Alison grew up in the same small town that I did. She sang and played as a teen in a band during the same years my own dad had a band in the area. She could melt a heart even at that young age. I love her soft, seemingly effortless, tender voice, a voice easily recognizable among all other female vocalists. I could listen to her all day every day. Thank you, small town girl.

No one compares to Alison's angelic vocals, I can listen for hours and do nothing else. A true gift to our human race!

Alison has an amazing voice and I've been a fan for over 20 years but whenever someone posts that "no one compares" I have to wonder if they've actually heard many of the vocalists around the world (many that don't sing in English) that are every bit as good.

She was the #1 Grammy winner till Beyonce, now she's #2. I think she worked harder than Beyonce ever did.
It comes naturally to some. Other have to work hard for it. That's just life. They're both great. And as they say, there just taint much between #1 and #2.
There has never been anyone who comes even close to her. There have been a few good vocalists our there but Alison is in a whole other class in terms of creativity and delivery and personality. Lucky to have been alive to hear her!
The late Kate Wolf was very good also. Give her a try. She was also a songwriter.
It's hard to rate singers, voices.. it's not sports, can't be measured. A case for best singer could be made for many great ladies, like Linda Ronstead, Karen Carpenter, Whitney, Celine.. Even Joan Baez is the best in her unique special way. It's down to personal preferences. But Alison is up there no doubt.

There is one clinker of a song in there that made me go wha?? Guess she can make a bad one. All the rest superb though.
Rick Bullock I think she flats often, listen to “Forget About It.” I think they ended up changing the tuning on that song.
But I really have to say there is no one I listen to more. I really enjoy her overall artistry. But it is her singing that gets me the most.
I love the song (I’m giving the wrong title) “A Hundred Miles or More.” (I’m too lazy to look up the correct title, but I’ve seen I’m not alone in this) - I love the instrumentation in it and I really love her delivery.
Yesterday, I heard her sing a song on my Alison Krauss Pandora radio station that I’ve never heard before. It was truly musically interesting to me and I cannot find it now! Very frustrating.
I also think there must have been a great advance in microphones from her early work to her later works. She sounded a bit brassy in earlier albums. I also think she learned how to take advantage of her unique talents from then to what has become her most recent sound. Her delivery has become so much more effective.
Having Dan and the Union Station band: Ron Block, Jerry Douglas, Barry Bales, as I mentioned first, Dan Tyminski and Larry Atamanuik can’t get get much better. These are a list of top players and, with Alison, just amaze me. They are so tight. But as anyone can hear in this compilation she shines no matter who she teams up with in her songs.
She’s just a wonderful artist and I really appreciate this upload. Thank you for taking your time to share this with all of us.
