CARTUBI - URSUS

Cartubi welcomed with honor and satisfaction the challenge of the restoration and maintenance of the URSUS, the floating crane pontoon, the symbol of the Trieste's shipbuilding vocation.
Designed, built, and put into operation around the time of the First World War, it played a key role from the 1930s onwards in the most complex and challenging operations that took place in the shipyards of Trieste. Today, it is a cultural heritage asset whose preservation and enhancement are at the centre of an interesting debate in the city, especially regarding its future location.
Cartubi ha accolto con onore e soddisfazione la sfida del restauro e della manutenzione dell'URSUS, il pontone-gru simbolo della vocazione cantieristica triestina.
Progettato, costruito e messo in esercizio intorno al periodo della Prima Guerra Mondiale, ebbe un ruolo chiave dagli anni '30 in poi nelle operazioni più complesse e impegnative che si svolgevano nei cantieri navali di Trieste. Oggi è un bene culturale la cui conservazione e valorizzazione sono al centro di un interessante dibattito in città, soprattutto per quanto riguarda la sua futura collocazione.
