    Great video! Glad I came across it. So much easier than the owner's manual made it out to be!

    Perfect. Was watching this before reconnecting the deck so I could see the reverse of putting it back up. Wish I had found yours before the removal. It would have been easier than the other videos I watched. Thx

    Hi and thanks for the informative video. I bought a Craftsman T240 over 4 years ago and have been happy with its quality and performance, but yesterday experienced my first issue. When engaging/disengaging the blades, it’s now making a harsh metal-to-metal screech which I need to diagnose and (hopefully) repair. If you have any thoughts, I’d appreciate your wisdom. While I’m at it, I’ll replace the blades but am unsure if the blade bolts are right hand or left hand thread. The owners manual doesn’t say. Thanks again from a new subscriber.

      Yeah few things come to mind. I'll start with the simplest and progress to the more complicated. If you're hearing metal it could be something as simple as the deck metal is bent in somewhere and catching a blade as a blade spins. Or it could be that a blade is bent and hitting part of the deck. Other things it could be is the bearings in the spindles( the blades are attached to the spindle shafts) it could be the bearings in the tensioner pulleys. Besides that there's some Oddball issues it could be such as something on top of the deck being bent and rubbing a pulley. I hope this helps and thanks for the comment

    just wondering if after removing the deck can you replace the belt if needed

  • @SeanWMODonnell
    @SeanWMODonnell 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Put wood under it, screwdriver, torque bar, impact, penetrate spray. In the end, had to take the deck off to replace the blades.
    Edit. 4 pins for the deck + cable, 1 spring. ONE of three deck pins was an old school bend yourself. I had to cut it with a dremel cutting disc. It took an hour to give up on it.....

    Thanks for the info. Do you have a video on leveling the T210 deck?

    • @yourpro3653
      @yourpro3653  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're welcome. I don't but I will put that on the list of videos to make in the future. I would say at least 70% of my customers that have uneven cutting issues are related to bad blades. Usually one of the blades is bent or severely worn. I can try to help you diagnose it through the comments if you would like. How long have you had the mower and when did you first notice an issue with it cutting uneven?

      Haha, I was just doing this to show that it is simple. When I'm pulling decks I typically don't use them because I'm faster without them especially when I'm not using my other hand to film. Thanks for watching and commenting I appreciate it!

      @@yourpro3653 It really wasn’t that painful to watch. It actually was motivational for me because now I know a guy that has done it before did it using only one arm and no tools in under 10 minutes. Should take me twice as long at the most.
