    • @AkersJohn
      @AkersJohn 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

Admittedly, for me, it was a surprise... particularly after Sunderland + Real Sociedad. He was, arguably, sacked too early at ManU... but it was always going to be insanely difficult to follow the expectations that Sir Alex had set there. Moyes seems to be one of those managers, who can take a "B" squad and turn them into an "A" level team... given the resources. Will be interesting to see when other teams come calling for their big name players, if he can maintain that.

I would try to expand the Czech colony by signing Adam Hložek from Sparta Prague if I was them. Tall, agile, versatile (can play on both wings) and a very capable shot creator for himself as well as for others, and is yet to turn 20. On the other hand, they had Haller and didn't know what to do with him.

    • @liam8664

That was before Moyes tho tbf, the board brought Pellegrini a nice shiny striker who didn’t fit his system, and when Moyes came in he didn’t like how he didn’t press, quality player, but was frustrating and didn’t fit

So this is sensible transfers in the future assuming they lose Rice because they're not a big enough club, but your pick is a player that bigger clubs are after and is out of contract this summer, meaning by the time Rice has gone he'll have already moved on. I don't understand why this wasn't just about who West Ham might pick up this window to improve/solidify themselves as a European contender

  • @benamp00

Anyone who replaces Rice has to be better defensively than attacking. This is because in the current partnership this season, Souček has had to stay back to cover for Rice's runs and this has frustrated Souček, as he's just as good as progressing the ball, and he is unable to get into the box to head in those goals which he did so brilliantly in the 20/21 season. Alex Kral, who we have on loan, has shown a good work ethic and perhaps like Vlasic and Benrahma only requires more time and minutes to prove his worth and partner with Souček. Centre back as you've said is very important in the short term, as the promise of young stars like Harrison-Ashby, Johnson and Baptiste are not what we need right now. We need experience and we need leadership when Ogbonna and Zouma are out. The striker position is the most difficult to choose from, as Moyes has found out; our style of play necessitates someone much like Haller, but with a much stronger work ethic and agility. Belotti was someone we've been interested in for years, and Hlozek is an interesting choice who is more realistic now Sparta Prague's owner now has a share in us. As a final note, Antonio was never really a RWB! That was a failed experiment by Bilic. He has always been an attacking winger.

As a West Ham fan I'm both flattered and irritated that this video didn't actually talk about anything West Ham could or should do in this present window -- these were three picks to replace players who are not gone (yet), with centre back *maybe* being the exception.
West Ham do need a striker now, though -- someone who can offer depth for the often fragile Antonio, and even challenge him for minutes. Personally, I have felt since his days filling in for Aguero at City that Iheanacho is the most underrated striker in the PL. Fortunately for him (but unfortunately for any potential buyers), he has been starting to show at Leicester just how good he is. I'm not one to be very tactically-minded, so I can't say how well he would fit into Moyes' system, but if it were me in charge, aside from getting Lingard back and keeping Rice, my top priority would be securing a top-rate if underrated striker like Kelechi Iheanacho.

I think it's wrong to assume that Rice will leave soon. Rice has had Noble as a mentor and realises the importance of commitment to a club. I think he'll be there for longer than people think. If he does decide to leave, West Ham will want £100m+ which not many clubs can afford. No offense but, Kessie won't go to West Ham. He's being linked to Liverpool, Spurs and other big clubs around Europe. Unless West Ham get CL football next season then maybe..
West Ham are a club on the up and hard to see them selling players right now. They are an exciting project that can get better. The only clubs that players would leave for in my opinion are Liverpool, City or Chelsea. Who would want to go to Man Utd, Arsenal or Spurs at the moment?

With our thin squad and injuries, it would have been sensible to have actually signed a player by now, but that’s West Ham for you

Replacing Rice won’t just be about footballing quality, needs the right attitude and leadership too. there’s something to be said about a quality British player in midfield

They need better defenders. Their attack is really good but they concede a lot as well

The last players that West Ham bought from Bundesliga failed. I don´t think they will shop for forwards there. Maybe they will swave Belottie

Why tf would Frank Kessie take a step down in his career and join west ham after leaving milan?
West ham need an attacking midfielder and a backup striker more than they need a centerback tbh man cmon

attacking midfielder isn't more important than a Center Back. Have u seen diop and dawson?

The lack of transfer activity this window is diabolical considering we need a striker

The fact that Tifo did not recommend Ibrahim Sangare to West Ham is a big disappointment to me and lot's of Tifo's fans :))

Kessie is one of the best midfilders in europe and fights for 1st place.
How can you say that he is a realistic target for WH..

Why doesn't tifo suggest players from the Portuguese league since they adapt better than players from Germany or France to the premier league
