17:13 You're just saying one instance. It's uncommon to feed strangers directly from hands. Like Syntel said it's mostly our mum, aunties or grandmums who feed us directly when we are kids. And also grown ups refuse to take from anyone, maybe they'll from their partners.
I've not seen any Street food vendor feeding customers directly except this one PAAN thing.
And that too most likely because it is on fire, and someone might burn themselves🤔
yeah fire paan is usually fed directly because there's a fire on that thing and customers may or may not have the confidence to put it in their mouth as fast and it might burn away.other than that no i do not want to eat from some random strangers hand. family is one thing strangers are another.

For the sake of argument , let us assume they were talking about "eating directly with hands".
On the one hand, you are defending eating with hands but on the other hand you are saying that you feel the same way when people eat with spoons, forks, etc. Do you not see the irony of your statement?
Oh yeah... Rachel's amazing combination of Shepherd's pie and English trifle. I was in my early 20s when I first watched that Friends episode and knew almost nothing about cooking yet, but even I recognised that ladies fingers do not go with banana and jam. Forget the non-veg portions. It was quite weird!
A few rare street vendors make better food than the best restaurants, of course, but it requires a lot of experience and a ton of luck to identify such masters. I have had the good fortune of eating in 3 such places over the years. Sadly, two of them are no longer in business while the third appears to be working out of a different dimension...only visible when I whiz by on some urgent business.

Actually feeding someone directly is a sign of trust and compassion. The person in the video had to feed him directly due to the fire. Or the consumer would have procrastinated eating because of the fear of burns.
Even in India, family and frnds feel comfortable feeding food.. even here most of the ppl do not like a stranger feeding except a few ppl who don't mind doing that..

I will never let any street vendor feed me directly...
But i think in small restaurants where they don't use gloves for handling food items, when you ask for food items like ice cream they use their hands before wrapping the paper or foil around the cone... So there is always a direct contact in many street food items. If the item is not deep fried after the contact then it is always unhygienic to eat it directly.

16:53 your point is actually correct, but the problem in India is that glowes and all the hygienic things are very very expensive, enough that the vendor will have to serve 12 people to get 1 pair of gloves (profit only), and also the vendors makes the food items with washed hands. In India we dont use a spoon in everything, its just not the tradition, swtiching the food items from the clean hand of vendor to a dusty hand of the buyer is not good (unhealthy) for wet appetizers. If you come to India just make sure that the vendor is certified and has a water tank besides him at all times.

Hello, I'm an Indian. I have been living in Mumbai India since my childhood(23 years) and I have never come across such things. As soon as I watched this video my reaction was the same, who eats such things. Whoever is promoting such videos, I think they get something in return too. That's totally impossible.
