What an episode. 1) I was seriously worried for Edward following his head on collision with Randolf. 2) Thomas and Kate's relationship coming to an end was something I somewhat expected after seeing the trailer. 3) Nice to see Reginald finally popping the question to Samantha, especially considering we haven't seen them have much interaction. 4) Bit of a bummer finding out James and Rosie are just friends but still, the dynamic they have is a really good one. 5) Looks like we'll be getting another interesting episode as we await "Beeching" to come out next week. And finally: 6) Season Four Part Two has, in my opinion, one of the best continuity arcs in the series so far.
I completely agree with you, some small parts made me have goose bumps, like how Reggie and Sam’s package was redone with Edward instead of Thomas, Mr. Starr having a brief moment in today’s story and Geoffrey having his “D” word added to Gordon, James, and Henry’s “Disgraceful. Disgusting. Despicable.” moment and I loved Gordon’s “Poppycock” as for Thomas and Kate, I am wondering about their relationship too, makes me wonder if the man’s dog was the inspiration for “Lady and the Tramp” or it was the woman that him decide on the name
Regarding Thomas and Kate, there were two shorts released between Season 3 and Season 4 Part 1, "Pets" and "Triggers", that basically spelled out what would become of them.
Victor, I must admit I'm impressed by Thomas and Kate splitting up. Addressing that stage in a decaying relationship is an important thing to do, and you handled it with a good sense of brutal realism. Likewise with Sam's discussions with Reggie (we can't know what others think except by comparing what they say to what they do). It reminds me of something that a relative of mine did. (and if you want to take some inspiration from it, feel free to): he had been with going steady with a woman when his mother fell ill. His girlfriend helped him take care of her, but the mother was old and her body gave out. After his mother's death, my relative broke off with that girlfriend. My family was shocked, given how close they'd been, and there were rumors that he had merely used her like a caretaker. They may well have been mere rumors, and he broke up with her because he mentally associated her with his mother, or maybe there was truth to the rumors. Nobody's going to ask him, especially since he himself is 5 years dead. He did fall in love with a different woman, married her, and spent the last years of his life happily with her.
It doesn’t matter who was first to comment on this video. The important thing is we are all here to watch another great installment of a series that will forever be considered a G.O.A.T.

This was an intense video Victor. It’s very sad that Randolph passed away may he rest in peace. I’m completely shocked that Thomas & Kate have now broken up and that James and Rosie aren’t an official couple but happy they are close friends. But I’m absolutely delighted for Reggie & Sam now being married and for Edward’s recovery especially including him seeing a brief appearance from Mr Star.

This was so moving, i was actually terrified when edward blacked out, then when Randolf passed away that too was hard to watch. I did like when edward came back, and the couple of hallucinations he had including seeing Mr Starr which was so heartwarming, and it also gave me a funny idea for a skit: Its time to play: who stole the green water
I'm mind blown my prediction about the rumor spread about reggie was correct. that aside though this was a very well thought out episode, I was quietly hoping Reggie's brother would pull through from the overhaul so they they could make amends.
That American screwdriver part cracked me up! Same with Geoffrey saying "deplorable", adding to Gordon, Henry, and James' catchphrase. So similar to when Reginald used "detestable!" 😆😆

