I played the game for an hour, and refunded it. Absolutely not worth it. It's boring, and another case of the "Huge world" having little to nothing to do in it but side quests, if you can even call them that. Too little zombies, no immersion to draw you to keep playing. You wanna play Dead Island? Pay for both of the originals. Much more likable charactersm, no dumb "card" system, and more fun combat/weapon mods. Much better.
He's streaming on Twitch which allows people to subscribe to users for money and it removes ads. Essentially, any time he says "Thanks for the X" someone is donating money to him.
I’m ngl I wanted this game to end when it did I’m sorry it was kind of unbearable at the end 😭 I was so underleveled and the constant “kill em all” parts made me so pissed. Still beat it tho
Waiting ten years for this ? Wasn’t the best yet not the worst, although it was somewhat underwhelming. At least the first story was basic and easy to understand. This ? It’s convoluted and short . The two ad ons didn’t do fuck all to add to the story . Hoping something else comes up soon to rectify this
I accepted the story and writing as trash from the first hour in the game going from trying way too hard with cringey pop culture references with all the streaming and zoomer talk which even by the time this game released was at least 3 years out of date..... Like watching a character or bunch of characters that are made to be your stereotypical young content creators or using certain words and knowing no one uses those words or speaks like that anymore really makes you feel incredibly awkward as a player. You feel like you are in a time machine playing an old game even when the game was brand new. I think pop culture writing in video games is the worst writing you could ever do. What is your best case scenario? You get the game out fast enough that the references are still relevant for a couple months? The realistic scenario like this game is you write these lines get them voice acted then work on releasing the game but because it takes years the writing is already out of date so it just looks stupid. And then adding to that the older the game gets the worse it will always get. When you write like this you just put an instant time cap on how long your game could hold up before getting worse and worse from being out dated. It's not the same as graphics because you can still appreciate a story even if it looks dated. You can't appreciate a game if it looks good but the story is just full of... who spoke like that what does that even mean why was this meant to be funny or interesting. Ironically I think gta 6 is going to be one of these cases too. With how much the first trailer pushed the current trend of everything being shot through streaming or someone making an IG video that game is going to become dated so fast. Can only hope that type of writing is pushed in side missions and has nothing to do with the majority of the game. I will say for dead island 2 apart from the worst ending I have seen in more than I can remember and a story that all the way through was far below average that it clearly had an identity crisis which doesn't surprise me as it went through multiple studios. You see them putting all these woke political agendas in the game trying to be all inclusive but then you see in other parts of the game where they make fun and insult those exact same things. I don't think I have ever seen a more clear cut case of a game that blatantly went through multiple studios writing different parts for the game which had complete opposite views lol. With seeing that I can't be surprised at all by the story or the ending. I mean the game looked nice over all there was good zombie variation but absolutely no weapon variation at all. Gore is great which is critical for a zombie game but the gameplay was meh. The areas to explore was nothing. Tiny selectable map chunks instead of having any decent sized areas. Seriously dead island 1 11 years before this had a map 5x the size what are you doing. Most of the buildings are classic perm locked doors you can look but cant go inside because nothing exists in there. Something I can excuse in massive open world games but not in games that have tiny map zones. If you go tiny make every single building in that area explorable, thats the bare minimum. Also absolute trash tier loot and locking system. You constantly come across safe and lockboxes that you can't open they need a key that you always will only get after you already went to that location so unless you purposely back tracked to every single place you ever went after getting the key from killing the named zombie you will never open it. Then again why bother because again for a looter shooter you would just be getting the exact same weapons over and over and over again until you get a "unique" weapon which in reality is still just the same weapon it just has 1 perk already built into the weapon. You could just insert any blueprints into the base gun and create the exact same "unique" gun at any point lol. This game was just flat out bad. I would give it 3/10 max and that is only for it having decent performance on launch which is rare these days and they did zombies right with the gore and enough visuals for common zombies that you didn't feel like you were constantly killing the same 4 zombies like most games. Still would of been better if this game never released it was that bad and would recommend people never buy this unless it's on a 90% sale.
