Balance back then was presented in this way; Faster robots get the less firepower, while the slowest ones pack the biggest punches.
When that logic died down, the game even bacame more unbalanced.
I appreciate you understanding and knowing that this game is unbalanced, and the people out there who call you a whiner are the ones who don't understand games at all. Keep it up man.

Manny, I respect you, you are an amazing player.
Ares is OP, especially if you play it against griffins, hover or other old meta.
If you play on top tier, everybody has at least two of them, and the game is balanced.
About Ares... Ares is OP since he came out. Everybody knew that since the first day. Pixo as well of course.
So let's say that Ares, like the dash bots or Spectre are the tools used by Pixo to get money.
Pixo oblige players who want to keep their hangar competitive to invest on them and once they got enough money, they nerf. Why? Not because OP or not OP, just because after the nerf they can introduce another OP bot.
Or make a not-so-used bot OP (Invader).
I know you probably informed Pixo since the beginning that Ares was OP.
So the real question is: why run test server if then nobody listen and avoid this OP stuff? Nerf after that thousands of players spent money, is that correct in your opinion?
The real "balance" should make old stuff more powerful, buffing weapons and bots that many players have. Not nerfing the new stuff. This is a pure scandalous stam.

Pix knew it was op when they released it 3 months ago. Now they say they are “ looking at it “. Nothing changed except it will soon be able to build for free.

In a free for all match i killed 3 ares back to back without dying once with my falcon with glory and thunders. Falcon is the op killer.

Falcon is justice... Against Ares that sounds good. Although still - the Ares well played can also outplay the Falcon. But its also possible the other way around. Depends on the playstyle I guess ;)
@@ManniGaming INDEED. You are right, the Ares is OP... Essentially, just the invulnerability for 6 seconds, every 18 seconds needs to change... Especially, as you said, since you can't get inside the shield because of it's speed. The chance that a dash bots would survive that long is slim... but, play-style is everything!
Yup ares is at the top of all robots.....it has no disadvantages at all.....but it all comes down to play style.....if you play bad then a griffin can kill the ares😂😂

The mayor problem is the shield duration. It never ends. It should be that the shield dies when the firing ability gets trigger, it shouldn't be able to have both at the same time.

I love the Ares it looks like a fun robot
I've seen some Taran/Aphid Ares in Champion FFA. It was weird at 1st glance, but then I realised they use it from behind cover, when other weapons' shots would've been blocked.
I am even thinking about use this setup with Tyr, since I lack weapons.
Lockdown probability seems to work like damage with distance on shotguns...I noticed that I get a lockdowns sooner when am closer to the target. Great video, planning on getting an Ares, I hope they don't nerf it.

Ive seen that with a Gareth, you can use its physical shield to absorb most of the damage. I rarely see it coming though to do that though

Seriously just pay attention to who has the Ares and notice when they use their shield...if you are close to them stay behind cover until shield is depleted and after that man...you got em! Good luck buddy.
@@Maddi1224 Only problem with that tactic is Ares' speed. It can run into cover very quickly once the shield is down. Not as easy as you make it seem.. And like Manni said, the shield will be available again by the the time you reach it. The bot is just meant to be OP to boost sales

Lock down weapons amd the lock down mod deal with ares very good.
It is no where near as "op" as the spectre was when it was released. If the spec still had its speed and 5 second stealth the ares would look like a tinker toy. And yes I have an Ares.

The Aries is played by players that prefer to win than to have fun. It is just boring in my opinion... on the other hand, I like the Strider because it requires skill.

They dont necesarily have to increase the cooldown time, but they DO have to bring down the shields as soon as the weapons are activated.
OPTIONS:
-As for the weapons, either have the damage so its stronger up close and MUCH weaker far away like the SCOURGE. That way, theres more risk to the player when activating the weapons. (Other bots run close-brawling risks just to deal high damage like the Pursuer/Invader/Blitz/SpectreOrkanStormEtc/LiterallyEveryOtherBot) This way, if the Ares wants to deal more damage, they have to sneak in close and risk themselves more, also risking the enemy robot having a chance to get inside their shield. High risk but high reward.
-If they want to keep the Built-in weapons OP and super glass-cannon. Then they shouldnt give it 2-medium/2-light weapons like Raven and Griffin. Instead just 4 light weapons (it already has 8 weapons c'mon guys)
-Have it deactivate the normal weapons when activating the built-in weapons.
-Have the bot immobilized during the Shield activation and the weapons activation, if not then slow the robot down during its normal state and have its normal speed now only during the activation state.
-Make every other Robot Stronger LOL
Main Point: THERE HAS TO BE A WEAKNESS/RISK

Manni, I have criticized alot of things you say and the fact you always run such OP bots in your videos but this time I absolutely agree with you! I have a mercury and it is no match for the Ares! Even with helldive if it's running quantum you can't win! AND ALL OF THEM RUN QUANTUM!! Between the lockdown and the quantum there is no way to get close to one of these and you will lose 4 or 5 bots trying to bring it down. I have a Invader and a Mercury and a Falcon and still this thing will kill you easily. Those players that are saying it's balanced are bias cause they paid 100 bucks for them. NO ONE can say this bot does not need to be balanced! Pixonic put this bot in cause they needed another cash cow since the spectre is pretty much saturated in the game.

