Michel van Biezen Do you read Griffiths or older books because those books tend to explain Relativistic formulas as the mass changing but new books have gotten rid of that and instead say that the velocity is the one that changes from observed velocity or dx/xt to the best understood proper velocity or AKA dx/dtau where d(tau)=dt/gamma.
Mehdi Saffar The momentum of Newtonian physics doesn’t include Relativistic properties rather what we see, on the thing moving with the velocity v we measure is the non Relativistic momentum or the momentum we measured as observers standing still since things traveling at speeds of v relative to observes with velocity 0 perceive their own clocks moving slower relative to us but yet they would feel normal looking at their clock tick like we would on our watch or my fancy watch young student.

Can we find the velocity directly from the momentum p, similar to what we do in newtonian physics with p = mv ?
You can, but you have to make sure you use the relativistic mass and momentum when you do.
