I almost mislead by the statement that you need at least 2 inches on the sides to have the doors open. It is false. The refrigerator is deep enough. About 1/3 of the front sticks out, so there is no problem at all as long as it is fit.
They mean if you have the fridge in a corner along a long wall, to open the door to 90º you need 2" clearance along the wall for the door to swing. If the wall or cabinet doesn't extend past the doors then it doesn't matter. You need some clearance along the sides or top because the fridge blows hot air out the back and it needs to escape to the room.
