    I think dodge should start working on a DCT for the hellcats

    • @avrggamer69
      @avrggamer69 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @Dean Toma I never said it wasn't reliable but a DCT would put it on a level no production drag car has ever been

    • @99thpeanut59
      @99thpeanut59 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dual clutch transmissions are shitty why do you think they’re purposely avoiding them?? This auto shifts plenty fast and actually can hold up for a hundred or two thousand miles unlike a dual clutch.

    • @avrggamer69
      @avrggamer69 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@99thpeanut59 I mean if a hand full of supercars use a DCT Im pretty sure they are pretty reliable but I'm happy with the 8speed auto in the hellcats but I'm just saying I want to see something a little different you feel me

    • @99thpeanut59
      @99thpeanut59 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dean Toma preach. That’s why so many cars hopped onto the DCT bandwagon a few years ago but then quickly left it because they’re shitty transmissions for daily driving use.

    • @99thpeanut59
      @99thpeanut59 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Darrell Willis are you mad? You literally just contradicted yourself. Yes, supercars have DCT’s. I just said that. DCT’s are only available in supercars because they’re not reliable at all. I’m not sure if you’re aware but, supercars in general see about a 25th of the amount of miles a car does. That’s why they put DCT’s in there. They’re a tiny bit faster but supercars, in theory, never get the mileage to start having transmission issues. Annnd sadly, even then, many do- a lot.
      Here’s the thing. The only difference an 8 speed DCT will have compared to the ZF is an unrecognizable increase in shift speed and fuckin, pure destruction to any reliability there is to the challenger nameplate.

    2:04 - The blacked out 'DODGE' in the taillights is a slick touch.
    I'm convinced the Redeye has different springs than the widebody cats and scats. Sits a bit lower.

    Thank you Dodge for not feeling pressured into making these tiny, gutless "fuel efficent" lightweight cars. Hate it or love it, Americans like muscle cars huge, fast & loud as they always were and always should be. 🙏 Please break the internet and make the next gen cars even bigger like the old days where we don't even need plastic "widebody" fenders cookie cut and slapped on like an after thought. Tub these cars out and watch them sell like hotcakes!

    I've been driving a regular Charger for the last few days as a rental since my 2019 Abarth 500 is in the shop. It's like trying to fly the space shuttle, it is massive and you won't feel a thing. After this experience I have no idea why anyone would buy a Redeye, it's the same car with a gazillion horse power. The steering is vague, the handling is awful, you can't feel the road, and it weighs 2.5 tons! This is a high speed minivan made to sell a number. It is not a drivers car and I can't wait to get out of it. No wonder they only make it in an automatic.

    • @johnnykilroy9399
      @johnnykilroy9399 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      A regular charger doesn’t have the same suspension or diff as a hellcat or scat pack so you can’t compare a v6 Charger to a high performance hemi Charger. They are vastly different and drive nothing alike regardless of the weight

    • @bigbtv3773
      @bigbtv3773 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      V6 Chargers Are Not the same as the scat packs or hellcats it’s basically a whole different car.

    • @MarspeedCars
      @MarspeedCars  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yeah I will say that if you upgrade it is a whole different experience. The v6 is super vague for the average daily driver that doesn’t really care. I had a V6 and it just glides over bumps and steers with ease. I then went to a Daytona with SRT steering and all that and the difference was wild, you felt everything, so much better to drive, etc. That’s also what the scat packs and hellcats are like, very different road feel with steering and suspension, plus so much fun with all that extra horsepower.

    • @ChrisRogersTheAngryChef
      @ChrisRogersTheAngryChef 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@johnnykilroy9399 It doesn't matter, they both weigh 5,000 pounds. I don't know of a single, successful race car that weighs that much, and there is a reason for that. Hell, there isn't even a manual option anywhere in the line up, it just isn't a drivers car no matter how you slice it. Go do a track day in any Charger you like, now do 5 hot laps in a row and tell me what happens- you will have no brakes, and no tires by the 4th lap.

    • @johnnykilroy9399
      @johnnykilroy9399 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Chris Rogers The car is 4300 lbs and ive done track day and a drag strip day. It shines the most at the strip with street tires it ran 12.2 @ 117 mph in the 1/4 7.8 in the 1/8 at 89 mph and it was 98 degrees that day. With a tire my 392 would be a 11 sec car. At track day I still kept up and beat all the turner cars that was there and my brakes still worked. Yes it’s heavy but it’s highly capable I drive one everyday. I have even been over 175 mph in it as well. Your opinion is coming off a V6 so you can’t give a fair or even an educated opinion.

    Powerful, yes. But NOT the “quickest production sedan” for 0-60, not even in the 1/4 mile.
    Tesla Model S does those in 2.5 and 10.5 (on all-season tires, not even a burnout is needed!)
    Yeah, yeah, the HC has noise and all that, but your neighbors don’t wanna hear it. Many subjective items to prefer either way. Choose the HC if that’s your preference, and many of my track buddies are enjoying theirs.
    But let’s try to keep the data straight.
