STAR OF WONDER - A Scattering of Carols”

Clonakilty’s Medazza singing group hasn’t been able to meet physically since lockdown began. Normally, at this time of year, we would be out and about, singing our hearts out and raising funds for a local charity - but this year, we - like everyone else - had to re-think it. We opted to send short phrases and fragments from our Christmas repertoire off into the ether, via our mobile phones, to our facilitator Clodagh Simonds, who, once they’d all safely landed, assembled them against a backdrop of bells, harmonium, and seasonal atmospherica (is that a word?) into this, our “STAR OF WONDER - A Scattering of Carols”. You’ll also hear our kids, and our grandchildren, singing and playing along with us.
This year, Medazza are supporting the Clonakilty Friends of Asylum Seekers, who provide friendship and support to families seeking international protection, living in the Clonakilty Lodge Direct Provision Centre. You can hear many of the children from the Lodge on the piece also, sending you their own Christmas wishes. We’re all in this strange and scattered Christmas together! We hope you’ll throw something in the cap for them, download the Carols, and enjoy listening to it over the holiday season!
