You might think that the idea of a samurai using a gun is just some Yakuza silliness and isn't intended to be historically-accurate. You would be wrong.
I really like how they recreated the feel of the old yakuza games. I love how smooth DE is, but having them recreate the feel of games like Y5 and Y0 is just really nice.

The only thing that always bothered me in the yakuza series is the high random encounter rate. Sometimes I would just like to enjoy the scenery without fights.
I feel like those skill cards could've been placed in a better area or at least hold down a trigger to bring them up on an alt menu, like how KH and FF games have been doing it.
Can't wait to play this. And here I thought judgement /lost Judgemet were the last traditional Yakuza games (meaning not turn based like 7). Such a refreshing feeling to have a total diff style of fighting, era and city

yeah really hope there'll be settings to change the size of that as well as maybe turn off the damage numbers, i understood having the damage numbers in 7 since it was turn based but it feels unnecessary here

Ok, to see how the combat works, just look up a Yakuza Ishin no damage boss run video. Looks way better than this. I guess this was more to showcase how the game looks and newly introduced characters. Or it was 'bring your little nephew to work day', and they recorded his gameplay🤣

For people that dont know this is basically a game from 2014 that never came out outside from japan and china. That explains why it doesnt look like a triple A modern game despite some enhanching like changing characters or new attacks, Im still hyped to play this game in a samurai setting.
I would of never thought I find the Ishin series going global. I remember I tried finding it back then to import. Like on play-asia or something. Now I can get it as a remake with a new engine! From the original version of the gameplay, you bet Majima's ancestor coming too hahah.
Truly some game journalist gameplay right here, then he went on to complain about the aiming, i mean it's literally a kamehameha in feudal japan the least you could do is aim it in their general direction, can't expect it to track enemies for you.
I’m so glad that this is the type of gameplay of this. I loved all yakuza games except for 7 because I don’t like turned based combat. My personal favorite yakuza game was yakuza 4..

Luckily due to fan demand, the success of Ghost of Tsushima and wanting to try out the Unreal Engine they decided to remake the game from the ground up and is not a remaster.

So grateful to be getting this in the west plus they're adding the crazy ability cards , weapon upgrades, so excited. Let's just hope segas head doesn't get too big about the western Yakuza blowup. that could spell disaster later on down the line.

The original Ishin released before Yakuza 0, using the exact same engine, they probably made it play like that to stay faithful
