    Rainbows are my favorite part about fishing the breakwall. Every single time almost, one big one. Also, they did a study on Roi, and found they were below Ulua in terms of cigutera. I eat every Ulua, still superstitious about the Roi though even though the studies say no need worry. Idk.

      The wall is one of my favorites to fish on this side always action. I haven't tried roi yet still leery don't want to get sick. Although I have friends that tell me their fine and they eat all the time

      theoretically the smaller ones might not be as dangerous?

      I will be in kona in May. It will be my first time in Hawaii. Was wondering about any good (inexpensive) charters and good shore fishing? What kind of tackle (for shore fishing)? Any information would be highly appreciated.

    • @thatjuanshow4485
      @thatjuanshow4485  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@patrickbaca6719 for charters it's hard to say I've been on one since living here and we didn't catch anything and I spent 1200 . It was a bummer but that's the chance with charters . I've been on the night manta ray dive and that was one of the coolest things I've ever done in my life.

      @@patrickbaca6719 for shore fishing I like using light set up for the little guys small hooks with couple split shots two foot leader with some shrimp or squid for bait or same set up with a floater . That will catch about any small kine fish. Then if you want some big boys hook up some of those little guys and send them out and hold on! I like fishing the boat harbor Kona side I haven't fished that side that often I live Hilo side. Also sending it to the bottom is good as well you just lose a lot more tackle the reef is relentless. But for bottom go three ounce weight two foot leader to a three way swivel then hook leader half that length with chosen bait. Anyway good luck hope your journey here and vacation are amazing and hope you catch the big island screamas
