- We flew flair airlines from Calgary to Abbotsford on Canadas newest budget airline, flair airlines. We wanted to review flair airlines and talk about this ultra low cost, the budget airline was actually what we expected, flair airlines was cheap had no-frills, but it got us from point a to point b. After you watch this video you can decide if you should book with flair airlines.

Have you flown on a budget ariline? Yes or no? Would you fly with budget again?
Was the size of your backpack ok to be considered as a free personal item? I have a Nike Alpha backpack I always use as a personal item on bigger airlines but idk if flair would make me pay for this?
@@abigailagyei-gyamera7759 Yes it was! (my backpack is a little bigger than what they say is allowed, but it still fits under the seat in front of me - dont tell anyone haha) they didn't question me when I went on. If you had a backpack and a purse, they might question you though!
Kurtis & Chelsey awesome to hear! So they didn’t stop you at the gate to put your backpack in the metal box thingy to make sure it fit before letting you on the plane lol?
@@abigailagyei-gyamera7759 haha nope! As long as it's not a HUUGE bag I think you're okay. They did stop people in front of us, but they tried to take on a roller bag as a personal item. I am confident a backpack will be okay!
@Lena Jafarova-Lee we still fly flair all the time. Its a cheap flight from point a to point b.
I work for Flair, if you would like to seat select for free.. just check-in for your flight online at 24hours to departure, you will find a lot of seats still available. Also, always pay for your add-ons such as bags online prior to 24hours (or at least 2 hours) to departure time.

Flew on Flair several times and found the experience exactly as advertised. It's a no-frills airline, hence, no frills. Check in carefully, follow the prompts and when all is said and done, you've paid for a checked bag, seat selection and insurance if you wish it, and the fare is still way below the so-called legacy carriers. Great to see competition in Canada FINALLY!
100% This! 👆 I'm so thankful for the low fares they offer that allow me to see my son and long distance friends more often. I think flair is fantastic.
I understand that the optics aren’t great when the agent is rough with your bag but as a former baggage handler at the Calgary airport I can assure you that your bags are thoroughly tossed around all the way to your destination.
Right, and the chefs in the kitchen touch your food. Doesn’t mean your server should! Lol

The older one in the pink and blue is one of their older 737-400s, and those are being replaced by the newer 737-800 that was in the newer, green and black paint.
The #3pandas are flying Flair from Waterloo to Abbotsford, praying for a smooth flight. #seehappydaddy
Super helpful. A normal person showing up at the check-in counter can get conned with these tiny loopholes. Especially older or not-so-tech savvy people. Thanks.

They delayed my flight twice in 24 hours before the flight departure due to "passenger delays". Then 3 hours before the original departure date, they cancelled it altogether due to maintenance. I was on hold on the phone for 3 hours. Garbage experience. Never Again. If you have any hotel reservations, the next flight might be 3 days after. Is it worth it? Its worth your sanity.

Should the passenger pay for the seat separately? Or it’s been paid if the passenger wants a specific seat?
The number one thing I always say to people when they bash Ultra Low Cost Carriers that "you have to pay extra for everything": You are paying for most of that stuff on the premium carriers whether you use any of it or not. It's all included in that premium fee. Don't look at it as extra fees on a low cost carrier, but being able to select a la cart what you actually pay for.
What should be done for online checking? The last point that you mentioned!

Thank you for this. Coming from Toronto to Vancouver on Thursday. Im a photographer with a large backpack. Im worried I can’t carry it on. The add ones don’t make it seem woth it. Kinda freaked out they will want me to check my backpack with all my photo gear.

If I don't do seat selection will they make sure I'm seated with my children? That's always my biggest fear not picking seats.

i got to go vancouver to prince george (not a fabulous destination) and it was only 99$! that’s about 1/3 of what gas would be there and back
Wholly mackeral, I remember flying Air BC back in the 90's from P.G. to Van and it was almost $500.
Worst , they lost my bag and its been 4 days, wt do i do? They say the same thing everyday that they have escalated my request to thr baggage team and i cannot contact the baggage team. I am tensed. Wt can i do plz tell?
What do you mean by check in beforehand? Does it mean you click ok ok and check in? or you have to print out an actual ticket by yourself?
You check in online and the e mail your ticket with a QR code and buy your seats. If you wait till your at the AirPort, buying your seat will be very expensive!
Flair started flying to Thunder Bay from Toronto
Don’t even think of using Flair Air!!!!! My brother and wife are stuck in Ottawa airport as I type. Their 11:15am flight to Edmonton doesn’t have enough people booked so after several delays, they aren’t going to depart till 9:15Pm!!!! That’s IF they fly at all. Then, they have to get back to Ottawa next week. Never ever again. This kind of thing is not unusual for Flair. What a STUPID way to even consider running a business. Flair could ruin their holiday to the mountains.
Flying from Toronto to Edmonton this August, tbh I did get a bit scared reading reviews but honestly its an experience! Will let know how well it goes!!

