I purchased copies of both The Mad Art Of Caricature (directly from Tom Richmond's website) and How To Draw Caricatures (from Amazon) not too long ago!
Hello James I agree , I don't like to waste money so I try to get as good material as possible . I'm happy to tell you that I already chose the Lenn Redman and Tom Richmond excellent. The other one I think is good is Face Off by Harry Hamernik . Thank you so much for sharing these .
JTA.. great book lesson, I'll get those. I wish you did more on patron, for on going lessons and a way to show my support. I'll look into and look forward to seeing your course. Looking forward to experimenting with your brush pen choices. Is your course going to be a PDF for life time access. Thank you 😎
I bought tom richmond's book and asked him if he knew of resources instructing me how to draw (even my simple shapes are garbage), he replied back with a link to 'how to draw a stick figure' which was pretty funny. James! if you create a drawing resource in which you draw eyes, ears, noses, etc... by following arrows and varying the pressure to create the desired effect; you will be a millionaire (i'll 100% buy it) I want to practice drawing features the way people learn to write Hiragana or chinese symbols. developing the muscle memory then building from there. would you consider this? (the resource would be a series of A4 party caricatures that you learn to draw through rote tracing of the features)
That’s a funny story about Tom Richmond lol. Yes, I’m doing a video course right now about how to draw caricatures live at parties. It’s going to be 12 lessons, including lessons on how I draw each feature of the face, eyes, nose, mouth, etc. Plus they’ll be some extra lessons on how to exaggerator and the way I set up my equipment. Please, use the link in the description to sign up for my email list and I’ll let you know when the course is ready. So far I have five lessons ready and I’ll continue working on it until I have the cord 12 lessons completed. Thank you!
@@jamesthomas1123 will do, would you consider making 'follow the arrows' style nose/ear/mouth/eye drawing exercises that can be printed off and practiced on?
