What I find gets missed in all Illmac’s rounds? Is two things 1. He makes the claim Rum took Twork’s PERFORMANCE style. People go on and on how Illmac is wrong for that, but he never said Rum took Twork’s pen game. And to be fair? MANY took Twork’s performance style 2. The message throughout, to me? Never was saying Rum was whack or trash. It came off more to me like Illmac was saying, ‘you do good, but I know you are capable of being FAR BETTER than just this’.

Yup I'd say Illmac 3-0. If Rum could've come in with a rebuttal then I might feel slightly different. But I don't see how this is close. @@tomford2893 Thanks for the breakdown, we get it. Turn your opponents greatest strength to a weakness. It’ll be effective if Rum wasn’t punching Illmac’s head off.
It's true, and I think his last line is the real point. People always say Rum is the "best puncher", but do people say he's the best PERIOD? Do you want to be known as Steph, the best shooter of all time? Or Bron? Arguably the best of all time period? Some people are good with one, some want the other. Why do we qualify Rum as the best PUNCHER and not just the best WRITER? Just things for us fans to debate about.
You're supposed to diss your opponent in a rap battle. Even Kool Moe Dee was dissing Busy Bee Starksi in 1981 on stage in the first ever battle - saying he used ghostwriters, bit Lovebug Starski's name, and had a corny flow. I go to your channel and see Drake in your playlists. Just say you like watered-down McDonald's hip hop.
@@default3252 Bruh! Are you following along? Who’s debating dissing your opponent? What does it matter what rap songs you listen to when debating Rum’s punching ability? What kind of weirdo checks the music playlist of commenters before replying? This sad and pathetic.
Big Rum Nitty fan ever but this was a clear 2-1 maybe 3-0 for Illmac. Illmac is more Hollow Da Don in that he's really hard to beat since he's able to provide an autopsy of your style and therefore weaking the impact of the punches.
Yeah. I got it 2-1 Illmac too. He's extremely well rounded as a battler like Hollow too. They both can do it all. Angles, multis, schemes, punching, name flips, an all that. He's been consistently working on his craft forever.
"that ain't punching, that's shadow-boxing." is a statement against a whole era of battle rappers. It reminds me of mook vs tay roc. It's a sober talk about terrible state of battle rap. It takes solid leaders to keep the community healthy. Thank goodness for Illmac.
@@madhands9887 I'm sorry to hear that. Punchlines are a rib of rap, a bigger rib of battle rap. Soul is the backbone. You gotta have soul. And in battle rap, you gotta talk to their soul. But Im old, so I also feel the same way about mumble rap, lol.
I knew the outcome of this battle before it happened. Nitty's biggest issue will always be his lack of potent angles and breaking down his opponent. Does that make him bad? No. He's still the greatest at what he does. But when he battles high tier battlers who can rap with him and break him down, it's not gonna go in his favor. If you say nitty had the bigger haymakers in this battle, it's true. Illmac just had everything and broke him down line by line. Reminds me of iron vs nitty. Nitty had crazy bars, but iron had that and full character break down.
Nitty's biggest issue is he only does one thing well. Solomon exposed him as a one-trick punchline pony in their battle. Nitty does surface-level multi-syllable/double-entendre gun/weapon punchlines with an occasional word-association scheme shoehorned in randomly. That's all he can do. Just individual 2-4 bar chunks with nothing connecting them into anything bigger or deeper.
@@JamaalMills ok. If Nitty beat Solomon he should've destroyed Illmac right? Because those were Nitty's words. "I actually prepared better for Illmac, I lowkey slept on Iron" then proceeded to show up with 3 rounds, 2 of which barely even hit 3 minutes with crowd reaction.
Macs 3rd is beyond legendary. That's 20 years of technique and direct fire he has had bottled for years. Top 10 battles all time imo. Salute to both of them. Replay value is unlimited. I show new people to battle rap this now.
