Reading the comments on the JCW site about this case, most complaints are about the included mounting plate. I'm glad you discovered that the case will mate to a Givi plate. I have a Givi top rack model # 529F2 that I'm going to mount to my SV1000S. The mount plate on my rack is almost identical to yours. Instead of getting side cases, I'll go ahead and order the JCW large case. I just wanted to post that this case will fit the Monokey racks for the SV1000S so that everyone will know.
@xplorermopar Yeah, I think the large one would look tacky. The smaller one might be okay though. You can also do some of the smaller, sportier saddlebags too.
@motorhead1 Man, I totally forget. I just tried to look it up on both the Sears and JCWhitney website and couldn't find it, but then again I only looked real quick. I probably wasn't searching right. Anyway, they have to be out there because I've seen a ton of the same ones overseas.
@motorhead1 Yeah, I have the larger one. It's definitely not as robust as a Givi, but for me it works great. I've had it for about a year and it's going strong.
You could also just take the tool box out from where it normally would be, and put it right in the top box along with the rest of your stuff, then if you need it, all you need to do, is open up the box, and there it is.
@iamfirelust I'd just use the one that comes with the case itself. It's not a bad mount, it just needs some drilling. Then again, maybe it doesn't for an '08.
The Givi Rack looks like it would be a better mount to use, but what rack would you use for an 08 or above, and where could you get it? any help is much appreciated! :) thanks in advance!
Do you need a luggage rack in order to install this? I have a ninja 250 and I am sick of carrying a backpack in stores.. Hopefully you can get back to me... Thank you!!!

@gc1226gabriel It's the M5 Monokey. Good question.

@alanabernethy This was the large size.
Would it be possible to put slots in the mounting plate or the bikes luggage rack so you can just slide the box back to get at the tool case.

If it has a small rear rack, it might be worth shot.
Hey Mikepags...what is the mount plate model#?