I've gotta say Vic, as the original creator of Sam as a character I'm beyond pleased with seeing where you've taken her through this series. I was shipping her and Reggie since Replacements and I'm so glad to see that that headcanon has actually come fully to fruition even without my input. They're definitely lucky to have each other, especially given the circumstances surrounding the proposal. Seeing Thomas and Kate break up after being together for so long definitely hurt, but the signs of their relationship starting to come apart were there to find if one looked well enough and Sam definitely saw it coming, which makes sense given the fight the two had in Prototypes, but hopefully they'll both be able to realize their mistakes and shortcomings and move on to be better as people/engines in the future. What a thrilling, dramatic episode, another top-shelf piece if I do say so myself. So much character development and elaboration packed into 24 minutes and it all fits so well. Given Beeching's Axe is set to come down on British Rail in the next episode, you've got me on the edge of my seat as always. The SCP Foundation establishing a Site on Sodor will no doubt be a source of much future mystery and intrigue as well as no doubt adding to the general chaos that is Sodor. It also warms my heart to know that, most likely even though the engines and possibly we the viewers will never see the Lucky Lamp again that it's still there on Sodor, still there at home, so perhaps it might have continue providing its anomalously lucky effects more remotely from now on. One can only hope.
I absolutely loved this I love the whole drama between the bigger engines because unlike the Narrow gauge engines engines who are more mature The bigger engines are more flawed And I love flawed characters.
I loved the ending with the something old, new, borrowed and blue line, its a great callback to a wedding in the TVS and the reveal that Edward was a-okay! Cant wait for next week!
A couple things. 1. During the scenes at Vicarstown, the turntable didn't have any tracks and 2. Did mickey's facepack get an update or is it just the lighting?
Wow, what an intensely brilliant episode, Victor! Shame Thomas and Kate came to end but maybe it was for the best. I felt so much for Reggie and great concern for Edward. Awesome touch on the familiar, yet wholesome hallucinations. I am so happy he pulled through and that Reggie and Sam are happily married. God bless Randolph, and it's nice to see James and Rosie are good close friends too.
To be fair this Episode was kinda deep for Thomas and Kate's Break Up, and secondly Poor Randolph. it's tragic to see a one-time character being killed off in a few seconds. and also what great episode!
This was certainly one of the more interesting episodes of the series, and also intense… and it also gave us a look at what most likely would’ve happened to Adam had he not chosen the final firing, and you certainly had most of us in suspense when Edward blacked out… but of course we wouldn’t have TSOS without Edward, because after all, you can’t have a ghost narrate a story can you?
Well I mean at the time when Adam had the same conditions sir topham actually said that BR was gonna pay for the overhaul which meant that Adam actually had the chance to live but he chose the other option and is now in a better place with Colin lily Mr.Starr and Alfred may they all Rest In Peace
Man, that was a much more intense episode than I expected! I expected the beef between Reginald and Randolph to be calamitous, but it ending with Randolph's death came as a huge shock. I was also worried for Edward when his boiler cracked and he went unconscious, but great to see that he pulled through! As for the other relationships in this episode, it's not surprising that Thomas and Kate broke up, given how nasty things got between them, and I wasn't expecting Reginald and Samantha to get hitched so soon! Glad to see Rosie becoming a permanent member of the Sodor fleet, but some more big changes will likely be on the horizon in next week's episode...
Victor does have a tendency to take fanon and do it right. I think now that we're moving into the 60s, now that we've covered advances in mental health treatment with Sir Topham, and with the topic of relationships of all kinds raised so close to each other, I think he might be gearing up to do "James is gay" but played seriously.

I honestly love the fact that James and Rosie have a platonic friendship rather than a full on romance. I imagine for James he’s not into trying to get back into the market ever since that munitions incident. Besides they’re better together as friends because they work like two peas in a pod.
DUDE You gotta stop with my emotions. The part when Edward got that crack in his boiler was giving me Adam and then Regi's hit me real hard. Also I find it interesting how Kate and Thomas are through and that Sam and Regi got married. Plus that James and Rosie are just very good friends. Randolph having metal fatigue was the great shock for me here!! Reminds us too much of when Adam had it!! But at least he got the chance to apologize to Reginald, and in turn, he regretted what he did to his own brother at last, even if he did get the final firing, which was really downing to hear. And Edward's boiler bursting was almost as shocking. But great to know he got his knew boiler and attended the wedding! Congratulations, Edward! I knew you would recover very soon!

Yet another sad passing of an extra who still had ties with the main characters. Victor you have done such an amazing job giving these stories the life as if it were a human soap opera, heck you could consider this a semi soap opera. High praises, great storyboard and well written dialogues.
I don’t mean this negatively but holy cow, I nearly got room spin with this episode. Top notch writing as always, and not to come across in a bad way but I look forward to happier days for the line.
I agree. Honestly I thought Samantha was gonna be with Thomas, since through out the series Sam occasionally talked highly about him and to him. They both share similar personalities and I thought they look cute together. Although I can only recall ONE time where Reggie and Samantha are together on screen, and that was in her and Peckett’s introductory episode. Had there been MORE interactions between Reggie and Sam throughout the series (working jobs together, flirting here and there, etc), I would’ve found them being together and quickly getting married more believable.
I loved this episode keep up the great work. I can relate to Reginald because I became estranged to most of my fathers family a couple of years ago and my grandfather passed away last year but I found he happily named me as one of his grandchildren so I knew he still had me in his heart and probably forgave me!

