How in the hell can they demolish this?? The age of the decor and wood alone 112 years old I mean come on. Whatever developer bought this has no taste for history or agriculture. I know…….all about the $$ What a shame!
@@kateschroth3304at first I thought this as well, then I saw the creepy basement with the kids' playroom and thought, "aww the hell wit 'dis" ... I'm an HVAC contractor in Toronto and I've seen my share of sketchy basements children in 1911 were really not regarded with much, and it shows here
This really saddened me. How in the world can this treasure be eliminated in favor of a hideous high rise?!? This house a creative endeavor of true craftsmanship and constructed without modern power tools. I would love to be able to restore a place like this to its original grandeur. It wouldn’t take all that much considering 500 yo shells of homes are often beautifully refurbished. Gorgeous woodwork throughout. Kitchen was so cool but would love to see the original aesthetic. Basement nice but somewhat eerie. That one closet with all the writing was odd. Maybe a rebellious teen lived there. The kiddie painted room right next to the creepy furnace room was odd also. The actual resemblance to titanic may make sense as they were constructed near the same time. Your documentation may be the only way of remembering such fine homes ever existed. Thanks for sharing this fine old home Ethan. Take care, be well and stay safe! Can’t wait to see what you share next time!
The historical significance of this unique home should prevent it from being demolished! The craftsmanship in this place is phenomenal! That little room off the kitchen was probably a "butler's pantry." They were common in the turn of the century mansions.
@@susanelliott8901 and “so called development “ what a sorry excuse for being so greedy that you truly can’t appreciate history, agriculture or anything that has to do with the people that once resided there
What a beautiful mansion !! Love all the windows and woodworking!! I could live there even if I don’t need all that space!! Thanks Ethan, great find!! Did anyone live here after they didn’t returned home? 💖💖💖💖💖💖
Ethan even though the house itself was built in 1911 it looks like to me that they did a lot of remodeling from that point on after it was sold to other people, for years and because of the renovations that were made maybe that’s the reason why they decided to take it down, but you think they could refurbish it that’s for sure, but it is what it is. Thank you for sharing. Take care and be safe.🫶🏻🤠
Ethan does it again. The woodwork is gorgeous. I can’t believe it orginated in the 1910. To sail the Titanic is truely a dream. All the rooms were insane. At least the basement wasn’t flooded. A huge kitchen. Lots of storage. Three floors upstairs is unique,so many bathrooms. ❤😊Too bad they had to ruin the closet with all the writing. Thanks for the beautiful home.
The kitchen was the best part. Very interesting design. I have never seen anything like this before. Had a nice vintage Art deco vibe. Here they would take it out and sell it. The bathrooms were horrible. Mirrored cabinets, just tasteless, somehow they did not fit the house. It is a shame that due to the costs of real craftsmanship nowadays nobody puts pretty plaster mouldings anymore. Even nice wood for cladding is very expensive.
Why has this house never been protected as an historic home? Your in Toronto yes? Doesn't store Toronto or Canada do that, preserve historic places?? What a shame. Beautiful home!. Thank you Ethan!😁
😂 Hahaha @ Ethan saying how he isn't fingering the door (in regards to the closet door with no handle in the room with pink trim and doors) and getting embarrassed! Priceless!!!! So, glad u didn't edit that part out! Keeps it candid and real! Another great explore! Thanks for sharing another epic adventure! PEACE!!!!
Simply amazing! I think this is the best house you have shown so far. I think a writer should buy that house and write a novel there. The time of day you filmed this kept me in awe! I so wish this place could be restored to its former glory!
The house was amazing, especially the old wood paneling and windows. Some of the rooms were quite a contrast. I was hoping you would open at least one of the kitchen cabinets - I've never seen anything like it! Thanks for sharing this house before it disappears forever.
Incredible exploration!! There is so much character in the architecture of this property, it's fascinating 😮 That all tile bathroom was no easy task 👍 Thank you so much, Ethan, for sharing this 😁 Be safe and stay Blessed 😊🙏
What a stunner Ethan. Just Wow! Incredible house. This beauty should not be destroyed. Screw the developers. I'd love to know who it was that owned this gorgeous beauty. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This is my favorite one I"ve seen. I think. So amazing. I love the woodwork and the sun room. But, who puts a kid way down in the basement? That's crazy. Great find Ethan.
Wowser! Such a beautiful home. Sad that architectural values have changed so much. Nothing they build will compare to this house! The kitchen was super nice and unique!! Great bathrooms!
