-bro, you have been playing it 24/7 non stop, full vanilla, without anything what so ever, for ten years straight and expect that you will have fun playing it for the fifth hundred time
People are just too negative and can't understand that games change
Minecraft is fun for a while, IMO. Since you make your own fun on the go but could use more tools and in depth mechanics for that so doesn't goes stale too quicky.
minecraft was originally so popular for it's simplicity, why should that change? it's hard for them to update the game to make it significant enough for players to come back, meanwhile keeping the original appeal
@@exquisicy5429 Like all games minecraft should mature with its audience meaning it should be in a sense...
More intteligent? its hard to put it
I think that one of the biggest reasons mojang hesitates to release new features is not because they are scared of evolving, but because they try to make it so everyone can continue their survival world from years ago in the newest version if the game.
They have done this with all of the recent updates, causing entirely new features rather than "evolving" old ones
Fortnite made minecraft die a bit and Roblox make it too I mean they really did fortnite literally destroyed minecraft
With the whole lack of new big stuff with old survival worlds I understand but they need to evolve the game do some stuff like how caves and cliffs changed worlds but new updates like the neather needing to be new chunks but a solution is make a way to change a chunk to a new state and it just requires a lot of materials to make it so you don’t need to travel 1 million blocks for new trunks
@@danyal_assi I don't think Fortnite affected Minecraft in any negative way as when it was becoming popular Minecraft was in it was already in it's dark phase of people not acknowledging that the 1.11 and 1.12 updates are actually good, if anything it gave Minecraft a boost from people saying how cringe Fortnite is and saying that Minecraft is way better instead. Also Roblox was affected way worse by Fortnite than Minecraft ever was, I'm kind of sure that without the success of Fortnite the investors wouldn't want rthro neoclassic Stevie standard as much.

@@sufyansmits6410 Sorry, reading back even I don't know wtf I meant
I used to play minecraft with my brother for hours, just messing around in creative mode. Now, the game has lost it's charm. Whenever i play now, i can barely get past building a house before quitting. All the new silly stuff they're adding isn't really driving me to revisit the game, and the game just feels bland and boring now. It's finally great for someone to address the real flaws with the game, and remember, I am in your walls.
I used to play it on console until they release bedrock it made me not play it that much
@@spunkysamuel they have grown up that's why people keep saying videogames are not what they used to be. I have never once ( as far as I can remember) been a serious Minecraft player. And I always get bored when playing the game and quit but then revisit it. But with the recent updates( Im talking about 1.16 and 1.20), the game has become more relaxing and enjoyable to me as a bedrock and Minecraft player. The new soundtracks that they added to the overworld and the nether are incredible and great to the point where, as I said, I feel calm and relaxed.
truest, most relatable minecraft take i've ever heard
90% of the stuff they add is useless/decorative bloat now
I agree. The biggest issue with the new stuff is it has no depth. It can only be used for one niche.
Take redstone as an example of a feature added with depth. People are still finding new uses. The sniffer's plants on the other hand, I'm not so sure. As a builder I love their looks, but that’s all their utility.
“Useless” and “decorative” are not synonyms, “decorative” itself is a use
You are complaining about a SANDBOX game getting more decorative blocks...
In my opinion one of Mojang’s biggest mistakes is to not add more essential features, or revisit existing ones. I remember being so excited when 1.16 came out, and exploring an exciting new nether was some of the most fun I’ve ever had. But they keep adding features that are out of the way. Simply put, I really can’t be bothered to get a brush and go looking for trail ruins because there’s no incentive. They need to rehaul the core mobs and mechanics, whilst adding new content that is part of the story or that has a somewhat rewarding ending like a boss battle. The ancient cities were a great addition, although I would have made them generate in a less familiar environment: I feel like the caves are too easy to navigate. We need new biomes that generate frequently, new actually useful structures with good loot and a good challenge and more content that more experienced Minecraft players can complete after the main enfer dragon story. And most of all, we need to lock less content away behind extensive grinding and replace it with fun challenge.
Stop playing minecraft. You are asking minecraft to be something it isn't. You aren't supposed to need a new boss fight every update. This isn't terraria. You don't need new combat upgrades in the trail ruins. It's a building game, not genshin impact.
@@knatkniht Exactly. It’s like asking an autochess game to have an fps combat system lol
8:07 Terraria does this, and it's amazing how I can have an edgy dark wooden sword with 4 damage to accomodate my endgame set, or a sword made of literal fairy wood.
There's actually a lot of Minecraft content that was taken from Terraria, but never truly admitted/acknowledged which is sad tbh
Mewze literally just said what I knew all the time: the devs are too scared to make massive changes to the game. If they would get the game in 2010 the probably wouldnt even added new dimensions and stuff they would just add more random bullsh-- to a plain overworld...
EDIT: I also think badrock / java having same updates is a problem since what is available in java should now be easlt accesable on mobile...
They have billions. They can do whatever they want. All they need to do is just literally find a perfect line between classic fun experience and new stuff and mechanics. Its not that hard.
@@CrassulaovataThey don't really have any reason to enhance the game though. People like the way the game is updated, so it'll probably stay that way
@viniciusgoulart5077 We need some new bosses, story, mechanics that would also fit the original minecraft style, not the microsoft one
@@Crassulaovata ye if they make them interesting this would work but for some reason mojang always takes the safe path (and adds some random stuff that no one cares). I mean at least they could add a boss bar for warden and some decent loot!