I've waited so long for this episode because I was interested to see how Thomas's relationship with Kate would go. Oh I enjoyed this episode, so much has happen I didn't know what to say but I will. I can't believe Thomas and Kate broke up, Maggie had come to sodor, Randolph and Edward collide into each other and both ended up in the works and Randolph died, Edward sore Mr Star, James and Rosie are just friends and Reginald and Samantha getting married I knew there was love between them, though I thought Thomas and Kate would get married. Gordon: disgraceful James: disgusting Henry: despicable Geoffrey: deplorable Thank you for another excited episode VICTOR TANZIG.

Like James and Rosie, I knew Reginald and Sam would get together! And even married with the good luck package! Figures that they were for each other since he first met Sam when she was having trouble with coaches whle handling them for the first time, with messed up results. So good to that pair as well.

Can we talk about Thomas do with the relationship with Kate that went left so quick, and I thought Edward was going to die at first but it turns out Randolph got metal fatigue. Still keep up the good work👍
While I did have the thought this was going to be an 'Amends' style story it actually takes a lot of different turns so we don't get a repeat of a previous episode. In a sense it's a bit like a cross between 'Amends' and 'Diagnosis'. Admittingly what Randolph said to Reginald before he arrived on Sodor was wrong but realising it and wanting to make amends was a good thing even if he did lose his life in the process. Looks like Thomas and Kate have split up after, but the question is: Will it be permanent? Maybe when we get to 'Flood' we'll probably find out. After all, if the mine flooded in 'Services' then it might flood again. In the mean, looks like Dr Beeching is about to enter the picture.
@@memeking7273 I would certainly recommend a quick Google search on the guy. But, the very brief run down here, he is the infamous gentleman who performed an audit on every single mainline and branchline of British Railways, compiled a list of stations, branchlines, and facilities that were either not making enough money, or making none at all, and wrote an infamous report sent to higher ups that all of these should be closed. This was known as the "Beeching Report." And, most of them were. I guess I have mixed feelings, as it was both a blessing and a curse. Naturally, in business, you don't want to dwell on or hang on to something that is an ultimate money loser. Especially if it hemorrhages cash badly. That's a good way to put yourself out of business. So the dropping of some stations and lines that are ultimately pointless is understandable. BUT who's to say that they couldn't become more economical and successful with a bit of change? Because THAT is where the ultimate problem is. BR and Beeching didn't care to consider how some of these assets could be reused/revitalized to become more practical with the changing times. Their very narrow mindset was simply "does it lose money? If yes, then cut it, we are not even considering throwing another schilling at it." Again, and not to be "that" guy, but I would really suggest searching the guy up if you are even remotely interested.

Randolph returns alive and well and Reggie despises him, and then Randy died and Reggie hs nothing but love for him. It's only poetic and ironic twist for our favorite dark green Mittie.
Oh man what an episode! I was actually worried when Edward and Randalph nearly collided with each other and even more so when Edward's boiler burst. I was also shocked when I saw a huge crack in Edward's boiler.
Despite the uplifting ending, this was a rather heartbreaking one I'm glad Toppham took Rosie on. And shocked she and James weren't an item. Woooofff, We all knew Thomas and Kate separating was inevitable (shorts did little avoiding that) but knowing for sure now Kate is THAT insecure, I don't much fancy her chances even staying on Sodor for much longer. Topphams not going to like her collapse in attitude. I can't really blame Reggie for his grudge. Folks wanna talk today about the intolerance of LGBTQ? Then they've clearly NOT known how much worse it was a century ago. And wow that was by far the scariest crash. Edward bursting up was VERY alarming, and when he passed out I legitamently feared the worst. Losing Randolf hurt. Reggie made the choice to try...but the odds are always bad on total overhauls. Rest in Peace. And HUZZAH Edward survived after all! As for BR history, their Newfangled nonsense was and still IS always rushed and hardly works right at first. As for the new guy: Don't know a thing about him, but I'm guessing his name is something of a household name of British infamy?