If pixonics nerf Ares in only one area, which will you choose?
1) ability cool down to be increase.
2) shorten the shield time.
3) speed.
4) damage output like a lvl 1 magnum and only increase when others fire into it.
5) when fire the additional weapons, shield to be drop immediately.
6) reduce walking backwards speed to 35km/hr.
I personally choose 6 because it’s good to kill pay to win players and can sense future frustrations in them when they can’t walk backwards at 60km/hr!

Mercury is the counter to ares because when the enemy uses his retribution I just hide and then jump on it or first jump to defend against it and then grill it with my avengers and halos

Hi Manni, hi all. I've been running Ares Taran/Halo for a while. In 3 days I'll finish building another Ares. What setup do you suggest for another one? I've got Tarans/Magnums and Storms/Gusts in my warehouse. Any advice?
Manni doesn't the Scourge and Spark/Hali do more Damage but unfortunately with a 3 second lock
The ability is OP for sure but as a bot it is very fragile. So if you can fire at it when the ability is over then it is done.
It needs a big nerf when it comes to the built-in weapons and thats it. Then it would be preety balanced
my counter to Ares..Ballista Specter...kill from long range AND ECU SHIELD, Exodus Strider, block all attack with mk2 shield and whoop it with exodus in point blank......the main problem about Ares OP.ness is it RETRIBUTION attack, just cut it distance to 350km will be enough,,but hades retribution canoon need rework,, JUST 3 SHOOT I often miss.i think better change to energy shotgun better..
4:45 after the Halo lockdown nerf this is the result, even with 2 max MK2 Halo you can't lockdown. 😂😁

Since I don’t have halos I run my ares with taran gusts and it is sooo powerful
Always interesting manni,... This game was very good before dash bots era, Now non of my friends plays it except me.. My only problem with this game now is silver rewards and upgrading costs, previously i occasionally got 1mil silver with old school bots and during that time my max damage was about 1.2 million only, ,if you remember even if we finish the game without any damage due to poor connectivity or call,we still used to got silver rewards about 100k,, but now even if i do 1.5mil damage its only 300k silver,that day i saw a video where Adrian broke his damage record and did about 3mil and he only got 600k silver.. Pixonic said due to economy change silver rewards would be double, therefore i should make more than 300k silver,.. Its asking me 32 million for upgrading exodus to level 10 from 9..At 200k-300k average rewards it will take ages for one upgrade.. Its very simple they should actually double the rewards or decrease the upgrade cost to 1/4..(upgrade cost is now 4x that the original cost)
In other game mode it doesn’t seem overpowered by playing it. but you should try it out
The only thing that kills a ares is a maxed leach or a traditional list falcon so the ares is not too strong well the ares is fast but the leach is faster when it activates its reflection damage but the 1 advantage the ares has is the shield cooldown btw sorry this is sooo long

The robot that can stealth (not stalker or other jumping robots) foreever must be banned in beacon rush
To put an Ares to that level I was working it out it would cost just about 3 billion silver so if you put that into a robot it should be strong but it's shield should come down the minute it's secondary weapon start shooting but I don't won't anything done with it yet I'm just about to get one . I have not came across one at that level i have taken down many with Au qun

One ares isn't too bad even though its completely op and ptw. The purple circle jerk with three of them rotating shields is the major issue. It's ruined squad play to the point where if you don't have it you lose.
I hate how the lock down for the halos never works. I use lock down ammo on my tyr with tarans and magnums as my beacon runner on short range maps and it works very well like 80% of the time

The Ares has become very problematic. It is so strong and it cannot be countered easily. But the invader and the falcon are the only robots that can kill it. The ARES HAS TO NERFED to a large extent. Nice gameplay and content and I learnt a lot from you. 150K is almost there. What is special from your side to all the viewers? Nice job bro.

I agree. It has already become quite a problem. Even though its so new. In a few months the problem will be even crazier. I wish they would increase the cooldown somewhat.
The ares really isn’t that bad, the invader is stronger, and when the specter first came out was wayyy stronger than the ares, I personally think mercury is just as strong as the ares