Just makes ya want cry 😿when you show us these home being destroyed by heartless, soulless developers. To bad they couldn't make it a Heritage Property. Sad. Thank you Ethan buddy..you kick as*. Be safe and take care Young man. 🤗...Donnie
That is a beautiful house, I couldn't imagine being able to afford a home like that back then, let alone living in it. The wood details are so pretty, the bathrooms that were redone, were a little to dizzying for me. It is just so sad that these types of houses are being demolished just so some investor can make money!!! You did a great job showing us around this house. thank you for that
Great explore ethan. Your videos never disappoint . This house is absolutely amazing. So sad they are knocking it down. Such a waste. :( My all time dream house :)
That was a really pretty house. They should fix it up. And charge money for letting people in. To see a house that someone from Titanic lived in. I bet people pay to see the house.
Hi Ethan WOW!!! What a mansion. 3 full floors and a basement. The basement was creepy. All those bedrooms on the second floor have their own bathrooms. Great for guests. Those marble fixtures were beautiful. What a shame that those people never made it back from the Titanic. That is a very tragic and sad story. This house should not be demolished. Are they serious? Some money hungry developer is going to put up high rise apartments. Is he out of his freakin mind? It’s all about the money. You know Ethan every time I see a lot of mirrors in these mansions I say there were narcissistic people living there. That’s just my opinion. A really really great explore. Thank you Ethan for showing us around this lovely home. Stay safe and well.👍🆒😊⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Difference between homes built before and after the industrialization of the building industry. I hope an architectural salvage company can reclaim some of the unique features that make this house so beautiful.
Hi Ethan! Beautiful home! Did them pass to any family members? Can you tell us the names of the people who died on the Titanic since the house is being torn down ? Sold to others? Kitchen was groovy! So someone lived there in the late 80’s based on the fridge. Love the pink room with marble bath. You are too funny. Lol! Circular shower, amazing! Master sweet, dressing room is still elegant. The bathrooms and kitchen were the stars. Except for you! Thanks so much!
Stove is 1957, Ethan. Looked up the year of manufacture. That kitchen was phenominal! That woodwork and molding, nothing made now will match that. They say that in the early 1900's things were built to last. Im not sure how things made now will last very long. This house is a treasure and its a shame to be knocking it down for a modern monstrosity.
AGA stoves on average run 20-40k new. They come in electric and gas. You can find refurbished models for 5-10k depending on size, model. I think they're more popular in the UK. What a grand old dame to lose to "progress". 😢
I think fireplaces are covered up when they are a fire or carbon monoxide hazard to burn because the firebox has deteriorated or they don't want animals coming in through the chimney. Cool video. Thanks
The people in the area need to submit to city council to save this house and get it on the historical list. Find out the architect/builder, anything that will prove it's historical significance. Canada too easily allows these old grand mansions to be bulldozed for "progress". This place just needs some love. It is a stunner.
Rich people don't care about History all they care is money in their pocket and this once beautiful homes has so many memories this such a shame. This home was build in 1911 and the history of this we had a RMS Titanic passenger living here and the RMS Titanic is still the most talked about today. May all those souls who was lost on her ship May they RIP
Wonderful historical home. Such a shame it's left to decay. 😢 I hope some of the woodwork is salvaged. There are some people who would love to own part of something so historical. It's history should be preserved. Thank you for sharing Ethan. 😊 through your videos, I get to see homes like I have never seen before. 😊😊😊❤
Ohhh I loved this adventure! That kitchen was wild. My Dad used to restore old cast iron stoves, that one in the kitchen was in such good shape. Too bad it can't be salvaged.
I agree Ethan. It should be registered in the National Historical Registry, refurbished.
What a gorgeous estate! You can’t find that kind of craftsmanship anywhere! So sad to see that it’s going to be torn down!
How in the hell can they demolish this?? The age of the decor and wood alone 112 years old I mean come on. Whatever developer bought this has no taste for history or agriculture.

But the whole demolition story was very sad😢
Molding beautiful, lead lined windows! Really beautiful work. We sure don’t see that craftsmanship any more!
Gotta say Ethan, I love that you still do the mirror thing ... I always chuckle. Wonderful home
Beautiful home. I hate to see these old buildings torn down. 😢❤

The kitchen gives me train car or ship vibes. Love the stove.
They can't destroy this beautiful home. Keep it alive!❤

That noise that you asked "what was that" in the basement was your sign to get back upstairs. I busted out laughing with the random chair after that.
