  • After amazing mission at the highest peak of Finland it's time to move to Lake Termis. An area known for Finland’s best couloirs.
    In general, finding multiple options for steep riding is very rare in Finland but this place is an exception. It has many clearly visible couloirs and holds great potential for freeriding. Termis gets a lot of wind and is famous of it’s rugged beauty. This is one of the most amazing natural high country environments in Finland.
    Enni Rukajärvi, one of the most accomplished Finnish snowboarders, stayed for this mission also and what an adventure it turned out to be.

    Love this series. Nice to see pro riders backing out when conditions get to scetchy.

      I guess the difference between an amateur and a pro is that an amateur does not back out.

    I've been up there in summer and I almost got a heart attack when I looked down at the edge. And a double WOW that you actually climbed it up. Respect!

    This series is awesome showing things about finland i never knew. Im from Finland and i never thought there were colouirs. I just recently skied my first colouir with my dad and twin brother, it was so fun. I was also thinking about making a similar video about skiing colouirs. Thank you for the inspiration so much!

    I was a bit curious why you had the axe in your hand on the way down. Was it to able to stop if you crashed?

    • @AnttiAuttiChannel
      @AnttiAuttiChannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, so when there is a chance of ice in the line I always take ice axe just in case if something were to go wrong. Then I would at least have maybe a possibilty to stop myself slipping down the face

  • @MrIsomer

    I don't want to take away from this guy's courage, skills and dedication... but why risk your life in icy hardpack?

    • @AnttiAuttiChannel
      @AnttiAuttiChannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Great question. Personally I don't see that I was risking my life at any point on the icy couloir. It all comes down to understanding the conditions and your own abilities. Also the grade of slope plays a huge part. For example, on a slope with big exposure I would not have made the decision to ride but on this case the slope and conditions were manageable to do it the way I did it. By going faster I would have put myself and my crew in much bigger danger so I appreciate your question and thoughts because it is very valid point you are making. Thanks for taking your time to share your thoughts.

    Yes I believe that it is extremely difficult to find mountains with multiple couloirs since there is no mountains in Finland at all, too low to be mountain :-)
