I don't look at a month's Criterion releases until Daisuke makes his reaction video.

It's so great to hear how excited people are for the Three Revolutionary Films of Ousmane Sembène! 💜 I made the cover art ☺️🤗 for this project as well as for Mandabi.

@@mrjayda8712 thank you! I spent a good amount of time creating all the designs for it, and it was totally worth doing the research necessary.

Oh, those Ousman Sembene May be going to the top of my list for the Criterion summer sale! Emitai is an incredible film and Sembene is an incredible filmmaker in-general.

I'll note that Floating Weeds is Ozu's only film that was shot by the same cinematographer that shot many of Mizoguchi's masterpieces, as well as Rashomon, and it is as visually stunning as it sounds.

"New shoes 🤤". Err, I mean, new Criterions! Thank you as always for talking about the new Criterion titles! At a glance, "Peeping Tom" and "Floating Weeds" catch my attention the most but I am certain the others would be absolutely worth my time if I was to ever check them out. It was an honor as always to hear you talk about film, my friend. I agree 100% that this hobby or participation in film discussion continues to excite and delight in the highest. Your comments are never "meh" at all. You are a definitive voice when it comes to speaking about films and your life's passions. You continue to inspire me so much when you share your thoughts. I am really excited to share with you that I will be receiving in the mail the "Nightmare on Elm Street" Blu-ray box set that has 7 of the films tomorrow. Hopefully earlier in the day so I can begin going back through those before I listen to your recent discussion again to share my own ranking or thoughts. Also, when I purchased that, I needed to add another title to my Amazon shopping cart to get free shipping and it was between two films I have yet to see, "Re-Animator", which I often hear mentioned, or the John Carpenter film called "Christine". Well, I enjoyed my recent purchase and first time viewing of "The Fog" so much that I opted for "Christine". I am so excited because I hear how excellent that movie is! Also, bonus fun news from me, I started playing this newer Teenage Mutant "Hero" Turtles game called "TMNT Shredder's Revenge" and it has been such a blast from the past! It plays just like the old-school Nintendo/SNES/Sega games of yester-year that I used to play as a kid. It has me in full-on pizza eating, "party dude", ninja ninja rap mode! I've been breaking it down David Warner style with this game. Lol. Future plans are to find yet another television series I've yet to watch and the HBO show starring Bill Hader and Henry Winkler titled "Barry" is topping my list at the moment, but we shall see! I'm excited by the Squid Games season 2 teasers that have been popping up too. Anyhow, there is always so much more to say. My next "Criterion" purchase sale or not will be Lynch/Oz in the coming weeks. Can't wait! Until next time, have a great weekend as of the time of this comment Daisuke. Cheers!

For Ozu fans May is shaping up to be a very exciting month for in addition to the Floating Weeds disc there is a two disc set of I was Born but... and There was a Father on Blu Ray released by BFI who also released a three disc Ozu set four months ago. And it is always good to see more Sembene as his films have never had the wide release they deserve

Really looking forward to the “Floating Weeds” Blu-ray. Just a few days ago I was considering buying the DVD set, but now I think I’ll wait for the BD.

Peeping Tom is the film I’m the most excited for. This is a film I’ve not watched in quite sometime, so I’m truly interested in seeing it again in 4K. Thank you for the video Daisuke, I hope you’re doing well. Have a great day and a great weekend, take care!

I was so excited by Floating Weeds until I found out there was no new extras. How is this possible!? Criterion seems to produce less and less supplement materials and it saddens me so much.

Daisuke have you watched any of the James Gray films currently on the Criterion Channel?
