Overall great outing by Ober, but the Twins need to do something about this home run problem afflicting their entire pitching staff. Lopez, Ryan, Ober, and Paddack are all in the wrong end of the Top 12 in home runs allowed this year. That's not going to play in the postseason.
I mean it’s not really fair to compare Bailey’s 2 solo shots today to the problems that appear to be afflicting Lopez, and Paddack as of late. When you’re handed an 8-2 lead in the second inning, you’re gonna be aggressive and go after guys. Throwing a lot of pitches right at the zone is going to inevitably lead to one or two being good pitches to hit, and power hitters are going to hit those out. I don’t think the 2 solo shots are really indicative of anything other than the fact Ober threw 70 of his 89 pitches for strikes.
@@holker_ Did you miss the part where I said it worked out okay today against a team with a ~$60m payroll but isn't going to work come October baseball? Ober is tied for 6th in most home runs given up among ALL pitchers this year, and he's no stranger to getting completely shelled. I want the Twins to make a serious push for the WS this year, and that's going to be hard when these pitchers aren't able to leverage their level of aggressive pitching against top-tier line-ups, of which we've already seen plenty this season. There's still plenty of time to make adjustments, but they do have to be made or it's going to be another ALDS exit for Minnesota.
@@jroggs85if you have been a twins fan for a while you would know this is a good (not great) starting rotation compared to what they have had in the past. Last years starting rotation was fantastic, this years is above average compared to normal Twins standards……. So don’t complain
this is coming from a born and raised twins fan but serious props to the oakland A’s announcers during this game, they were fantastic, sad to see them go . sucks that they’re losing their team to Vegas
The A's should just sell all tickets for $1. They would probably make more money selling Beer & Hotdogs than they are getting at the gate now. At least the stands would be a little fuller.
Size shouldn't matter really when it comes to baseball stadiums. A true would fan watch a game reguardless the knock on mlb stadiums in the past too large. Cmon fans

I don't care for the HRs either but it's the byproduct of having flyball pitchers in an era dominated by home run or bust hitters.