Wtf, man? You didn’t have to do “Days Gone” like that. Bought that sucker last year for like seven bucks, and while it’s not one of my favorites, I thought it was alright.
A lot of people seem to hate days gone and I honestly don’t get it. Maybe people who played on launch had a bad experience or something? I didn’t play it until like a year after it came out but I enjoyed it a lot I thought it was a solid like 7.5 out of 10
I hated the ending. I was planning on going around and completing side quests, but the ending was so lame, I decided not to waste my time. IMHO I never liked Sam B and why they brought him back is beyond me. Hell I would have killed him off instead of saving him. If I was going to bring one of the old people back it would have been Morgan from Riptide. My only guess is it's more of a lecture from the PC crowd. I don't play games to be lectured on PC topics. I don't give a F about what a bunch of eggheads in LA think about social issues and sure as hell don't need them worming into their games their liberal ideas.
The story is okay at least. Ending could have been better in my opinion. But gameplay is alot of fun. When i start over on my second play through im just gonna dick around alot.
I Agree with the disappointing ending but judging from you reaction this is just not your kind of game. You just skipped the whole immersion Zompocalypse part...meh

Looks like a really cheap way of saying "tune in for the last game in a couple of years to see how it ends".
We almost forgot about this mess of a game, why would we even care for another sequel? IF THERE WILL BE A 3RD ONE THAT IS....
I think this ending was chosen to make room for the future DLCs they have upcoming.
And that’s a huge problem, they gave us 3/4 of the actual story and now we might have to pay to get the actual ending. Charlie is right in saying that we didn’t do anything in the story, from beginning to end, the only difference is that we evolved and now we know Tisha is the cure, that’s pretty much it.
@@BigDaddyTony24Dude, the game went through a real hell just to be developed, the state it is in for what happened is impressive, you already saved Emma and Sam, I don't see anything wrong with saving Trisha being left for a DLC, the main objective was to save Emma in a helicopter and you achieved it.
At least we can finally put to bed the Dead Rising vs Dead Island debate, this game was almost on the level of 4.
Nah dead rising will always be on top even if everyone loved di2
the worst ending possible like I just finished it and opened youtube to see if there's is multiple ending
by far in story perspective and some other stuff like the ultimate ability I prefer playing Dead Island riptide
"it's not bad" he continues to say in the face of getting no enjoyment out of it. It's not standard or generic, it's trash. You can just say it.
This game isn't trash. People are so braindead and they think something is either a masterpiece or it is garbage. It is a fine game ti have some fun and kill zombies. What the fuck did you expect?
I enjoyed it
Their I said it
So what? To chat erupt in fury and annoying him even more...? Nowadays being a streamer you cant dislike their favourite game or else...
Charlie triggered a lot of dead island fans here lol
I don't care I need a zombie survival game to scratch an itch. Day Z is just bad ngl.
theres always dead rising 1 and 2 lol
@mothermushroom_ : I meant something new, I already played all the Dead Rising games. Games I wanna play is like The Mist I think it's called I can't remember, it's a PC game where there's an apocalypse and there's zombie vampire basically, if I remember correctly been awhile since I've seen a gameplay.
@@mothermushroom_ Dead Rising titles are a joke compared with this game, try harder to not struggle with simple tasks next time.🤣
So we can all agree Dead Island and DI Riptide are the only good games of the franchise
But hey, gore and no motion blur is a plus
this game beat those in terms of gameplay and of course graphics and gore. Which I think are the most important parts of a DI game. The story was always goofy and didnt really matter
This game is a good game too.
I like Dead Island 2 more than Riptide. I didn't much like Riptide.
No I loved dead island 2 more than 1, there I said it I think every game in the dead island franchise is a hit, can't say anything about riptide cuz I never played it though
So now we wait ANOTHER 9 years for another disappointing sequel? The dlc sure as hell-A isnt going to expand on the ending.
Sure didn’t lol
The story on this game imo just makes no sense
2:56:15
3:03:38 Not to mention greedy.
