Nice work man! I've been seeing a lot of nose repair and I like the way you shaped the nose back to the original one! I'll definitely do it in my board! Greetings from NL! ;)
it doesnt dry, it cures. with polyester at room temp you'll have around 15 min work time, then let it cure till it feels hard and not tacky. probably an hour if you add some moderate heat.
Take your board to your nearest shaper/ding repair guy. Pay him to do his job and do it well without you having to breath in toxic resin fumes and sand poly resin without a wax additive. Tip your ding repair guy.
There isn't a glass layer over the decorations on epoxy boards, and the actual beading is visible on fibre glass boards, along with other characteristics such as weight esc....
@@arthurfoulstone4425 no. although you'll get most of e,m correct that way it just isnt the correct answer. you can easily glass a board with epoxy and have the fibreglass structure show, do resintints etc when the used core is PU. its not as easy when the foam core is EPS because of the beady structure. EPS core boards always have epoxy resin used, PU core boards can have both polyester or Epoxy. if Epoxy is done really well it is superhard to tell which is which. Polyester is more brittle and polishes up better, so iff the board is a mirror finish high gloss thats a telltale sign it is polyester. but it can STILL be epoxy if the glasser /sander knew what he was doing orrr sprayed the board with automotive clear paint and polished that.
I fixed my first nose ding at my wife´s board with the big ding tools after watching the video - it worked perfect! Thanks guys!!
I have a large ding on my nose where the layer of fiberglass can be pulled up, revealing the foam. Should I cut this off before I use my filler?
Yes, remove damaged fibreglass.