People really got 1 super large update and now expect every update to contain 10 new biomes, a new boss, and another thing to grind for
it's not like it's being developed by a small indie studio with little to no funds to use for development. They're a multi-billion dollar studio, they have the resources to massively enhance the game with every update, but they're too afraid to make any meaningful changes to the game.
@@turidrowned you are taking it too far. If nether uptade(i assume you are talking about this one) didn't changed the way we progress it would be another generic uptade we are getting right now. i do agree that recent uptades have been lackluster. They need to expand progression just like they did in 1.16 with netherite instead of focusing on cosmetic changes like that. This doesn't necesarily has to be a 10 new biomes, just something to expand or change the way we progress throught the game. Hell, at this point terraria makes uptades sometimes bigger than minecraft itself. And i am aware that terraria is a 2d game but on the other hand re-logic is much smaller studio than mojang and they have way less funds than mojang has, which makes me wonder how they can't afford bigger changes? @@Bloody_SpyThey've been adding updates like these for around 6 years and the game is still strong. Even when the game was in its "dark age" phase it was far from dead. The only way I can think of to deal a huge blow on Minecraft would be to ban ALL mods or something, but Mojang would never do that. The community simply makes it impossible for Minecraft to die
@@viniciusgoulart5077 The playerbase will be smaller for sure, but the game won't die
I think this and corporate politics are both contributing to the game’s overall decline. New features that actually contribute to the core game would be nice, but we’re still losing the most important part of the game. The ability to do whatever you want.
Censorship of chat, taking down servers with guns, and removal of mods all oppose the idea of being able to do whatever you want. While these changes don't affect the average player too much, I think the presence of them does.
In 1.19.0 or prior, I could say whatever I wanted, play whatever games I wanted, and change the game however I liked without thinking twice. That’s the magic of a true sandbox, and without that the game isn’t really a game where “no one can tell you what you can or can not do.”
if you have a problem with minecraft being boring, try terraria. A sandbox so complicated it makes my brain hurt thinking about it
Mojang dosent want to introduce broken mechanics, they have to code for TWO platforms, not counting the amount of bug fixes they make, which no one seems to mention. Also, some years they spend a lot of time on April fools updates
The thing is that the two different versions had their own development team and both were allowed to update their respective version at their own pace, now if one update needs to be released, they need to both come out regardless if it works or not
Man, they could just not make april fools stuff for the game, but I guess not
I've really found my love for minecraft after starting a beta 1.7.3 survival world. It's a lot more relaxing and fun than modern minecraft
I love waiting a year and a half just to get one mob and two useless blocks