Season 4 Part 2 is just so great, I honestly can't wait for Beeching next week and seeing which branch gets cut (I personally don't want any of them cut, but because it's Beeching, you can expect the Beeching Axe will hurt Sodor)

They're definitely lucky to have each other, especially given the circumstances surrounding the proposal. Seeing Thomas and Kate break up after being together for so long definitely hurt, but the signs of their relationship starting to come apart were there to find if one looked well enough and Sam definitely saw it coming, which makes sense given the fight the two had in Prototypes, but hopefully they'll both be able to realize their mistakes and shortcomings and move on to be better as people/engines in the future.
What a thrilling, dramatic episode, another top-shelf piece if I do say so myself. So much character development and elaboration packed into 24 minutes and it all fits so well. Given Beeching's Axe is set to come down on British Rail in the next episode, you've got me on the edge of my seat as always. The SCP Foundation establishing a Site on Sodor will no doubt be a source of much future mystery and intrigue as well as no doubt adding to the general chaos that is Sodor. It also warms my heart to know that, most likely even though the engines and possibly we the viewers will never see the Lucky Lamp again that it's still there on Sodor, still there at home, so perhaps it might have continue providing its anomalously lucky effects more remotely from now on. One can only hope.

Man the scene where Reginald had to chose between his brother or Edward got me…Also thought Edward was gonna die at first when he cracked his boiler.
I absolutely loved this I love the whole drama between the bigger engines because unlike the Narrow gauge engines engines who are more mature The bigger engines are more flawed And I love flawed characters.
I loved the ending with the something old, new, borrowed and blue line, its a great callback to a wedding in the TVS and the reveal that Edward was a-okay! Cant wait for next week!
A couple things. 1. During the scenes at Vicarstown, the turntable didn't have any tracks and 2. Did mickey's facepack get an update or is it just the lighting?

Wow, what an intensely brilliant episode, Victor! Shame Thomas and Kate came to end but maybe it was for the best. I felt so much for Reggie and great concern for Edward. Awesome touch on the familiar, yet wholesome hallucinations. I am so happy he pulled through and that Reggie and Sam are happily married. God bless Randolph, and it's nice to see James and Rosie are good close friends too.
To be fair this Episode was kinda deep for Thomas and Kate's Break Up, and secondly Poor Randolph. it's tragic to see a one-time character being killed off in a few seconds. and also what great episode!
This was certainly one of the more interesting episodes of the series, and also intense… and it also gave us a look at what most likely would’ve happened to Adam had he not chosen the final firing, and you certainly had most of us in suspense when Edward blacked out… but of course we wouldn’t have TSOS without Edward, because after all, you can’t have a ghost narrate a story can you?
Sorry, I just wanted to say that it is capable, and plausible with in-universe logic

Man, that was a much more intense episode than I expected! I expected the beef between Reginald and Randolph to be calamitous, but it ending with Randolph's death came as a huge shock. I was also worried for Edward when his boiler cracked and he went unconscious, but great to see that he pulled through! As for the other relationships in this episode, it's not surprising that Thomas and Kate broke up, given how nasty things got between them, and I wasn't expecting Reginald and Samantha to get hitched so soon! Glad to see Rosie becoming a permanent member of the Sodor fleet, but some more big changes will likely be on the horizon in next week's episode...
Also, did Randolph even KNOW that he had metal fatigue?
Victor does have a tendency to take fanon and do it right. I think now that we're moving into the 60s, now that we've covered advances in mental health treatment with Sir Topham, and with the topic of relationships of all kinds raised so close to each other, I think he might be gearing up to do "James is gay" but played seriously.

I honestly love the fact that James and Rosie have a platonic friendship rather than a full on romance. I imagine for James he’s not into trying to get back into the market ever since that munitions incident. Besides they’re better together as friends because they work like two peas in a pod.

