In Jonah’s case, Gabby taught him how to avoid his physically abusive father and take the firing pin out of his dad’s gun(the thing she guided Jonah into taking apart and hide a piece of), and after the father went too far, assisted Jonah in killing him to assure his safety.
Correction, she killed the father while Jonah was at a friend's house. She didn't 'assist' in killing. She did it herself, destroyed the evidence, and let Jonah have his alibi.

*Spoiler Alert, I shortened the whole story* It's not even dark, it's so wholesome. A guy finds his old comfort show that secretly had his guardian angel by his side talking to him through the tv then ultimately finds her again by streaming the show online and finally getting to talk to her after YEARS. And then she gets lost but it turns out she was overwhelmed by all the kids she was helping through the power of the INTERNET. Another angel (Angel Zagzagel) replaced the guardian angel but turns out he was trying to find her with the use of her show, they end up finding her tho. Since the guy is an adult, he didn't need Gabby/Gabriel, A.K.A Angel Hare, A.K.A his guardian angel, and decided it's best that they do their own thing while Angel Gabby could help millions 24/7 instead of a few in a scheduled time on tv. They said their goodbyes and lived their lives happily ever after.
I think what's interesting about this is that the otherworldly entity is not the enemy. But is actually an ally being the angel Gabriel trying to help Jonah. The real villain is Jonah's father making this one of the few analog horror stories in which the entity is good and a human is the villain.
