- The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2003 was celebrated in Copenhaguen, Denmark, on Saturday 15th November 2003. The winner song was "Ti si moja prva ljubav" sung by Dino Jelusic from Croatia.

Hey guys, ''the winner'' here. I haven't seen this video in the past 15 years. I shed a little tear watching all of this again, watching all of the support from all of the people that competed at that year's JESC, in a different music era than today, while we were still kids and when everything looked so easy. The coolest part about Dino (the kid from Croatia) is that he wrote the song himself and the lyrics are amazing
1 month after I was born this was held. I’m Danish raised and lives in Denmark but I’m born in Brisbane, Australia. Sometimes one of my sisters the nice one said that I’m lucky I’m born in Australia and not Denmark at that Time. I remember I watched this dvd on Repeat in Australia every christmas
I am from Croatia, and I am so proud that we won first Junior Eurovison Song Contest. Also I am very sad that we are not on this competition from 2006 (except 2014). We have so talented children and I really hope that we will compete again.

There were two types of performers at the very first JESC: those who sang and those who knew how to deliver.
People thought the JESC would be 'kid stuff' until Dino stepped up and sent the message 'this ain't kids stuff!'
Kind of sad Jesc doesn't have that reputation.

Especialy ESC make shit since 2010 (noone was such good as Dima Bilan, Alexander Rybak and Lordi), when JESC make song which smashed Bilan (Roksana Węgiel in 2018)

Same here. The Belgian song is still a classic in Belgium for everyone who was there to witness it :) the band did a reunion this year which was sold out pretty much immediately.

Apparently I'm the only one who realized that Junior Eurovision from 2003 to 2006 are the same and are in a statistic of 4. I'll make a video explaining that
From 2001, when it was decided that CHILDREN
could not participate in Eurovision. It was simply too fussy or difficult when children had to act on an equal footing with adults. There, the jury decided to exclude children.
The age limit was set at 16 years.
Then it was that Denmark's radio came up with Junior Eurovision. So that's the 2 years it took to make the whole event work. In 2005, Denmark stopped participating. Today, Denmark still holds an MGP where the show is for children and made for children.

Why am I watching this in January 2021?? I was just talking to my brother about how we knew (back then) a song in croatian (because of the kid who won) not knowing a single word of croatian as we are Spanish. I was 13 back then and I remember playing Dino’s song again and again and our parents would be like wtf? Hahaha. Childhood memories

1) El candidato del pais anfitrion es una chica rubia
2) uno de los jelusicks aparece en ese festival es decir, dino y lorena

A little trivia, the backing dancer for Latvia with the long dark hair (the one with the backpack that was slipping off) would go on to compete in the JESC in his own right for Latvia the following year (Martins Talbergs)
I can't believe this is the first Junior Eurovision ever broadcast! And for the Balkan country to win it :) Although, I don't like the song that represented Croatia:/ But I'm still glad that they won :)

I think volhas keyboardist wrote tantsuy and I think another girl wrote ti me me poznavas but besides that, I believe they all wrote the songs by themselves (I'm not 100% sure)

@@thesnesgeek yea, Denmark left JESC because it was supposed to be a fun contest, but it got so serious that the kids were being pulled out of school to do this as their job at 11 years old and that Wasn’t the intention with it at all. I think that’s why Norway left and maybe Sweden idk