Minecraft community: OMG DEVELOPERS ARE SO LAZY TAKE SO MANY MONTHS FOR AN UPDATE
TF2 community: allow us to introduce ourselves

Personally minecraft is still so fun especcialy playing with friends. If you wanna enhoy minecraft, try a mode you haven't before or play on different servers.
Exactly, Minecraft puts out updates each year but it just seems kind of empty.. I knew it was going to take a bad turn update wise whenever they didn't add sharks for it being a "bad influence".
i think mojang should add more post game progression, like Terraria. Maybe make the game harder (stronger mobs, ect) or add in a final, ULTIMATE boss or something

Warden: hold my beer
If you have played anything close to an rpg then you would know that the warden is not a boss
I am a long time Minecraft player and although I still find it as enjoyable as ever, the updates have definitely slowed down. It could be due to the game having an old code base in a poorly chosen language under the hood but otherwise they have a good reason to be scared of the game evolving.
The 1.9 update is a good example of what mojang are trying *not* to do again, basically a few years ago mojang overhauled the pvp system which I thought was for the better but because it impacted so many players who had mastered the old system it ended up dividing the multiplayer community into people who stayed on 1.8 and people who played the newest version.
This could be the reason they are playing it so safe with newer updates and stopped releasing experimental pvp snapshots, because why risk dividing your player base, leaving half on a dying aging version and making it harder to play with others when you could just not rock the boat and release smaller updates because the whole point is *its replayable right??*
TBF what mojang are doing with updating boring unloved areas like caves and oceans is pretty good when they release an update. And making more controversial updates isn’t the right way to go either because Minecraft isn’t other games where you can change everything just for season whatever, and at some point a game like this is going to become “complete”

@@oladipupoolowabi9316 if you want to make it boring for yourself, I guess you are fine putting a limit on what you can do.
You're absolutely right. The main reason Minecraft has been losing steam is because the core gameplay has never really changed. Punch a tree, build a house, go to the nether, bully a dragon. After countless times over a decade, I'm sick of playing the game. Everyone has some sense that this is the case, but they blame it on features "not being useful", when they really mean that the features haven't changed the game in any meaningful way.
Ok lets add thirst bar mob leveling bosses that spawn out of now where you now need to craft an axe to break wood and turn minecraft into a complex puzzle game
@@novemharrison4524 that's a pretty lousy strawman. what i mean is, mojang could make it necessary for you to raid an ancient city, or climb a mountain in order to find new mobs and items to complete the game.
That adds another issue, giving Minecraft a main quest really just limits and defeats the purpose of the game, the game being a sandbox. Minecraft shouldn't be something akin to an RPG where there's a ton of features but you still have an end goal to it, because just after the main quest; now what?
The difference is night and day; one side never gives any directive or objective because really; you just gotta make that yourself, but on the other end one just narrows the path down to a very lousy adventure game. Simply to put; a main quest or anything akin to that, would ironically worsen the game.
Here's my theory-
So earlier there used to be all sorts of minecraft promotions
Minecon, Dream, Dream SMP
you get the point. But now, all these things are gone. There is no promotional material for minecraft and earlier players get bored of the game. If you keep playing somthing, you'll get bored of it.
Minecon needs to be brought back
What makes the updates boring is because they show you snapshots. Instead of randomly announcing the update and letting the players find out and enjoy the new features they release snapshots first and youtubers make videos on them and it ruins the surprise.
Then… don’t look at the snapshots? Many games leak update info for community input, but it’s optional.
Mewze u know that No one in the Minecraft community would like a battle pass
I would like to add that I think the snapshots ruin the actual update because it gives the player base the update features early and I think it would be better if they kept a couple of features hidden and only trusted beta testers could use it
Instead of increasing inventory cells just increase stack size from 64 to 999. This would fix most inventory issues.
I think the best way to fix the inventory problem is by spreading the game out a bit. Limit the variety of stuff you can get in any given area.
For example dorite and the other 2 blocks I don’t know the names of. make it so you can only find them in specific biomes, and so when you go mining, you will only find 1 type at a time.
Same can go for villages, depending on the biome they are in will depend on what crops they are growing, so instead of having 5 different food items taking up space, you will only have 1 kind of food taking up space.
Add this logic to more shit and then boom! saved inventory space without removing items or adding more slots and makes each biome more unique.
Personally my issue is the fact i would love a vanilla difficulty that has smart ai that harass the player like in the forest or in any other survival game with harassing enemies
The thing that keeps me hooked is exploration, finding the rarest items, defeating the warden, and shenanigans with friends
I am so glad Minecraft Fanboys are starting to realize this. Fortnite Fanboys have not realized this yet