That Einstein scheme at the end of the 2nd is so GODLY b. from the originality, to structure, to the delivery and the performance. Illmac won that round too and I think that was Nitty's best. Classic
This was one of those iconic battles, that has brewing for years, this should have way more views, fire battle. Salute to KOTD, came back just in time, this entire card was fire.
ill mac 2-1 personally that break down was to crazy. Definition of "let me talk to you rap" i understand if people got nitty he really just has haymaker after haymaker and the creativity of the punch plus the set up with the delivery and performance 15/10 boy really a alien.
Mac definitely one first and third round. Rum got it in the second round but I personally think Mac’s alien scheme was phenomenal but it went over heads
Fire battle, shoutout to Organik, he really love bars & shows no bias, always shows appreciation to everybody & even telling everybody to get back safe.
Great battle. I appreciate how Rum Nitty will take a scope of different types of opponents in different environments and still thrive. It’s good for the culture in general. Illmac still has arguably the best pen in battle rap…hoping he gets a run like Iron a few years ago where he got his flowers battling a string of top tiers in multiple leagues.
Guess it depends what you’re looking for, but Mac’s execution here was stellar! Broke down the limits of just punching while being well rounded enough to show the difference and really drive the point home. Mac just wanted it more in my opinion.
@@ebinflo102yeah I completely agree. If I prefer a perfect execution, I think Mac won. If I prefer punches that hit back to back, I think rum won. That’s what makes this an instant classic and a great battle.
@ wait you actually serious? 🤣🤣 if you say that then there’s no point in trying to convince you. Mac 30’d EAAASSSYYY lol. Literally dissected boi’s last 2 rds before they even happened lol
This is a clinic. Definitely a classic but Ill is just too good. Penmanship, delivery, angles etc. Man checks every box and is very direct. This feels like when JC battled Illmac. JC was on a trajectory to battle Loaded and lost to Illmac and now that battle may never happen. Same vibes here. Sheesh. 2-1 Debatable with Mac getting the first and Nitty getting the second. The comments are crazy with picking one side and saying the other side is trash or overrated lol. Both these guys are the best at what they do, and this is a fire battle on both ends. You don't have to hate on the other guy to say your favorite won the battle
💯💯💯
Facts 🔥
Saying all Rum do is punch is like saying all Steph do is shoot 3s.
he was saying he just punch BUT dont use personals thats the main part Imo he uses punches he can use on anyone not substances enough to be to a certain person generic out the box type punches
Illmac is easily one of top 3 greatest anglers in battle rap history. Him vs Frak would be crazy if it ever happens
Big Rum Nitty fan ever but this was a clear 2-1 maybe 3-0 for Illmac. Illmac is more Hollow Da Don in that he's really hard to beat since he's able to provide an autopsy of your style and therefore weaking the impact of the punches.
He said an autopsy of your style! Props
Yeah. I got it 2-1 Illmac too. He's extremely well rounded as a battler like Hollow too. They both can do it all. Angles, multis, schemes, punching, name flips, an all that. He's been consistently working on his craft forever.
Sorry bro you're wrong. Super close battle. 2-1 EITHER way. No 3-0 tho. CAP CAP CAP.
Lmao. Dont really think an opinion can be "wrong"
Rum 30
Your not the WORST. Your the BEST example! Illmac CLEAR
Nitty nice as always & looking great at KoTD, thanks Rum. Great battle, Illmac 2-1.
RIP Pat Stay
"that ain't punching, that's shadow-boxing." is a statement against a whole era of battle rappers. It reminds me of mook vs tay roc. It's a sober talk about terrible state of battle rap. It takes solid leaders to keep the community healthy. Thank goodness for Illmac.
Agreed
Its stupid punchline is the back bone of hip hop.
@@madhands9887definitely not
@@madhands9887 I'm sorry to hear that. Punchlines are a rib of rap, a bigger rib of battle rap. Soul is the backbone. You gotta have soul. And in battle rap, you gotta talk to their soul.
But Im old, so I also feel the same way about mumble rap, lol.
@@madhands9887if that was your takeaway youve completely missed the point.