What I don't see mentioned is that Flair makes it impossibly annoying to change your flights; it's less expensive to cancel than to change, even if one pays for travelflex (extra 10 dollars designed to allow changes). It is honestly crazy that paying extra doesn't get you anything.
Can you elaborate on this? I was pondering paying the extra $10 for flexible changes.
Glad to see Flair gaining ground and adding more planes to their fleet. Is there anyone who doesn't think Canada needs more airline competition? As for seats not reclining, I don't find that problematic. In fact, I kind of welcome that, actually. I've always felt sensitive to those folks seated behind me/us, and I've rarely fully reclined my seat into someone else's space. Most travelers don't realize that even adjusting your seat by one inch feels pretty comfortable by easing up some tension on your back. And honestly, I've always been kind of amazed when someone in front of me fully reclines their seat into my space. Seems kind of rude. This was a decent, fair review.

I wouldn't fly with Flair Airlines again after they issue me a voucher that doesn't
let me book my flight. Customer service doesn't even know how to resolve this issue. I have to wait for the escalation department which after 24 hours hasn't got back to me.
Guess what….my brother and wife are still in the Ottawa airport and just found out their flight has been further delayed till…wait for it, 11:00pm! FA said they will definitely fly then, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s simply cancelled.
NEVER, NEVER even consider flying with them. I never will and as you can well imagine my brother and sister-in-law’s NEVER will either.
They were booked on “No Care Flare” Ottawa to Edmonton @ 9:15 AM.

Ottawa - Halifax round trip.
OK only an hour and a half Flair flight but here is our short review.
Timing ? Both flights to and from were on time, actually left Ottawa 5 minutes early and when arriving back in Ottawa the following week it was 15 minutes early, these 737's can zip lol.
Check in was easy as we checked in through our phones the day before. No long line, actually, no line. All Flair staff were cordial and helpful.
We each had a checked in bag, I had a computer bag, my wife had her purse and a souvenir paper bag from Halifax airport,..no questions or problems, as long as it fits under the seat.
Seating was I'd say average. I did pay $17 for each of our 3rd row seats but of course, you don't need to.
There was no food or drink available as it was explained to me, until Covid subsides, there won't be any, so bring your own snack if you need one.
Price all in ?? Just over 1/2 of what Westjet and Air Canada were asking for the same flights.
I will most definitely fly Flair again.

Ooopps…I was wrong. Their 9:15AM flight has actually been scheduled to 11:55PM….if it actually flies at all!
What kind of stupid management goes to such lengths to make sure clients NEVER fly with them ever again…AND make sure everyone who will listen to them know it. Can’t imagine being stuck at a winter holiday airport. This horror story is NOT unusual with No Care Air!

Seat selection is not an option anymore on most of the airlines nowadays, you have to pay for your selection ahead of time
at the time of this video, it was cheaper to pay for your seat on line that it was to pay at the kiosk
At least you got on your flight. They delayed mine the night before for an hour and that was fine but then got to airport just before 10am for my flight at 1225 now going to mtl so delayed again 1 hour then delayed 2nd time then announcement the workers had no update then 2 min later same woman comes on speaker tells us all that estimated departure will be 5pm(3hours later) now before every delay they sent text to get to the gate we are about to board. We went and ate then ran into someone from our flight who then advised us he had rebooked wirh another airline we thought that he just rebooked but turns out after the whole day waiting only to head home and the woman turns and says oh they rebooked you check your email which they rebooked for the following sunday 9 days later and then calling cust service was just a lady repeating the same snetence over and over
Fly Imelda Marcos Airways next time.

First experience with Flair was a nightmare. They changed the flight times for both there and back more times than we've had with our past 20yrs of flying combined. HORRIBLE!! Will never ever use them again. I fly Spirit all the time... but will never fly Flair again. Glad others have had a good experience.

They cancel without any notifications. I found it later and ended up paying 1000 dollar more booking another one. Totally unreliable shit. Soon going to bankrupt with this customer service.
Flair is a joke. Hidden fees, delayed flights 100% of the time I've flown with them. Worst airline ever.

Flair has a lot of fees. However they're on the website and quite transparent.
The bad news is many people don't bother to read the conditions hence the frustrations and disappointment.
Most concerning, however, is Flair's on-time record:
only 21% of flights leaving and arriving on time !
maybe these ppl are paid but flair has one of the worst reviews ever on the web; too bad that i am read the reviews after they cancelled my first flight with them.

Flair Airlines is a joke, no customer service, can't make any sense of their flight times via their web site, would like to book a flight, but no one to answer any question, just a Bot on their so called live chat, trying to run an airline with no people in their office
"The stewardess lady" Really? If you're going to to an analysis of an airline, you should be more educated with airline terminology. 1. The word 'Stewardess' hasn't been used since the late 1990's, as it is sexist, and derogatory. Flight Attendant or Cabin Crew are now the preferred term. 2. The girl who takes your luggage and puts it on the belt is not a Stewardess, (or Flight Attendant or Cabin Crew Member. Those are the people who fly in the airplane). The person who takes your luggage is a CSR, Customer Service Rep. Also, fyi, chances are pretty good that the person who takes your luggage and checks you in do not even work for the airline. They are a subcontracted company that offers check in services for a number of different airlines. So Flair cannot be held responsible for their actions.
