Buddyman show me a trick back in the 80s what you do is you take bathtub with sugar water soak the felt hat let it dry shape it and I'm telling you it doesn't hurt it makes it hard as a rock it's awesome

I read the Amazon reviews, and some of them say that the product fails. That they did follow instructions exactly according to the instructions on the bottle and that came with the bottle. Any suggestions? As well, I read one of the reviews andsaid that he sort another, that reviewer stated that on another TH-cam video, another hat specialist used clear shellac spray to stiffen his hat, and that did the perfect stiffening. Has anyone had that experience?
please mention the type of sponge to use, as well as where to get the golf hat stiffner. I own a hat the style you are working on, in fact two Stetson Hats, one from my grandfather and the other that I got at a bargain at the Pard's Western Store in Urbana Illinois.
I collect vintage Stetson hats from the 1950s because they are soft and can be reshaped by hand. It never occurred to me that I would want to stiffen them and don't see the need, especially for the fine hat in this video.
I definitely see your point,however, I did stiffen mine that way it would be almost impossible for it to bend or get reshaped. And after getting rained on a lot it holds mighty fine.

Been rained on and everything and it went flat so I received it with stain and iron and just wondering what brand After I have reshaped it what brand do you recommend as your preference or your favorite... Thank you also it's a little tight I've had it for 20 some years So is there a way to stretch it out other than the hat stretcher just with steam ?

I've used sta flo starch and a steam iron. Worked and didn't stain. Quick cheap fix.

Can you use that product on wool felt hats?
Yes, I have used it on wool. But it won't last as long. Wool doesn't hold its shape as well as fur felt.
