@consumertechwarehouse What I hate is, if you get heavily tuned drivers, I want a natural sound. Audeze is doing a great job, for example. Beyerdynamic loves high frequency, but this is "OK" i can go with it, but they should lower the high frequency a bit.
I have an immediate need for gaming headphones and I can't wait to see if anybody is coming out with new tech in 2025 that might beat the Maxwell. So I'm getting them tomorrow.
04:20 - what you did there is exactly the good way to break those planar drivers :( Anyway, you mentioned guitar... do you actually play your guitar using the MAxwell? This would be my use case. Gaming and guitar playing (in living room). If you do, what's your setup?
I don’t. I don’t like using headphones with guitar. The cables get in the way and the output on the headphone jack is low on my amp. I wish there was a good wireless system for guitars and connecting to amps though.
@consumertechwarehouse I am not sure I understood which wireless connection do you wish for... Guitar to amp, there is a bunch of wireless adapters. I personally use Lekato ws 80. It's perfect 👌 As for headphones, you can use them via computer. I tried this with my gaming headset. I use Pod Go plugged into my PC and from it i can play on whatever I want. In this case I used my gaming headset. Sound is decent but there is a bit of latency. This is why I asked if you tried so, hoping that maxwell would have no latency. For me this would be a perfect wireless setup. Lastly, there are dedicated wireless headphones for guitar - Boss waza air.
@ getting mine tomorrow so will update but alot of the reviews mention using it as you charge and not having problems with that ? Edit: yeah i use it plugged in and charging, ive only had to charge it once or twice (not left it charging tbh)
I've had mine since about Q2 2024. In terms of sound, I find them excellent for my gaming purposes, and have had no complaints on that front. However, after long terms use problems have developed, for me. Mine did break after about 8 or 9 months, and were replaced without fuss by the single supplier in my country (not US). Second pair, so far so good. However, the weight has become an issue. It was not a problem initially, but after daily use, all day, I started developing headaches. At first, my Dr thought it was trigeminal neuralgia, after medication, which didn't quite work, and further discussion, we felt the weight and clamp force was creating compression on my skull, which after the long term use was creating headache. After switching to my lighter PS Elite Pulse (also breaking), and using my Bose Ultra Open earbuds, the headaches have disappeared. As I mainly play RPGs and not competitive shooters, I don't need that higher level of fidelity.
We are so used to crappy budget headsets that when we jump in higher tier headphones/headsets in same time we are blown away and also we criticize how that one has no bass.. no this or that.. yeah but we forgot we are used to non natural sounds.. super boosted and weird.. It's all in our heads.. if you stick with one pair of headphones.. you get used to it and they become normal to you.. it's normal guys, just don't panic if something is not how you expected right away... 2-3 weeks of usage you will get into it. Btw i ordered my AUdeze Maxwell ( PS version ) 1 month ago... i waiting to arrive. idk why it takes so long.. at some point i though they didn't process my order but yea.. it will arrive next week i hope.
@@kaskalo2 Yes today ( 28 November ), Take this with grain of salt but store employer explained to me that Audeze ship their items i quote her "on tip of the spoon" .. so idk if they just trying to sell me a cheap excuse for huge delay or if is true. So my impression with a headphone is amazing, connected with usb, updated firmware of headphone and dongle through Audeze App for Windows ( you must have it to update firmware ), dongle works out of the box, no need to setup anything.. Default volume on pc through dongle is 50% .. that's "normal" how you used to have 100% with cheap ones.. so 60% is super loud, be aware of this, don't mistake and move slider to 100% on your pc before you play song or something.. you will be deaf.. i am serious .. I know this is maybe stupid things but there is people who never think of small things like this
We see this problem in displays as well. Most users use Rec.709 = sRGB/SDR (Standard Dynamic Range) with a lot of color saturation. This is why many people dislike HDR or say it shouldn't be used on Windows because HDR is not saturated. Or, like the iPhone, the bass is heavily boosted, but not so on Samsung. Sometimes I think my Samsung S22 Ultra speaker has no bass, while Apple's speakers have too much low frequency. It's for a more fun experience, but it's not "real sound," which is why many say Beyerdynamic is not good. Of course, Beyerdynamic doesn't boost the bass but the higher frequencies. In short, the average person knows nothing and consumes fake/tuned settings. Every in-ear wireless speaker will never achieve true sound; all of them are heavily tuned.
