I agree with Adam , Tana doesnt need to prove himself to anyone, at this point he is an immortal legend with title or not , having him drop the title wont affect him or his status in the company what so ever, but this is a chance to get Jay pushed for 2018 and for Tana to take a fucking break and rest , the guy is legit banged up , and no just playing his injuries for his character , he earned some fucking rest to heal.
Jay White’s promo was fucking incredible at #njfanfesta never knew he was this good. Switchblade is the present and the future.

This match has a great potential to be the match of the night. I've seen Jay White's work he's amazing and Tanahashi one of the best in the world and greatest of all time. So, please don't let Okada vs Naito and Kenny vs Jericho overshadow this one.

Allen Corona Well the original ones were Keiji Mutoh, Masahiro Chono and Shinya Hashimoto.
Then came Tanahashi, Nakamura and Shibata.
And now some (including Tanahashi himself) are saying that the new Three Musketeers are Naito, Okada and the third one is left ambiguous. Tana likes to think that Ibushi could be the Third Musketeer, but in my opinion it seems more accurate that the third would actually be Omega...nobody said that they all have to be Japanese, and Kenny has grown as a wrestler in Japan.
RADU SOCOL Yoshi Tatsu used to be the third musketeer, but, he failed to develop as much when was in WWE to be considered a main eventer.
I blame WWE for that. Tatsu is decent in the ring and I actually liked him as a heel (Hunter Club) even tho he had go away heat. Oh well, I guess all I have now is Taichi....

This is an amazing Jay White Promo, I’m hoping he wins the IC title and also Jay White should join the Bullet Club it’s perfect.
Good God, no. Not knocking Jay White but Bullet Club is almost perfect the way it is now. I would just like more cohesion between the ROH and NJPW BC members a la when AJ was the leader.
Then again, I'd rather have Jay White in Bullet Club than Dolph Ziggler or some other WWE jobber that can't hack it in NXT or on the midcard...
If anything, I think he would fit much better in LIJ.

Henare already does many poses , shouts , screams and gestures (like tongue gouging) from his Maori native culture during his fights as a young lion and they look totally badass , which is why he is my favorite young lion right now , if we get another NZ wrestler on board (switch) then we gotta see the haka in an NJPW ring !
Tchado1000 Tchado1000 It'd be awesome if they got Travis Banks to start appearing in New Japan. Being that he's in RevPro and they have that partnership, there could be a chance that he eventually starts appearing more often. I really hope they he does come and they form a 3-man New Zealander team. It'd be so sick to see them go up against people like Suzuki-Gun!
Hell yeah , and I can just imagine how epic a haka from them would be....as a rugby player and fan I love seeing it when NZ plays , so im sure it will be spectacular in NJPW as well since strong style emphasizes the warrior spirit , and what is more warrior than the maori haka !!!
Tchado1000 Dude I feel you. I only played rugby my senior year of high school, but I fell in love w/ it immediately. Coincidentally the year I joined so did loads of other people, the team doubled in size. Since most of us were new to it, the first game the coaches showed us was NZ vs South Africa at a World Cup final. The haka was one of the things that drew me to NZ aside the fact that they're crazy filthy team haha. Sadly I haven't been able to play much since then, but now you got me wanting to again

Anthony lewis+ I wouldn't go that far I'm sorry he far from 89 ric flair couldn't touch him period I think people see it NJPW they think whatever that company does it touch gold but in a few times they make their mistake and this is one of it now don't get me wrong I am NJPW fan to me they are the best in the world in my opinion idgaf what anybody say but as for jay white that my opinion to me they are giving him a gimmick that doesn't fit him and pushing him too soon but like I said that my opinion
I agree. I'm not sold on Jay White's character. Seems a tad forced. If a guy is crazy, then let him be crazy i.e. Mick Foley, Sycho Sid and Brian Pillman, but if you BOOK a guy to be crazy, looking at you Dean Ambrose, then it doesn't work. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
At least I can take solace in the fact that NJPW's track record over the past five years is a heck of a lot better than WWE's or TNA's.

I like Jay but he still looks like a kid. Maybe he should grow a beard or sth similar, right now the gimmick is not quite in sync with him. Still, looking forward to his progression the next few months 👌🏻

Honestly, I prefer him looking like a baby faced killer. It separates Jay from the rest of the roster and gives off that punkish killer impression he's going for.

no disrespect to Switchblade Jay White, but how come he leaped frog his way into the IWGP IC Title scene and not David Finlay? If anything, Finlay should have been the one who challenges Tanahashi for the IC title, whether he wins or loses
King Gooch The Troll King Finlay has improved alot, but still needs a bit more time imo. I think he'll get there soon enough
Finlay looks like a CAW I could throw together in 6 minutes.
King Gooch The Troll King because NJPW has had a minor hard on for Jay White since day one. They see money in him and they maybe right, he had the build and the Ora of a champion and you simply can’t force that down the card. Also if you get ROH as your excursion then NJPW has HUGE plans for you. Like Ropongii 3k, EVIL, and Takahashi.
He still isnt a skilled wrestler. His gimkick is good but sorry Jay White fans. He isn't winning the IWGP Intercontinental championship on his first match

he is actually pretty good in the ring and still really young, he probably isnt going to win unless tanahashi needs more time off
Oh hell no. I actually see Tanahashi dropping the belt at the New Beginning event.
Takahashi was risky but he had more charisma and talent than Jay White, RG3k, I don't know, the jury is still out on them and Okada didn't exactly light the world on fire during his first run.
Then again, with Okada, his first run ultimately paid off in the grander story that would be told years down the road but that was a very risky booking decision that could have blown up in Gedo's face. The question is: how many times can you strike lightning in a bottle?
He better not win. Jay is pretty boring
