Your DIY widebody on the MR2 got me here and I’ve never left. Can’t believe how professional the channel is now, this is just the beginning. I’ll see you at 1m
Yeah those gussets are overkill, but that is just right in this case. Nice to see it looking much more like the rendering. Keep up the hard work and the family life!
I'm so happy to see he has a friend with same crazy shit hobby to work with. Been here since MR2 and i can say your progress getting faster and your skills getting better! Keep it up bro. Hope you and Chase have more project coming after this.
Tremendous! You two seem to work very well together! It's refreshing to be able to watch vids like this doing things I'm very interested in, learn along the way and NOT have to endure profanity laced vids where, in the end, they blow it all up and act like they meant to do it. Keep up the awesome work! Family man living his automotive dreams out. Couldn't be better!
Honestly I thought you guys where crazy. Trying to pull off this kind of modification with no experience. Looked like an accident just waiting to happen. But after watching your videos it’s clear this is no joke and your taking it very seriously. Your skills are developing really fast. You sure took the trial by fire approach and it’s definitely paying off. Awesome work guys. Keep it up, looking forward to seeing your creation on the streets.
Dude you guys are hilarious you wouldn't care what people think if you thought you looked goofy! I love it! Enjoying the videos and the build! I can't wait for more!!!!
Out of the box thinking! I love it! A Lamborghini drives by. me “oh just a lambo”. The Siks20 drives by. Oh shit did you see that! Hold my beer, I think I just broke my neck.
I fear for those balljoints and how long they'll stay around for. Maybe add a bump stop so the suspension doesnt fully compress and cause over wear and then a balljoint failure. I am curious about the further progress of this truck. Glad you guys are having fun and doing what you love.
I just want to tell you, this is one of my favorite channels. I like how you put your family first, let your boys feel like they are helping, and you just seem like a wholesome guy. A lot of people on here have horrible mouths, cuss, make crude comments, ect. If I didn't have to work every day, I would definately come lend a hand. I live in the Shoals area (NW Alabama).
Absolutely amazing! Chase has country singer voice, does he play? I think you should make a Nailed it! meme using the rendering and that final front shot of the truck lol You guys are super inspiring, props!
@@chasetrippe Heck yeah man! I (attempt) rock/metal on my other channel. I am learning and don't have a camera yet but check me out sometime: #brokeatbest I just got an accoustic but it's broken, like all my other instruments lol
Cool! I'll check it out! I'm always happy with some hot/crunchy distortion and a few pinch harmonics. 🎸 I've thought alot about picking up another acoustic. I had a epiphone aj-100 for a long time. It was cheap, but it played really good.
Seeing that you wont have to really have wheel wells in the bay you shouldn't have a single problem with space in the bay lmao you can fit anything in there lol
Ls6 intake is 6" shorter height(w/o evap) and flows better if you dont want to cut the hood. ls1tech.com/forums/conversions-hybrids/1724815-intake-manifold-heights.html
That's awesome to know. If we can't get it done here we could probably get some really cool shots of the truck around Atlanta anyway. I know Kaleb isn't scared of a road trip lol.
Please 1 week? He probably has over 100 hours in this just to get here. Custom building a car you just copped up is a huge deal. As a fabrication and custom design automotive builder myself I'd say he's doing just fine. I may not agree with every thing he's doing but that's is what makes it unique and how you really learn trial and error and attempting to do what has not been done. You can't run to Google and ask how do I make a custom wide body truck. Then come back with a blueprint of the details. Also being that he is a father and husband with a family it doesn't make it easier.
Stuff like this takes a LOT of time. This is also one of the most important steps to making this build perfect. Be patient and realize how much time and effort this actually takes.

i hope you get as big as chrisfix or donut media 🙏
As I watch these build videos I have a big old cheesy grin on my face! Can’t wait to see this finished!
I can’t wait to see the cab back on and to see you move on to the body work!!! This truck is going to be amazing!!!
Liked how you made the extra effort to explain the steps you took in this video. Looking forward next one

I'm loving it so far. Just please remember to clean it up when you get closer to finishing, nothing better than a clean car!

Add another gusset from where you're pointing at 9:56 back into the main rail to eliminate the stress at join of new +old ???
Bro this thing is amazing, actually started looking for a datsun 😅 I love the ol' hilux but I have a sweet spot for these things

Day after day, your edit get better, your work more awesome. Thanks dude
How did you determine the width for the front? Are you matching it to the width of the Chevy rearend? This is a really cool build!

Get Khyzyl Saleem to design the bodykit ;)
Are y'all gonna clean everything? Like frame, engine, body
Do the frame white lol Has that been done? Get you some of that IMRON like on the cement trucks. Tough stuff! They used to acid wash it!

So nice, you guys aren’t going to be dealing with rust from that paint 🤞
Whow I love it 😍👍👍👍👍
So sick
The 2 thumbs down were datsun purists lol
🤣
I didn’t think 206lbs was still considered big in the USA? 🤪🤙
. . . It isn't 🤣🤣🤣
I like to call it heavy athletic. 😅
Throw some fish plates on all those gussets lmfao
Maybe I'm wrong but I think this car is going to be a little bit to front heavy.
That frame is so wide (or as the kids say PHAT)! Talk about gusset overkill.
LOL i hope ur being sarcastic. kids said PHAT when i was a kid now they say THICC but yeah this frame is a bit crazy . "probably wooooooshed myself"
