14 minutes of electric guitar at its best. Top quality sounds, playing and recording. This is what the DSL and JVM tried to do but never managed to achieve.
That dude with the bini, far out, he rips. The amp sounds stellar. loved the cleans and tele tone was nice. all tones had a great cut in the mix and sounded great.
Normally his tones and mods are too thick and wooly for my taste. But this amp just rips! Big open dynamic. The strong definition is incredible. But the way it cleans up is mind-blowing.
First of all…KILLER CHOPS! Ok now as far as tones go, I think that these days it’s really easy to get those heavier tones. Now those extremely clean, crystal like tones…so impressive! I’m completely blown away!
Mamma mia che spettacolo, grazie di cuore per tutte queste esecuzioni, mi hanno riportato indietro nel tempo. Grandissima esecuzione. Ampli stratosferico 💯🎸
Well that was everything I hoped for and more - what a great collaboration, choice of tones, that beast has so much head room - took on everything with ease - .think my smile was bigger than Jasons @ the 1 minute mark ...more content like this please!
Hello from France, the guitar demonstration is incredibly good, Simon Hosford plays divinely well and the amp head delivers absolutely exceptional sounds, the video can be watched and listened to with great pleasure, it would be really cool to have these amps in France, all the best for the rest of the Headfirst amps ;-)
the tele riffs were very cool.....Simon is a kick ass player, sooo much musical scope...feel...timing...cheers from Vancouver Island @ Jason & Simon.....that was awesome
You both did a fabulous job on that AcDc song. Ive never actually taken time to learn that so it was cool to see the close ups. And the gentleman doing all the runs- Fabulous playing! I need one of those Buttercream strats
@@HeadfirstAmps I know the amp is Marshall DNA as opposed to trying to be a catch all of different brands, classic amps but an interesting follow up vid could be different tones through different speakers. Even though IR’s aren’t ideal, it may be the easiest way. Even though a Greenie is my favorite overall speaker for everything, an Alnico for clean and edge of breakup tones, a stiffer, higher wattage speaker for the filthy, metal like tones. Fanes for medium gain, highly dynamic rhythm ala Pete. Also, as the amp seems tightly voiced, for the folks worried about not enough sag or “bloom” (lol), demo it with a tweed/45 voiced drive or fuzz, to see how it does with a more early to mid 60’s approach. Or another Headfirst model altogether that incorporates Vox and Fender DNA? Anyway, just spitballin’….still sounds great as is.
Hi there :) Thank you for the kind words.. LOVE Meshuggah!!... they're Seymour Duncans, but I forget which kind.. not high output, I never use super high output.. would have been a 7 version of an Alnico 2 Pro I think... you can here it much more on my video here if you like: th-cam.com/video/3jic4hjeyVY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=MI6PSqMENg-wLuHW
Hello there :) Yes, some reverb in post (just the Dverb that comes with Pro tools).. but no reverb/delay pedals running into the amp at all. We added a little post production reverb on everything.. otherwise, it's just too dry and doesn't sound realistic. 🙏
@@HeadfirstAmps ive wanted one of these amps since i saw Leon todd do his review here in Perth... so much goodness... one day when i have a few spare $$$ 😁
You know I really like what Headfirst has to offer and would like to buy one, but and probably as others, I am verrrry hesitant and one of the main reasons is that the amps are always showcased thru an AxeFX and/or with a tone of FX on!! Almost ANY amp can sound good like that. Headfirst, as well as other amp companies realllly need to stop doing that or putting in a mix. The only true way to assess an amp virtually and without playing one directly, is to only do showcased clips Direct-In. NO FX, whether pre or post. Looking forward to amp-only clips in the future.
There are quite a number of demos of this amp already up on this and other channels, most recorded dry with a mic on a cab. None of them are ‘in a mix’ or recorded in a professional studio with a serious pro player. So yeah, we were going for something different in this video rather than just the good old dry amp videos which have already been done and posted.

Alta is sick af. Soon to be the industry standard.
Wow the volume cleanup on "it's not love"...😎
Hi John :) Yes it's amazing right? Jason has done an incredible job with that.. so lovely
@@SimonHosfordyeah, Jason has a great ear for tuning amps. All of his modded amps sound glorious.
Hey btw, you're playing is stellar.

Wow this man can play and 2nd this amp kicks arse I wish I had money. Can see why Jim root is all over this

Nah most tube amps have a nice clean some are better than others but it is much harder to get good heavy tones that stay tight and don't mush out.
@@bobdillon1138 Not these days
Thank you for adding a George Lynch tone! Sounded awesome!
A great amp put through it's paces by a great player!! Cheers Gents!!
Friggin great showcase video for the Alta. Well done!!
Fuking Stellar!!!
Oh , can someone pick my jaw off the floor please ! Awesome work Jason ! and also thanks to this great player demo-ing the amp with great skills !
Wow, thanks!

DUDE! I especially love the orange Maton and Nuno. P-Rails? Amazing talent. And great amp BTW.
Hi there Jon :) no not P-rails.. just Seymour Duncan Alnico Pro 2's

The Modeler Slayer. Epic Tones. Mind blowing playing
Wow thanks! “The Modeler Slayer”, I love that!! How good is Simon, right?

So you've created the best amp ever! Because that's what it seems like to me! Bloody awesome.
Thank you!
Thank you!
Really well done mate. All those tones were great. Love that response to volume roll off.
Thanks for listening

Tracy! A 2024 job perhaps?….we’ll see! Hope you’re doing great buddy.
need a Gareth Liddiard signature model
never heard of simon before this video but boy does he rip!
Great to hear a bit of Meshuggah! What pickups in the yellow 7 string?

Bet it can't nail the greatest amp tone ever ; line6 spider! 🤣. But seriously mate, it's a killer amp! Congrats 🤜
Now y’all are tappin’ into it!
Take that amp to the streets,
find the dudes
& start counting French fries.
Let’s go, I’m ready right now.
Unshakeable.
Great job! What's the pickup in the 5150 Kramer replica?
Hi there :) It’s a Bareknuckle ‘Rebel Yell’. Really great sounding pickup.. 🤟
Amazing sounds and playing… but no delay or any effects on mean street?

awesome stuff ! sounds so good... is the reverb in the amp or added later ?
Added later. There were no pedals in front or in the fx loop for the recording.
@@HeadfirstAmps i was thinking so... great tones 😀

Thanks Lyle!
Sweet Jesus of Christ that amp slays! When can we expect a 20W Alta?
😮😮❤❤
Question: he has some reverb on there obviously - where does that come from?
Pro tools
Jason, what guitar is that on the 2nd song?
That’s a custom Maton made for Simon, same as the yellow 7 string.
Was the amp going to an IR or a cab? What speakers?
Cab - it’s shown in the video during the AC/DC section at the beginning