Cant be THAT bad
Damn, it’s bad

It's not bad.
It's fuckin awful.
Loved the game, The ending was garbage.
Honestly this game made me want to play the first one
he doing a death run
Should I get dead island 2? I liked dead island 1 a lot, especially with friends. Heard the gameplay was good but the writing is shit. Any other opinions?
Not right now I would probably wait until it goes down in price
Wait for a sale, the game is fun though
no
Wait for a sale, otherwise this is a perfectly serviceable zombie game
@CNFoxxy hence why i said perfectly serviceable, if you went into this game expecting any level of coherent writing you probably also buy Rolex watches from street vendors.
Hit zombie feel good
thats all i really wanted so im satisfied but paying full price for this is a mistake
Are you serious? That’s the end? They just threw everything from dead island 1 out the window. And now I gotta wait another 10 years to find out why Sam B was turning into a zombie, and what Numen had to do with a tribe on an island (referencing dead island 1)
so theyre planning on selling the tisha storyline as a DLC im guessing.
Christ seeing him die so much to the last guy was rough, maybe do some side quest I smashed this dude easily on my playthrough I understand it’s boring but I’m trying to get my moneys worth
Loved Dead Island & Riptide.
Might pick this up when it is for sale for 10$ which is probably never.
Honestly with the critics scoring it the way they have, it'll be on sale soon
Give it a year, probably have updates and free content to make up for what was released
I played it and it’s really not that bad of a game, you just gotta understand what it is. It’s a fun zombie killing game, if you’re looking for a compelling story you’re not gonna get it but it’s fun
Expect a 25$ sale to come within the next month at Gamestop
@@thekidwhogrows dollar sign on the other side genius
To be fair I feel like he sped through the game a little too quick I was like lvl 24 at the same point where he was lvl 18
That wasn't even an ending
Deep Silver is really bad at telling a good story
Deep silver is the publisher. Not developer.🙄
Think I saw a slight jump from charlie after the jumpscare at around m8nute 18 😂
everytime they say "fecking" I want to hurl.
Why is everything watered down and shit
The call of duty ghosts treatment: cliffhanger ending to lead to a sequel or dlc and then nothing ever come out and that’s it.
so glad i didt buy it
I'm just looking forward to the next entrée from the king of the undead resident evil
Same because all these other games ain’t it, yeah the gameplay is fun & the gore is awesome but everything else about this game fell flat.
Hyped for RE9 or RE5 Remake
Hyped for both I loved Re5 and I think a remake would be interesting and Re9 will likely be next tho but I'm kinda hoping for code Veronica remake honestly Capcom should do them all because you can't have to much resident evil
@@Sekiryuutei96 Code Veronica was my favorite RE game growing up, definitely hope they remake it
@@Sekiryuutei96 Holy shit imagine a remade Resident evil 5 given the same love as 2 or 4(not 3, Nemesis remake was garbage). Wesker give me some Wesker.
While the story is horrible, I’ve liked the game so much that I’ve got a platinum on it. I don’t have that commitment to many games.
Same. I'm going to be finishing side quests and fully exploring everything before trying to get the perfect setup for my character. Which Slayer did you use? I used Bruno
They're just going to do a DLC again like they did with the other games.
But how much more can they do? Like are they going to make a new map or have us play through the same areas again?
As expected.
They really thought people would be excited for a sequel with writing like this? YIKES 😬
Well the game has been doing pretty well so...
If you are buying a zombie gore arcade game like this for good writing you are the idiot here
I think people who knew what Dead Island was all about won't care about writing. They're here for the gameplay. And I'm sold on the gameplay.
youre acting like the original had good writing
@@thedarkapex5327 sales have absolutely nothing to do with the actual quality of the game, ton of half ass ports sell millions of copies, doesnt make it good
Hey so this game has so many zombies now I think they took your advice, as somebody who didn’t play it on release I get bent over constantly by zombies. They over spawn them now if you want me to be honest. You can run across 3 butchers in one area. It’s Anal juice. As someone who was a dead island lover it definitely was a disappointment as far as the story goes. You are a legend in the TH-cam community, I wish to achieve even a pubic hair of your success
Fr I was so fucking confused on the ending like this is it?