That headstone bar was so perfect. Simple but perfect
Good point 💯
😂😂😂 illmac used the same exact angles for 3 rounds that every other battler used before against nitty, it was nothing special
😂😂😂😂nitty beat Solomon tho and there’s tons of substance in nitty material you have to listen for it
@@JamaalMills ok.
The fact Nitty had a rebuttal round for Illmac’s 1st was nasty pen work. To anticipate that with impeccable writing is next level
And Illmac freestyled two rebuttals that were classic, nitty got bodied 3-0
Awesome first round choke for Nitty too.
That “rebuttal round” was better served if he spit it first then didn’t spit gun limes
@@jamelwright3234 opinion
@@pngates crazy!
2 - 1 Illmac... He really dug into Rums style and character.
The light years between us bar was something truly out of this world. Pun intended. One of the hardest punchlines out recently!
Facts
He’s biting Soul let’s be honest
@@ayyguevara8448 he battled Soul check it out if you haven’t. They are similar
Classic
Nitty’s best was his 3rd
This was one of those iconic battles, that has brewing for years, this should have way more views, fire battle. Salute to KOTD, came back just in time, this entire card was fire.
A classic style clash where you're gonna go with your favorite, so i got illmac taking it. "That ain't punching, it's shadow boxing"
Hold on, i just came back to watch this for the 4th time since it came out. Its crazy that this not at a million views. This battle 🔥 AF
Best battle I've seen in awhile refreshing. I LOVE THIS BATTLE. I had rewind multiple times each round 🔥🔥🔥🔥
If u got rum it would be the 2nd and 3rd
If u got illmac it would be the 1st and 3rd
Replay value forsure💯
ill mac 2-1 personally that break down was to crazy. Definition of "let me talk to you rap" i understand if people got nitty he really just has haymaker after haymaker and the creativity of the punch plus the set up with the delivery and performance 15/10 boy really a alien.
Rum Nitty killed this, but I got Illmac 3-0.
Classic!!! Needed dis one felt like back in da day battlerap
Mac definitely one first and third round. Rum got it in the second round but I personally think Mac’s alien scheme was phenomenal but it went over heads
That's what I was thinking, that 2nd round was all Mac
God Tier Illmac in this one
Charron came in his pants at least 4 times during Nitty’s 2nd
😂😂 faacts
Fire battle, shoutout to Organik, he really love bars & shows no bias, always shows appreciation to everybody & even telling everybody to get back safe.
Nitty ... Fearless ...
ILLmac easily the best 2nd round ever recorded.
That’s what I’m saying I thought Mac’s 2nd was legendary. 2-1 or gentleman’s 30 for Mac
Use this as the “best battle in a long time button”
Great battle. I appreciate how Rum Nitty will take a scope of different types of opponents in different environments and still thrive. It’s good for the culture in general. Illmac still has arguably the best pen in battle rap…hoping he gets a run like Iron a few years ago where he got his flowers battling a string of top tiers in multiple leagues.
Coming back to this, Illmac is easily one of the cleanest & best writers in the game.
Rums 2nd is why he’s the best puncher ever
Rum won with the punches. Mac won with the smooth material. Crowd won with a classic battle.
@@popanz25 Facts! Couldn’t say it better.
Best replay value Battle
Mac absolutely dismantled this man oh my freaking gosh that was actually legendary. If not a classic battle classic performance from Mac sheesh
No way u watch this battle and said Mac won your crazy
@ wait you actually serious? 🤣🤣 if you say that then there’s no point in trying to convince you. Mac 30’d EAAASSSYYY lol. Literally dissected boi’s last 2 rds before they even happened lol
@@TheBlackJewelzrounds from rum were still 🔥 so… 🤷♂️
@@bermykingz301 oh he definitely cooked. I think it’s very obvious though that Mac was just wayy more tactical, and a bit more creative too
This is a clinic. I give the nod to Illmac. This a preference call. Both rappers stayed in their pockets and performed at their highest level. Great battle! BOTY candidate for sure.
JC did not lose that battle. And this battle aint debatable...Illmac won this clear and clean lol
Thanks for the response! I'll have to watch the JC Illmac one more time to see why you think JC won that battle. It was a while back. @@jayholman502
This a win for the fans. Legendary level battle!