If I'm being onest, I would totally jump into Minecraft again if they did a sick update with new mobs and a boss, because I would love to learn how to beat them, what they do and where I can find them.
I get that some people wouldn't like that at first, but it's not like the core game changes if you add some mobs to liven up the world(s). Also the launcher itself signals that there have been updates, so you would just need to read what happened or open a creative world for some tests

Yeah but the thing people forget that there are new people coming into Minecraft that do like the new stuff and grew up on it
Yea 4J did a great job on the Xbox 360 version, the worlds and menus were so nice. And the mini games were the boom
I think the issue with Minecraft is that the devs are forgetting that it isn't JUST a sandbox game. A sandbox game doesn't need major or any updates because it's content is user generated or is fun to play with others, but lots of people play Minecraft either alone or for different reasons then just wanting to build something. When you don't have friends to play alongside or are naturally drawn to spend hours getting materials to build something the game is actually about as content rich as it was 6 years ago because the parts of the game that aren't about building have barely been touched. That's why Creative feels far better right now is because Survival is just creative mode minus flight plus 15 hours to get the block you actually want to build with. Either improve parts of the game that would add more content for players who like exploration or combat or farming or make it easier to find and join smps, especially with random people so you aren't required to have 5 friends with spare time to enjoy the game to the fullest
They did add the warden tho

5. Fossilized creatures found in multiple areas which we can bring back from the dead using golden apples to create SKELETAL CREATURES, INCLUDING FRIENDLY SKELETONS!!!
6. Suspicious gravel in:
- Abandoned mineshafts, adding new possible miner-related loot (miner's helmet, anyone?)
- Bastion remnants because they are literal REMNANTS OF THE PAST (maybe contain gold related items and MAYBE NETHERITE???)
- Abandoned villages (come on it just makes sense)
7. New biomes should be much more common to affect regular gameplay more.
8. Signed books that can be found in multiple structures to maybe give us more info on the lore *ahem ahem* ancient builders plus piglin lore
9. The Curse of Midas enchantment found on some gold tools in loot chests which turns every ore mined into gold, but halves the durability of the weapon.

In my opinion, minecraft doesnt get boring because i play the game calmly (btw that o mesmo i explore a lot, i take my time, and i do whatever i feel like) i didnt even beat the Ender dragon and im still playing after these 6~7 years
For me it really is that the game has gotten boring, but really the only way I see the game becoming interesting again is with a significant overhaul of the end dimension, like how they revamped the nether, or maybe even a brand new dimension. Anything else to me is practically worthless, because I don’t care about updates adding a bunch of new blocks and features that i’ll never use 98% of either because they’re just decoration blocks or items that do something that an already existing item did before, or are just flat out useless outside of niche scenarios (bees and honey come to mind). I personally don’t even think it’s the devs fault that the updates are “boring” because I really don’t think there’s much they can even do outside of changing core mechanics and angering everyone anyways (1.9 combat update moment)
and I also still don’t really get why people get upset at the content of the updates only after they’ve released, as if there haven’t been several snapshots and teaser videos showing exactly what the update is going to have. I mean, a year ago I remember people being absolutely excited for archaeology, for some reason, despite the gameplay footage looking stupid lame. Now it’s here, and big shocker, it’s basically useless. Couldn’t have seen that coming.