He said there are no zombies in this game. He must be joking haha. If you fight your way through places instead of running past them, they spawn a lot. I found there to be many more in this game than the original.
Charlie tends to rush through most games. Idk if that’s just always the way he’s played stuff and he just likes to see how fast he can beat a game but anytime I’ve seen him play something single player he pretty much misses a lot cus he just blows through it quickly. Of course he can play the way he wants I just feel like there’s a lot of single player games where the experience is kinda ruined if you don’t take your time and try to experience everything.
@theonesignal 😂😂😂😂😂 clown the gameplay is absolutely terrible look at 4:57, and countless other examples of braindead ai. There is no difficulty or fun to be had, and that was the dumbest “fight” I’ve ever seen in a game lmfao
@theonesignal1 god of wars, red dead, Doom Horizon Star Wars Fallen Orders, Control Seikero Harry Potter Ghost of Tsushima off top of my head that are all better than this
@theonesignal1 Days Gone better
@@anthonykuykendall4207yeah but there not technically zombies so it doesn't count
Much better.
what does it mean when charlie at random times says resub, prime, tier 1... what is he talking about?
He's streaming on Twitch which allows people to subscribe to users for money and it removes ads. Essentially, any time he says "Thanks for the X" someone is donating money to him.
@@RagingCookie127 ohhhh okay thats what i figured. thank you!
I’m ngl I wanted this game to end when it did I’m sorry it was kind of unbearable at the end 😭 I was so underleveled and the constant “kill em all” parts made me so pissed. Still beat it tho
why does this look worse than the first dead island
It doesn't.
because it is, you can’t even drive cars in this one
I agree, The ending was so rushed and pathetic. Also the low hp enemies at the end was kinda a slap in the face.
They need to hurry with a dlc cuz the story was shit
Waiting ten years for this ? Wasn’t the best yet not the worst, although it was somewhat underwhelming. At least the first story was basic and easy to understand. This ? It’s convoluted and short . The two ad ons didn’t do fuck all to add to the story . Hoping something else comes up soon to rectify this
Ye and how long did we whait for this game
Loved the game but this ending is ass 😕
Damn. That was cringe
I didn’t play it until like a year after it came out but I enjoyed it a lot I thought it was a solid like 7.5 out of 10
If you want to farm zombies go to the pier they spawn back to back
I hated the ending. I don't give a F about what a bunch of eggheads in LA think about social issues and sure as hell don't need them worming into their games their liberal ideas.
the credits are longer than the final boss & ending
said it before and saying it again
10 years delayed and this was the best they came up with?
Sell the company asap
You know it wasn't in development for 10yrs? It was on and off with multiple studios until dambuster took over
It’s going to be dlc so they can squeeze even more of your cash out of you
I wasn’t mad about the ending. I was mad about how the DLC wasn’t a continuation of the story. But I was a little mad about the ending tbh
I think it’s cause they gonna add dlcs it ended this way
The story is okay at least. Ending could have been better in my opinion. But gameplay is alot of fun. When i start over on my second play through im just gonna dick around alot.
I Agree with the disappointing ending but judging from you reaction this is just not your kind of game.
You just skipped the whole immersion Zompocalypse part...meh
😅
Patton sounds like Joe Biden
Common man!
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thinks this; the guy sounds more and more like Joe as the game progresses
bad take
The game is just a nothing burger.
This game was such trashhhhhh. The biggest disappointment when comparing to its older instalments.
Just finished the game and was shocked to see that this was the way they decided to end the game. Not even a dlc can fix this nonsense
The writing is cheesy and more Cornish than a hen, but you def made the game a worse/more difficult experience than it is. Play the game better and to the full experience.
This game is terrible…11 years lol,So shallow and a bad story with no open world that it should be on next gen…
I think the level design is great. The other 2 games werent open world either its the style of game. Not everything needs to be open world and the same