My man said "distance" to finish an Einstein scheme, that's WILD WILD ish
Yo that 3rd round Mac spit is underrated. That angle about Mac’s losses are public record and Nitty’s vaulted performance gave him impunity is crazy.
People acting like this was just a timing difference, or that Mac had a breakout performance like he’s just some lil guy trying to hang w the greats:
Y’all need to go and watch:
Mac vs Bigg K
Mac vs Bender
Mac vs Soul
Mac vs A Ward
Mac vs Pat Stay
Then say he ain’t a legend! 🐐
That’s actually exactly what it was. It was a breakout performance and Mac’s rounds were twice as long.
Even if I go by your list, which I disagree with, you’re saying Mac hasn’t killed anyone in 4 years.
Nitty: says a bar
Organic: Whaaaaaat!?!?!
Thats how you know that Organik loves them bars❤💯
so glad illmac is about to go on another run, every time he comes back somehow even better than before. rum is so much fun to watch too. this a future classic debatable imo, i'd probably edge it 2-1 illmac but ain't mad at anyone who says otherwise
This battle should have WAY more views. These dudes went absolutely nuts
Illmac battling has been sorely missed. No ring rust detected. This was a classic debatable. Personally i had ill 2-1, could go either way
Salute to both mc's
"It might get a reaction from them. From me, it only gets a response in the form of a question is that the best that you got?"
"I pack barrels just for Rum" bar and the crop circle corny rebuttal was INSANE
edit: oh my god... the space bars. Quantum mechanics, gravity bending time, wormholes, light speed/distance??? Illmac is insane.
Craaazy battle! So many huge moments
Nitty fan, but Illmac won this and spoke to his soul and culture. 2.5 - 0.5.
And that’s final! Bam!
"They ask me how i get some graphic wit the words ..i tell em issa gift/gif" 🥶🥶
we at opposite ends of a warm hole where time veers to reach us you standing right here but it's light years between us... yea he got that
My favorite battle on the internet right now! Watched at least 10 times lol
How you get so graphic with the words ?!?!
It’s a gif. (Gift)
That's crazy
🔥
This is that energy that we all need.
📠 Couldn’t agree more.. Sec it ended, I kinda was thinking to myself : “Damn this was a well rounded, damn near perfect battle”. Gotta 10/10 from me. Salute KOTD for sure, keep em coming. 🫡 💯
This battle is a classic. I've watched it so many times already. Favorite battle so far this year. They both went in. 💯
Battle rap is in its PLATINUM ERA right now. Every league dropping heat and consistently
The culture has won again 💯
Illmac will always be a goat…every era he’s fire…amazing writer and rapper…fire battle from both
This was a preference battle, two different styles, both did they job well.. classic....
I thought off top Rum Nitty 3-0 and then Illmac went crazy. I got ILLmac no debate
Rum a punch alien but illmac pen is just something else.
*Great battle, Mac was just too brilliant that night. Rum had moments. But Mac out rapped him at every turn*
Just caught “nothing special about Mac, it’s just a Thousand Islands” 🔥 🔥 🔥
His creativity is unparalleled. I can’t pick it over the angles and writing Illmac was showing tho. 2-1
"I can't put you on my Mt. Rushmore, but I can give you a headstone!" 🪦🪦🪦 🔥🔥🔥
That was crazy. Nice to see two battlers go hard AF
This is didn’t kill Rum, but it’s surely gonna make him stronger.!
Salute to iLLMac for such a Masterclass Performance 🫡
I got shivers when he dropped the Bender battle lines.
FACTS! 🙏
Damn, Mac talked to Rum's soul. That shit hit him hard. Had him talking through his rounds. To the point he had to be told to stop.
I got Mac 2-1.
Year later & this is still a great battle
2-1 possible 3-0 Illmac ! Everyone saying nitty are d eaters
We need more Illmac. I hope to see KOTD make a resurgence with him as one of their elites 🔥
