How much of study he must have done on GNB , imitated him 100./. Proof of pudding in the audience getting carried away. The whole prog of one raga demo is truly very educative and inspirational. Very well presented by Dr S . Parasuram

Yesterday i attended sir programme organised by Kalasagar, i was the sukhi to listen to him.
Greatest kambodhi can be played on flute..seems like the raga is made for the flute. If you hear mahalingams kambodhi, that is the end state of everything -pinnacle of all music. Nothing else can come even close.
Having said that, MMI parimalarangapathe, maa janaki, GNB and ariyakudi subramanyaya namaste are masterpieces in their own right
Dr Sriram says that kambodhi is the Commander in the Kingdom of Ragas. His lecdum shows that he is the Commander of raga kambodhi. He sings it so well. Well done Sir. Keep it up.
This man is a rare gem.
Kamboji is one of my most fav ragas. And Sriram Parasuram is one of my most admired vidwan on the lecdem circuit. Tanks to Paalam for connecting both!
Before I could finish, my comment went out. I rate as number 1 Bala Murali’s raga aalapana of this Raga in AIR for a song Chintaroopa Naazhi. I heard it in 80s. Then Nedunoori alapana makes me think that I can’t rank. KVNs is not anything lessor. The Othuvar at Kapaleeswar temple sings so soulfully on Prathosham evening. Sometimes, I think I sung it well when I am singing only for my soul or for my grandson as a lullaby. The condition is that it should not be done as a performance before others where the “I” will exist. A great music should not have a Witness.

A great Lecture Demo. Dr. Sriram has maintained such a brisk pace to his lecture befitting the Raga he has taken as his subject. He did a good amount of research on the historic aspect of Kamboji’s evolution for over many centuries. My top favourite Raga. I do not know how to rank the rendition of this raga by various greats. As a child, I listened to my mother and Madurai Mani Iyer & Ariyakudi. Then N.C Vasanthakokilam. I rated as number one aalapana by Balamurali
