    That is the best Mike Menzter quote! In my opinion. You'll never know how good you might become, Unless you try, So let's get with it. Very inspiring indeed.

    I love when he says nature is very stingy with the gifts it hands out. Some of you are comparing your journey to someone who is superior in building muscle. Don’t even waste your time your better off not even lifting 🔥🔥🔥

      BS. Hes just another dishonest from that era that steroids were hush hush. His physique is only capable thru testosterone roids therapy. Yet he speaks as if his physique is attainable naturally thru genetics, diet and train to failure.

      @manwithausername4089 I have also heard Mentzer say on multiple recordings that just because someone has poor genetics doesn't mean they shouldn't train or that they can not achieve a healthy aesthetic physique.
      This statement actually further supports HIT training. After all if someone is not genetically gifted with muscular proportion, why would they spend hours and hours in the gym training as if they were going to be a physique athlete.

    Hi John,
    I was really fortunate to come across an article on December of 2020 that mentioned Mike Mentzer. It had a picture of him that to this day is still my favorite: a front shot with him “relaxed”. Ironically, I was doing research on Arnold S. trying to figure out what I could do to improve my gains. Needless to say, once I saw what Mentzer was all about I was enlightened on the spot. I already have his books, and always look for more of his stuff here on TH-cam. Please, do not let his legacy die. I certainly won’t.
    Hope all is well with you, sir. And thank you for uploading.

    The candle that burns twice as bright only burns half as long. Mike’s light shined bright, a true genius, a beautiful & powerful mind. I really miss him. Thank God for John keeping his memory alive & educating the newer generation who don’t know who he is and don’t realize why they’re not making gains in the gym.

    John.. I just learned that Joanne has past away... ... damn.. that sucks .... she was so friendly about sharing Mike stories.. I also did some business with her ordering products on her site... I just went to go see if there was an update on her site becuase I wanted to order some shirts but saw that she obviously had not came back to update the site.... I typed her name in to see if she had a new site or something, and saw she had past away... she was so nice to me... and even SENT ME RARE PICS of Mike from the 80 O' that showed better angles and such to prove he shoulda placed at LEAST in the top 3.. RIP Joanne...

      @@chaosdweller Actually, it makes perfect sense. Look at what the book says at 3:40 Perhaps he was chasing being able to tap into that. Also, I heard him losing the Olympia to Arnold made him snap, and after that it was all downhill from there. It's very sad because he was obviously brilliant, but it's often the great minds that end up "losing it", as I don't think a person of average intelligence is as prone to "breaking" as the more intelligent people. Their peaks and troughs just aren't as ample as a person of higher intelligence, so feelings, thoughts and emotions are blunted in comparison.

    @Joe Toth: Apologies; I hit the wrong button and your post was hidden (disappeared?) That's just my tech ignorance coming to the fore. You had asked if the story about Arthur threatening Arnold was true. I only know of it by hearsay (so you may need to look elsewhere for better confirmation), but I do recall reading of the incident in one of Ellington Darden's more recent books, so Darden (who would have been in DeLand, Florida at the time) believed it to be true.

    • @Coneman3
      @Coneman3 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes I read that. It's in the NEW HIT book by Darden, where he oddly also speaks badly of the Mentzers, particularly Mike. He threatened to kick Arnold's ass, even though he was older and a lot smaller. Just shows Arthur Jones had a lot of balls!

      @@ABABABABABABABABABABBBBBB You have to be able to do it and you have to want to also. Nothing can overcome genetics. If your 3’ tall your not going overcome those shortcomings to be a basketball player. That person might be able to have physical advantages in other places, but it is highly unlikely it will overcome that difference. There is a reason most basketball players are extremely tall. If gives them an advantage. We sometimes can’t do everything we want if we put our mind to it. Not everyone has the equipment to become a porn star either. @Lucien Tall, but not too tall have the advantage. When I met Mike Mentzer in 1979, he was 5' 8'' and I was 6' 2'' at 16 and went on to 6' 4'' (playing pro baseball rather than trying to be a bodybuilder).

    • @miyagiFTNS
      @miyagiFTNS 3 ปีที่แล้ว
