To this day, this is the saddest movie I've ever seen. Nobody wins. There's no real justice since the cultists never really "see" their sin, and "die" still thinking they're righteous in what they did. Rose sells her soul for her child, only to receive this changeling instead, with the real Alessa presumably being taken to hell along with the cultists in fulfillment of her own bargain with the devil. Dahlia's remorse and warnings were useless. Cybil sacrificed herself in vain. Chris is left all alone, powerless to ever help Rose, and must live out his life with the knowledge that her soul is trapped forever in the outer rims of Hell...
@@keyboardwarria officially a changeling is a trickster like imp or devil that replaces you and then feeds off the love that others have for you and once it is strong enough they can either kill you and take your place or simply let you starve to death however in this scenario she is simply a wolf in sheep's clothing
For those that were confused by this ending, before their return to the house Sharon, though told by Rose not to, looked and saw Alessa approaching them. Sharon was the remaining kindness of Alessa making the two parts come together, and therefore why they're stuck in a Silent Hill dimension.
Sharon is the good part of Alessa and Alessa's child. Dark Alessa is a changeling demon fused with the pain, hate, and anger from Alessa. Alessa is Alessa, though a psychic and burn victim wanting vengeance upon The Order. Dark Alessa didn't fuse with Sharon; she was curious and wanted to see how Sharon had grown. Dark Alessa channeled Alessa back into Sharon so she can become one and enjoy a good life, safe from The Order in Silent Hill. Dark Alessa kept Alessa's spirit and soul alive in Silent Hill until the time can come that she can be returned to Sharon. Dark Alessa took The Order to Hell with her. In fact, Dark Alessa was responsible for giving up Sharon to the Toluca County Orphanage for safe-keeping in the real world while The Order in Silent Hill was kept in a dark purgatory. Why is Rose and Sharon/Alessa stuck in purgatory? Silent Hill is too dangerous to reside in. They were allowed to go home in purgatory because it is the safest place for them both. Dark Alessa can intervene if need be. In the real world, Rose and Sharon/Alessa is in grave danger from The Order. Their attempt to "cleanse" Alessa brought Hell on Earth. The Order's sins against Alessa and other children poses a great threat to other children and people in general. Their power and influence makes them immune from prosecution for their crimes.

I saw this movie in theatres when it was released, and till this day I'll always remember this ending. To say it is "a very powerful scene" should do it some justice. So creepy, eery, sad and unique. After reading many of these comments my questions have basically been answered... but still, for years I was always puzzled as to what exactly was going on in this scene. Clearly they're both at the same place at the same time... but as everyone else said, they're basically in diff dimensions. Everytime I hear a siren like that I can't not think of Silent Hill.
MrWillyWonka Rose DaSilva never made it back to the real world, because she had to stay behind. Sharon, however, did make it back. Just a pure horror, emotions and a deep story that touches the bottom of your heart and live with you till the end of your life. SH revelation is just a crap, no story and bad actors choices. Also if the front door is able to stay open from them walking in why wouldn't the jeep be parked out front of the house too? Earlier in the movie when they crashed near silent hill the police & husband found the jeep crashed on the road. So a few things don't add up!!
When I was a kid I always received strange phone calls when I was home alone or with my gf alone . It was static no clear sound just static . Anyways It's called "white noise". What white noise is, is when the spirit world communicates by electronics you know so that's why the could contact but it was just white noise . And I think they died so it's purgatory so anything can happen . The car was trashed but like I said they're in purgatory .

Dude, that would be cool
A movie where Sean Bean doesn't die and it's a horror movie where most characters die... That makes sense.
The feeling of being across the world is relative but to be across the other side of Life is something that makes this ending so Haunting. This ending, mix with the grief mood and such calming sad Music has left its mark on my soul.
Still haunts me to this day... Such a wonderful film! 🤍
I really can not imagine how dare anyone ruin this masterpiece ? SH1 is the best horror movie ever, no cheap jump scares, no stupid psyco serial killer and tons of blood. Just a pure horror, emotions and a deep story that touches the bottom of your heart and live with you till the end of your life. SH revelation is just a crap, no story and bad actors choices. I've been playing SH since 1999 and for me it died after The Room. The western developers really ruined the game. Look at resident evil, didn't lose its sparks since nemesis or outbreak coz the developers didn't let go. I miss this type of soundtracks, I miss the original SH story 😢💔
Fraktur Obsession so which is better video adaptation Mortal Kombat or Silent Hill?
Fraktur Obsession hell yea, best horror movie ever!!
Tony Can Swag76 Silent Hill. And that's my final answer.
gosh i’ve been looking for this movie for almost 14 years 😭😭😭 i searched for “a kid who looked at the ghost then died” and “end of the movie where the main character thought he survived but he was actually dead”. this is so funny af but im glad i found it. my fave childhood horror movie
This part traumatized me as a kid.
(Besides the janitor scene, and when pyramid head ripped off the girl's skin scene)
September 2 2024 here. Somehow my mind told me tonight to search for this soundtrack of this movie and i also wanted to see the end of this masterpiece horror movie again. It touched me, just like other visitors here on TH-cam watching this final scene with very good timing of the soundtrack. This scene tells so much about the power of love in the humanity. You would never forget this final scene, how the actor and the actresses look like. Greetings from The Netherlands 😄❤🙏
Why does the ending always break my heart
i love how they use the music mainly from Silent Hill 2 .... the best soundtrack of all silent hills....
