I lived really close to here, in the Mofang apartments down Hedong road! I only came back to the U.S. because of covid. Thought I would be back in just a few weeks or months... but I hope to go back soon! Anyway, watching this was surreal. I used to go to WLCS all the time!
The cargo boat that passes the waterway looks very old and not painted. I saw these ugly boats in Shanghai's Huangpu river near the Bund also, it's a shore to he eyes, isn't their permit for operation regulated by the government?
to some people those old giant river barges may be an eye sore.. but to me it has character.. i'm fascinated by very old relic.. but ''honestly'' going back to the subject of the walk.. this tells me all first tier Chinese cities has now surpassed most big famous European cities i know.. in the USA there would be homeless people with their grubby tents in the park.. i'm amazed to see Hangzhou is both traditional and highly develop and modern at the same time.. i'm beyond impressed..
Very old ship? The annual income of these ship owners is 300,000 to 500,000 US dollars. Another point is that China's regulatory requirements for inland ships are not as high as those of the European Union and North America.
