I just published by Flight VLOG for Singapore Airlines in May 2024 to document my first ever premium cabin experience from SIN-PVG
- Boeing 777-300ER first class and not A380 suites
- But regardless, still costs $6,365.20 per way, for a 5.5 hours flight
- 6365.20/5.5 = S$1,157.30 per hour (insane hourly rate)
- Doesn’t make any sense unless you’re a multi-millionaire or your company is paying for it
SQ Award Flights: 58,500 Miles and $65.20 in Airport taxes
E.g. 58,500 with 4 mpd card will require 58500/4 = S$14,625 spending at least
Spread it out by 12 months = 14,625/12 = S$1,219 per month
Considered much more reasonable now
The same $14,625 spend if put on a 5% Cashback card, Cashback = 5% * 14,625 = $731
Total cost = 731 + 65 (taxes) = S$796 net
- Premium flight: Journey starts from your origin airport, instead of the holiday destination after customs