It would flop instantly
So how has Minecraft been
being the exact same game for nearly 10 fucking years
Honestly if Mojang allows achievements with keep inventory on, then more people will play Minecraft.

Minecraft is no longer funny memes or whatever is with the kids recently i don't know and i don't care
I don't know I'm just standing the obvious i don't like minecraft anymore i mean i need to play it again but I'm not going to play it for a long time
I recently started playing Minecraft with my friends. After two days most of them had netherite amor while I still was barely developing my house. I grew bored after the fourth day and on instagram I saw someone using the epic fight mods and a couple others and I was like dam if Minecraft was like that it would be pretty cool.
Be careful what your wish for, we've all seen the shit pit that is the server browser on bedrock
Also another big thing i think you missed was that recent updates were not only useless, the stuff they added is so rare that it basically makes no difference. Like, mangrove wood, archeaology, cherry blossoms and armor trims etc are all cool but they're all exceedingly rare and not anything anyone would use in an average playthrough unless they got a lucky spawn or go out of their way to find it. To be honest every single update since 1.17 has just felt like one dragged out update because, well it pretty much is, 1.20 is still adding features that were unveiled 3 years ago in 1.17 and it just sorta feels like they're using it like filler content because they're out of ideas.
A reason people love the nether update is because it adds something during your run. Your trying to beat the dragon, you have to go to the nether, it’s more complex and interesting and boom, more stuff to do in a new world, if they keep making the essential parts of the game fresh, that’ll keep it less boring
FORTNITE SWEEP
There will be those 2 months in a year where you play a realm with your buddies and then it'll die out, but in those two months will be the best moments of that year for you.
This video is kinda disingenuous. I can’t say if it’s malicious or accidental but either way it’s still disingenuous
@@solaceafk You didn’t have to reply twice lmao. But it’s mainly because he is straw Manning most of his arguments and saying that the updates over the last few years were lackluster when then really weren’t
@@M4ximumCheese True but when the basis for that opinion is clearly Cherry picked and straw manned then yeah that opinion is kinda disingenuous lmao
Ah yes, a Raid Shadow Legends sponsor AFTER YEARS THEY MADE SPONSORS
roblox is better than fortnite or minecraft
You are valuable Your life has meaning You should love yourself right now
The new update could have honestly been done way better. It really has died down. The plants the sniffer found could have had some function besides "ooh funny colourful thing"
Fortnite sweep sorry
Minecraft Is never going
I used to get excited for every minecraft update but when 1.20 came out I didnt care, mojang arent innovating anymore. Hopefully Hytale can furfill what Minecraft fails to do.
honestly minecraft was finished 10 years ago. most of the new stuff feel like mods, and you won't even see 90% of it
Minecraft devs when their workweek is increased by 3 minutes (they get double the pay and benefits)
That’s actually wrong, it was increased by 4 minutes and now they get an extra 2 days off a week which means they have to work extremely hard on the 1 day of week they work
One massive problem is also that the Team behind Minecraft is WAY too small
the fact minecarts work literally identically to the way they did 13 years ago really just says it all
I think the best criticism is that the new stuff has not accommodated for the old stuff. Also I hard agree with the server browser addition over half the people who defend the game mention servers when they are really not accessible to the casual audience
on paper i agree with the server browser idea, but part of me really appreciates that it's kind of a last bastion of old school online play. it's almost comforting in a way.
Also becuase Roblox became populare
@@danyal_assi roblox has been popular for almost as long as minecraft, i first played that shit in middleschool and now know middleschoolers who have grown up playing it. wdym?
@@DumplingDoodle Ignore this kid, I caught him commenting on an unfunny roblox video once, then attempting to roast me with horrible grammar like this.
I agree about the server browser, becuz Minecraft Bedrock already has that, so why can't Minecraft Java too.