Also I find it interesting how Kate and Thomas are through and that Sam and Regi got married. Plus that James and Rosie are just very good friends. Randolph having metal fatigue was the great shock for me here!! Reminds us too much of when Adam had it!! But at least he got the chance to apologize to Reginald, and in turn, he regretted what he did to his own brother at last, even if he did get the final firing, which was really downing to hear. And Edward's boiler bursting was almost as shocking. But great to know he got his knew boiler and attended the wedding! Congratulations, Edward! I knew you would recover very soon!

Yet another sad passing of an extra who still had ties with the main characters. Victor you have done such an amazing job giving these stories the life as if it were a human soap opera, heck you could consider this a semi soap opera. High praises, great storyboard and well written dialogues.

I agree. Honestly I thought Samantha was gonna be with Thomas, since through out the series Sam occasionally talked highly about him and to him. They both share similar personalities and I thought they look cute together. Although I can only recall ONE time where Reggie and Samantha are together on screen, and that was in her and Peckett’s introductory episode.
Had there been MORE interactions between Reggie and Sam throughout the series (working jobs together, flirting here and there, etc), I would’ve found them being together and quickly getting married more believable.
Im sad thomas and Kate split thomas comes back from a war only to lose another.

I loved this episode keep up the great work. I can relate to Reginald because I became estranged to most of my fathers family a couple of years ago and my grandfather passed away last year but I found he happily named me as one of his grandchildren so I knew he still had me in his heart and probably forgave me!

Like James and Rosie, I knew Reginald and Sam would get together! And even married with the good luck package! Figures that they were for each other since he first met Sam when she was having trouble with coaches whle handling them for the first time, with messed up results. So good to that pair as well.

Can we talk about Thomas do with the relationship with Kate that went left so quick, and I thought Edward was going to die at first but it turns out Randolph got metal fatigue. Still keep up the good work👍
While I did have the thought this was going to be an 'Amends' style story it actually takes a lot of different turns so we don't get a repeat of a previous episode. In a sense it's a bit like a cross between 'Amends' and 'Diagnosis'. Admittingly what Randolph said to Reginald before he arrived on Sodor was wrong but realising it and wanting to make amends was a good thing even if he did lose his life in the process. Looks like Thomas and Kate have split up after, but the question is: Will it be permanent? Maybe when we get to 'Flood' we'll probably find out. After all, if the mine flooded in 'Services' then it might flood again. In the mean, looks like Dr Beeching is about to enter the picture.

But, the very brief run down here, he is the infamous gentleman who performed an audit on every single mainline and branchline of British Railways, compiled a list of stations, branchlines, and facilities that were either not making enough money, or making none at all, and wrote an infamous report sent to higher ups that all of these should be closed. This was known as the "Beeching Report."
And, most of them were.
I guess I have mixed feelings, as it was both a blessing and a curse. Naturally, in business, you don't want to dwell on or hang on to something that is an ultimate money loser. Especially if it hemorrhages cash badly. That's a good way to put yourself out of business. So the dropping of some stations and lines that are ultimately pointless is understandable. BUT who's to say that they couldn't become more economical and successful with a bit of change? Because THAT is where the ultimate problem is. BR and Beeching didn't care to consider how some of these assets could be reused/revitalized to become more practical with the changing times. Their very narrow mindset was simply "does it lose money? If yes, then cut it, we are not even considering throwing another schilling at it."
Again, and not to be "that" guy, but I would really suggest searching the guy up if you are even remotely interested.

I knew it. I knew Thomas and Kate’s relationship would die. Two of the shorts between Seasons 3 and 4 spelled it out, so I’m not surprised.
Randolph returns alive and well and Reggie despises him, and then Randy died and Reggie hs nothing but love for him. It's only poetic and ironic twist for our favorite dark green Mittie.
Oh man what an episode! I was actually worried when Edward and Randalph nearly collided with each other and even more so when Edward's boiler burst. I was also shocked when I saw a huge crack in Edward's boiler.

I'm mind blown after seeing this one. Well done Victor on having everything build up and flawlessly falls into place. As for James and Rosie, I thought they would've been a couple, but they decided to be good friends, just like Eric and Molly. Finally I'm relieved that Edward pulled through getting a new boiler after that scary boiler crack, and that creeped me out seeing his eyes closed like that.
