like i said earlier (1 or 3 I’m not sure) but before you need to upload your music to your personal channel then your distributor will upload your music to TH-cam Music under your artist name (TH-cam will create a Topic channel automatically) once your music is posted to TH-cam Music via distributor you will be able to claim your personal channel via your distributor and within a few days YT will verify your channel. I think you better search on TH-cam for that topic before doing anything to get a clear answer. hopefully that will help you. thank you 😊