So having this headphones for a month, i must say sound is phenomenal.. comfort.. amazing and what i am surprised the most.. i barely can hear anything arround me lol.. Default cushions are nice, very soft and comfy, how long they will last.. we will see... also how long headphones will last.. we will see that too, i saying this because many of them saying they stopped working after a year.. or one side .. I will report here if that happen and write another comment when it will turn 1 year or so.. Weight is ok, not super heavy how some of people are saying.. and battery is phenomenal. Only what pissing me off, sometimes scares ... out of me is that when automaticly turning off if there is no any sound output from pc/phone and woman voice is cranked up so high, in middle of silence ( if you working and you forget you have headphones on ) can really scare you lol.. About microphone, friends told me is good but it's little bit.. morphed.. filtered.. kinda in ai way, not much just little bit.. I still trying to get used to them, because speaking having this headphones on... you need to get into it, because you can't hear anything outside.. and if you not used to speak and to be super silent for your ears.. it's new thing for me.. I know it sounds so weird.. and i can't believe i saying all of this but yeah. For someone who never wanted ( i could just never wanted ) to spend much for headphones and always had some super cheap ones.. i must admit i was wrong. I reccomend everyone to test this headphones at store, really worth it... Dont' trust me just you must try it yourself, there is no other way. If this headphones blew me out with quality i can only imagine how are those in super high end.. I wish you all wonderful 2025 year
You don't unscrew the headband parts, you just pull it off and stick it back on where you want it. I don't even think you can unscrew it. Edit: Nevermind, you can unscrew it. But you definitely don't need to for changing the strap.
As in depth as this review was “Ty” I’m really curious to know if you can dive more into all the mic issues I’m seeing people complain about on almost every thread/review. It is the only thing holding me back. I’m tempted to spend a little extra on something nice and just add a boom mic or something. I don’t know if it’s a discord thing or what but I don’t want to sound like I’m stuck in a barrel.
Easily the best all around gaming headset and headphones overall. Sure if you only play fps there is little bit better but this is still one the best but if you play fps and single player games and music this is a class on its own. The base is amazing for this kind of technology but for me immersion mode have the best base. For the comfort, yes it's heavy but I have these 10 hours straight on my head my neck is all fine. Where I can feel it is the ears after a while then I mean 6-7 hours in.
Try the ROG Delta 2, the sound signature is similar with the Harman 2018 similar to the Maxwell (Maxwell still slightly higher in sound clarity, but not noticeable by most people)... But lighter, and more features.
I really like the Maxwell. The only thing keeping me from loving it is how fatiguing it is on my head. I'm not sure if it's the weight or the clamping force on my head. Most likely a combination of both.
Same but I’m so grateful for how it performs. I recently got it and I play rainbow six siege competitively and its imaging performance is superb. Know when an enemy is approaching whether from far away or close is important to me when searching for a headphone and I was lucky enough to that the Audeze maxwells were exactly what I was looking for!
I personally ordered the wasabi version of these headphones but they haven't shipped at all due to "Microsoft" according to Audeze, I'm starting to get impatient as my current gaming headset has broken due to cheap plastic and its been nearly 2 weeks since I ordered the wasabi edition, consider cancelling the order and getting the original as theres nothing different besides the color scheme
@sphinx9517 it's cushions replacements for headsets that improves sound and comfort. It's crazy. The cushions have a pretty sizable impact on the sound signature on some headsets.
What actually is this headset compared to the Focal Bathys Headphones the Focal’s are so much better in every category lol and just a better overall product and have the best audio quality of any audiophile headphones this isn’t the ‘Best Audio Quality’ you can get from a pair of audiophile headphones try the Focal Bathys and they’ll knock this out the park in terms of audio quality and everything else 😂
Audeze is a audiophile company. As an audiophile I will go with these. Just don't treat them like crap!
Same. I have lots of audiophile products which is why I hate thee artificial processing in most headsets.
I have mine for about a year now, still going strong.
