Daintree National Park is a magical meeting of rainforest and reef, lying at the heart of the world heritage listed wet tropics of Queensland in northern Australia. The area is a living link to our planet’s distant past, to a primeval world from more than 50 million years ago. In this microcosm little has changed and ancient (check) plant life continues to thrive.

Absolutely brilliant! Just imagine in the time before modern man when the rainforest stretched seemingly forever!!! Where did we go wrong in our quest for ever more "stuff" to consume???Thank you again for the brilliant script, the incredible footage of Margit with her tree kangaroo passenger (btw what a country where a German ex-zookeeper could find a niche fostering joeys in her teeshirt!), the dedication of the people monitoring the health of the precious forest, and the ray of hope that gems like Daintree offer for our precious Mother planet.

Crocodiles are not directly descended from dinosaurs but they do share a common ancestor. However, birds are technically avian dinosaurs.

Birds are proof that dinosaurs were Not killed off by the notorious asteroid. They survived, they adapted, the eat far too much birdfeed in the winter!!!!!! Expensive things to care for, dinosaurs.

THE OLDEST CONTINENT IN THE WORLD
The narrator states the Australia is the oldest continent, but he does not state his criterion for age. He say Australia has the largest number of ancient, living, prehistoric plants and animals.
Wikipedia article > "Chronology of continents" > Lists the continents and their ages measured by Ma BP (million years BP) where BP is Before the Present. In the modern day, there are seven continents. Europe aged 5 Ma BP is the newest continent. Australia aged 10 Ma BP is the second newest continent. The other five continents are older than Australia.
