    Being a sunni. Syed Ammar is correct. The taraweeh salah was an innovation of syedna Umar. TarAweeh salah is actually just the tahajjud salah.

      I’ve found Sunnis both agree and disagree with you. Some say that the bidaah part is not the fact that it’s a bidaah in that it was never or only done occasionally and Umar created a new Sunnah. But it was a bidaah in the sense that it was revived by Umar. I feel that this opinion requires a bit of mental gymnastics.

    • @A.A471
      @A.A471 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      @@155stw No there is no need to cause a rift here. We are all Muslims seeking Sirat Al Mustaqeem. The 'mental gymnastics' is what "they" like to use against us. I’d prefer if we don’t fall into the same antagonist tone as some of them do, especially in this month.
      With respect brother, please try and have a more respectful tone, especially as this brother is doing something difficult by admitting the truth. How would you feel if you had to admit the truth about, for example, Imam Ali A.S doing something wrong, astagfarallah, that would never happen, but put yourself in their shoes, because Umar is a a big revered personality to Sunnis, just like Imam Ali A.S is to us, so we must be considerate for our Muslim brothers who are finding the truth, as are we.

    so how can a sahaba add or subtract to the religion , aren’t they just supposed to follow THE ORDER of ALLAH and HIS Beloved Holy AhlulBayt(AS) like the rest of us ?

      As a Sunni myself this is our view (no intention to argue just telling my undertsanding) The Prophet (saw) prayed taraweeh alone at his house coz he didn't want it to become fardh and burden his companions. However he stopped praying it when his companions started noticing and tried praying with him. Umor (ra) decided to carry on this prayer coz Muhammad (saw) never forbid it, so it's still a optional prayer. Its all about trying to get the most out of ramadan and do more nafl prayers. This Imam, while very knowledgeable mashAllah seems to not believe there is good bidah (bidah that isn't against the sayings of the prophet (saw) and the Quran and is done carefully without making it compulsory)

      He prayed Tahajjud. Because it was compulsory on him but not the sahabas. However when the sahabas started emulating him, he scolded them. As they started praying it as if it was obligatory. The taraweeh is an innovation of Syedna Umar. Islamically there is no such thing as taraweeh, its just tahajjud. Which can be prayed after isha if you have difficulty breaking your sleep.

    30 nawafil x last 10 nights = 300
    This completes 30 nights of the month =700 nawafil

      Yes, In the first and second decades of the month of Ramadan, 20 rak'as of prayers should be said (10 prayers each of which has two rak'as): 8 rak'as after the salat al-maghrib, 12 rak'as after the salat al-'isha', and in the third decade of the month of Ramadan, 30 rak'as should be said every night: 8 rak'as after salat al-maghrib, and 22 rak'as after salat al-'isha'. In addition to these, 300 rak'as are recommended to be said in the nights of Laylat al-Qadr.

    Salat Taraweeh is neither obligatory, nor Sunnat. Its a practice that originated from the concept of " Qiyaam-ul-Lail". During the reign of Khalifa Umar Bin Khattab, it was established to offer it as congregation as an administrative decision. So, those insisting on it are wrong and those who totally call is haraam or prohibited is also on an extreme end. The beliefs and Practices of Islam are based on Quran and Sunnat of the Prophet Muhmmad SAW.

      Brother, didn’t you watch the lecture, it is clear in Sunni Sahih books that Umar made bidah. First of all, you don’t deny Umar made bidah. Secondly, you make seem as if Umar‘s bidah has had no problematic impact on Muslims today. So many Muslims are under the believe that praying "Taraweeh" in Jammah is valid and highly recommended that it becomes VIRTUALLY obligatory during Ramadan for Sunni Muslims. With that said, if in this lecture, it has been proven by Sunni books that "Taraweeh " is bidah, that means many Muslims are doing something of innovations. This innovated group prayer goes against fundamental religious principles, as proven by Sunni books.
      The fact that you are trying to attack other Muslims as your argument, shows your weakness to defend the authenticity and validity of the prayer of "Taraweeh ".

    Using Sahih muslim and Bukhari to try and disprove the legitimacy of Taraweh (which is sunnah) while your Shahada (which is a prerequisite of islam) and adhaan are adulterated is hypocrisy of the finest degree. The Prophet S.A.W. prayed taraweh with the sahaba and he refrained from it with fears it will become wajib upon the ummah as the ahadith clearly states which he has done numerous times in his lifetime (i.e. refraining from nawafil so that it doesnt become a burden and be considered wajib upon the ummah).
    When Umar R.A used the words excellent bid'ah, he was referring to the practice of praying taraweh in congregation which they did with S.A.W and he was restoring it after many years of them not praying it in congregation after the previous ahadith showed the prophet stopped it. Not that he forbade it. And although it is true that sunnah prayers are more beneficial at home than at the mosque, the same is true for woman for fard prayers. That doesnt mean they arent allowed to go to the mosque to pray does it?

    • @Adam-iz5kh
      @Adam-iz5kh 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      Don't spread false narratives.
      The Prophet prayed tahajjud not taraweeh.
      Umar referred to it as a bidah because it was an innovation in the religion.
      It is as simple as that.