In Silent Hill there is no such thing as a happy ending..
this bittersweet ending...my gosh...T.T
Sean Bean doesnt die.
Not even in the second movie!
No, he suffers a fate worse than death: his family is trapped in some alternate hell dimension forever...
If I was stuck differently dimension world i would stand there at my Mother sitting chair say I am here I never left like this movie is masterpiece is about life and loves ones are never gone they are here inside of us we can find them
Excellent film, extremely underrated
for those who don't know... the flowers at the end are called "rose of sharon"
This is one of the saddest endings of a movie I’ve ever seen
contrary to what has people confused ..that "Sean Bean doesn't die in this movie" ...well ..he does...he dies inside.
he dies inside.
He could smell her perfume he couldn't see her 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
Life is hell..so we need somthing after..dreams ❤
ゲームのサウンドトラックをそのまま使用しているのが本当に効果的でした
Somebody can tell the name of the song that plays on final of the vídeo 2:52-3:13?
Gustavo Silva Silent Hill Soundtrack: Lost Carol
Tats TopVideos thank you :)
"Laura Plays the Piano" 0:29 - 1:22 or "Home" . Same piano, slightly arraigned different.
1:28 - 2:36 is "Magdelene Tears Of...Laura's Theme"
or "The Longing Remains" if you go from 1:28 - 3:13
Look for it under Akira Yamaoka.
Michael Fedo Thanks
I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR THAT SONG SINCE THE MOVIE CAME OUT, THANK YOU SO MUCH!
i can watch the whole movie just waiting for this scene.......and it kinda give me the same feeling when i watched the Mist ending
Best movie based on a Video Game...
0:35 Is this song the "epilogue"song but they repeat part of it for longer?
Poor father, atleast he saved cyrodil😅
This was a good ass movie and I'm watching again
the ending was just sad....
NO, they didnt die, the thing is once you come in, you never come out of silent hill.
OMFG!!! A horror movie, and they don't even kill off Sean Bean?! Do they at least kill him of in a sequel?
United Gamers We don't mention the "sequel" around these parts.
United Gamers In the horrible movie (AKA the sequel) He stays in Silent hill to look for the wife.
Senior Meatbox does he die?
United Gamers Never disclosed.
i can tell its a shit movie then
the ending inclusive the music was the best part in the movie.
Am i the only one who remembers a different ending ?
I remember he could see his daughter , and her mom stoped the car infront of the house and her daughter gets inside alone and hugs her dad?
That’s the remake. This one is when the mother said don’t look, but the daughter looked and now they’re stuck in the silent Hill dimension. But the father can feel and smell her perfume.
Most movies are let down by their endings. Truly great movies have good endings. Silent Hill has the best ending ever. It will haunt you forever. It is based on loss. What you lose cannot ever come back to you. You are lost forever. You can never beat this ending for there is no bigger feeling than loss. And the music, wow..............
such a painful ending to a great movie
This is so sad... rose is still stuck in silent hill forever and now the father is in THERE too...
Jeremie Fuentes the father is not there
Just you and me He is, in the sequel. He went there against his will, but stayed there of his own volition, to search for Rose.
Just saying, respectfully.
dang i forgot all about the sequel smh. it wasnt as good as the first one though.
Jose M. Figueroa Jr. Yeah i saw the sequel couple days ago you are right
TC Johnson yep the sequel was crap compared to the first one
Remembering past love ,once I saw him I knew I had knew from past life ,we just loved each other’s for 2 years ,now he’s married and has kids ,it was since 2007 and now it’s 2022 ,it’s his wife took to much of his time ,I wish he would locate me ,the problem is ,we both of us don’t have contact or social media about each other ,but I wish he’ll find me someday cause it’s my time to enjoy my life with him
Who ever did this movie...👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 I love it. And I'm going to watch it again.
I don't know if I love ❤ the scene cuz of the music or love ❤ the music cuz of the scene
They’re stuck in the gloom and doom of silent hill. Such a haunting ending.
Sharon is no longer there her adopted mother found a device and send her back to the real world
Beautiful cinematography
2:55 they let me feel the passion between me and my first love ,we’ve never talked to each other just by eyes ,and now he’s with someone else married and had kids .😔😔wish I’m him the best
Wow. I'm sorry. Same
@@noise6327 so sad , I know he loves me till now , because I know he remembers me ,cause I dreamed of him sleeping near me in same pillow then he toke me with , we’re soulmates but I do r know why not meant to be
@@playgroundboy907 I feel you. I miss my dead homies
Why didn't Christophe Gans direct SH: Revelation??? The movie would've been much better.
@ceremonials. False. Gaus never was in jail. And he's making a new movie about sh
Because the producers told him they wanted the sequel more like the resident evil movies and he said fuck that
1:33 so touching,they never returned back ,.
There's a few holes w this ending. Like if they're in another dimension how could she still make a phone call to her husband?
This is what it’s like coming back from some war. Or another
Rose and Sharon died since Alessa and Dark Alessa finished their revenge. Silent Hill dimension disappears and true place stayed quiet.
great movie base on a video game by far second to MK 1 and love the ending even if it's sad but hey it's silent hill so there are no happy endings here..
At least after all that horror we get an ending with something nice: plants in a garden being rained on.
I love this ending, and still think they should of showed the car parked out front when Sean Bean checked outside instead of showing the shrubs. It would be of been eerier even if it wouldn't make sense.
Michael Di Filippo not as eerie as your english though
DID ANYBODY notice that the camera panned to "ROSE of SHARON' flowers where the jeep was suppose to be.......
